just put a etronix photon 12t brushless combo in my durga

I'm thinking of a brushless motor for my durga, have you had a chane to run it yet? If so what do it go like?

Thanks

Blooming decorating :(

I feel your pain!

We are moving back in with my parents for a few months to clear some stupid debts, have spent half my day at the dump and the other half dismantling wardrobes!

It has revealed just how big my Tamiya collection is though, perhaps I should thin it out a bit :(

Full day of Tamiya goodness today :D

First off I had a cunning idea for the possible storage of my runners

Dirt cheap and a perfect fit too. Not to mention that because the fold flat they take up a lot less room when not in use

Pretty much finished the drivers off for SH and SHII

Also started my Boomerang restorations

Today I fitted Super Astute/Dyna Storm rear hubs to my modified Madcap runner. These appear to give a small amount of toe in at the rear of the car, something the Madcap misses in stock form. It might keep the car more stable on the rough stuff.

Went for our first proper trail drive of the year

You know you've had a good run when your car needs hosing down afterwards :)

I've also decided the 15T motor is just way too fast for my driving needs. Think I'll swap in a standard 27T silver can and see how that performs as a baseline, I can then go higher or lower from there.

Made body mounts for the Frog Budget Bug and managed to mount the spotlights after much trial and error and a severe nose job on the Kamtec shell . Happy with it now though :D.

Finished a new axle beam for the front axle of my half track. Made a feeble attempt at doing some more on the high lift, bolted some chrome onto the bodyshell but need to remove some of it to mask and paint in the X-18 bits. Came up with a design for the 4 link mount plates but couldn't be bothered to make a start on it. Contemplated ordering a Globe Liner from Banzai but couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. Still, it beats decorating :P

Got high on paint fumes whilst painting two bodies and prepping another!

Lol. - 2.5 litres of undercoat and gloss have a similar effect :o

Sometimes, I get my highs from finishing those projects, but admittedly this happens a lot too!

Today, I uploaded photos from my last bash sessions, and changed up my avatar for something even more obscene!

Is 'Strikeriffic' a detrimental term? Depends on who you ask!

Recovered my weekend by stripping an original midnight pumpkin chassis - i think this probably only ran once or twice, gearbox internals are as new, no grease.

Shame this one is going in another direction.

Was out with the Madcap and the Ftx vantage with my nephew and my 7 month old son today. Both buggy's got very dirty indeed. But both were great running on open grass, although the ftx did thermal shutdown due to slight over gearing which is now fixed.

Will have to get a video taken next time and uploaded :)

Had a mega busy week with work and one thing an another but finally picked up some 1200 wet and dry and started trying to salvage my lunchie tonight.

Wife has gone to bed due to paint fumes and I am sat feeling slightly high but I did explain to her that I no longer consider the garage to be a suitable painting environment so turning the dining room into a spray shop was necessary :D

Played with my 10.5, 8.5 and 5.5 brushless motors on the motor checker and ran the break in programme on each one. Safe to say there is a difference of opinion on the need to break in a brushless, but why not?!

After that played with the timings and recorded the different amp and KV results. Keeping a technical log on each motor so I can see how they fare over time.

Also now have all the parts for the 934 RSR build. Should start that this coming week. Despite all this playing with brushless, think I'll go Super Stock RZ in the porsche. Don't think the TLU would like lipo power.
