Anyone got a spare Blackfoot / MB etc hex drive cup ?.......any condition as long as it's not totally shot :)

I have replaced my cups with the re-re Frog universals - you are welcome to my old driveshafts and cups for the price of the postage if you like?

This morning I ordered a Dualhunter off our LHS, should arrive Monday for me along with twin Sport Tuned motors. I have spare genuine 1150 Tamiya bearings so didn't need to order those. Should make a fun companion for bashing with my Lunchbox re-re.

This afternoon my gf asked why I hadn't started painting my Mini shell. That was all the encouragement I needed. Within fifteen minutes the windows were masked and I had started on the grille and flares. Couple of hours later I had a beautiful blue Mini with black flares. Will stick some of the decals in the kit on tomorrow and make a custom reg plate for it.

Also this morning I put a pre-order in with my LHS for the Fire Dragon re-re. I love the futuristic late '80s look! I had a QD Thunder Dragon coming up 20 years ago and dreamed of having the big brother kit with the big 540 motor! I don't think they will re-re the Thunder Dragon so this is as close as I'll get without spending $400+usd + shipping to New Zealand.

Just bought a Blackfoot off the 'bay - think it's a King although it wasn't advertised as such. Bit of a last-minute impulse purchase but since I can't buy any more big expensive purchases until I've bought me a house, I fancied an easy restoration to keep me going for a while. I don't think it's in too bad shape - although I'll have to decide once it arrives, do I patch it up and use it as a runner, do I restore it as a completely vintage and standard shelfer, or do I go for an all-out custom paint job, massive hop-ups, uber-tidy shelf project..? Ooh, decisions...

Put my TA05-R and Jeff's (The Fantom) TF-5 Stallion on the setting board to get ride height, camber & droop all dialed in. Installed fresh sets of Take-Off RP30's on both cars. I finished up my overly-wide HPI WRX body (I swear it said 190mm :D) for the TA05 and finally got it sitting level on the excessively short rear body posts with some help from spare HPI body-post extensions. We also shimmed the front end of the TF-5 as well as the rear diff to make it that much better...

Can't WAIT to get these things on the track!!!

Over Christmas, I built an F103GT, and fitted an Enzo body and wheels to it. I have the 2.6mm Enzo wheels. Unfortunately, at the front the wheels/tires barely fit in the guards, and the ribs in them hit the suspension. So I can't shim them to widen the track, or they'll stick out from the guards. Anyone have a cure for this, other than dremeling the inside of the wheel? I do need to shim out the back wheels to fill the guards a bit better.

Last couple of days... I've been building a Hot Shot! Not a re-re, an original one! ... No, I didn't destroy an original NIB, I'm building from parts bags I collected before the re-re came out. Of course, I bought a couple of the re-re too...

Mostly built the chassis. I'm up to the point where the radio box is assembled. All the suspension is built - This is the first time I've actually had a Hot Shot in my hands, and I must say, the suspension at the back is rather... overcomplicated. Cool, but completely impractical.

I really like the adjuster collars on the shocks, they're really cool.

Today I received some GPM parts from Asiatees:

- front TA01 uprights and c-hubs for the rally car I'm building out of left-over bits I had...

- front TA01 gearbox bottom for my buggy.

Will also have to test-fit the uprights on the buggy, to see whether the TA01 uprights fit the Kose TA02 C-hubs I've installed on it...

Nice mill, one sweet tool that is.. very high on the wishlist !

Ok, for me.. more of a "what have i done last couple of days" =>

Started and stopped a rebuild of a Aeromax, thought it would be a quick job,

put it back together, paint a new body kit.

But, as the monkey who used to own it apairently used a air hammer to drill the screws in...

Resulting both chassis rails unuseble.

Got cranky about it, put it all back in the box.. moved upstairs "for another day" .

Also, bit of a housecleaning, about all project cars moved from shelfs into boxes, labeled,

and put with the other project upstairs. "for another day"

Had to, as the Jagdpanther, is nearing my house says the mail tracking :D

Ordered load of bearings, paint, and made certain i had a extra spektrum rx ready for mounting.

Replacement Hilux is also closing in, so.. with the new arivals, needed shelfs to put them on when build :)

Added a 2GB SDcard to the new "flycamone2" , as with the higher resolution the old 512 was to little.

And, as bonus.. can use now both "flycamone's" , sidenote.. so amazing how cheap these card

are these days. Can still remember these things cost a small furtune for your camara!

Also spend some time checking out the spec's of the new HPI Baja 5B SS ( EVO ) , getting more & more tempted to buy me a setup to add to the bigscale runners.

So, what have you done today ??

Lounging in the effluent of my own excess (not related to above) :D

Upsetting office admins :(

Arranging a mortgage B)

Making up with forum admins :)

Still waiting for my KBF to arrive :(

Today I have mostly been surfing ebay, buying a new bodyshell and all the parts sets for my King Blackfoot resto.

Still after the J parts tree if anyone has one going spare ;)

I am now all excited and want to go home and start stripping it down, except I can't, 'cos I'm busy all weekend sorting out a decade of accumulated junk to go to the dump before I move house...

Well today I finally started making my Ferrari F201. I bought this at the beginning of 2003!!!

At the time I bought just about every option part I could, and plan to make it with them. I wanted it to be more unusual in that way in the future, when you look back on it, and those parts are unavailable. They are mostly by 3G Racing and Tech Racing, as well as Tamiya hop-up options. The aluminium arms are by FPM.

Today I made the rear diff (tamiya) and put together the front one-way diff (Tech Racing).

Took about 1 & 1/2 hours

Just replaced the gear cases on my King Blackfoot resto and cleaned the back end up. I discovered the gearbox was jammed because someone had tried to assemble it the wrong way round; now it turns but still seems to catch on something, even tho it's fitted with ball bearings. I'll see how it runs with a motor when I've got it all back together and may have to dismantle it once again to investigate...

Discovered I need a couple more bits tho, and still waiting on my new wheels and shell parts before I can start on the new paintjob (oh, yes, and some nicer weather!!)

Last night I stripped the RC10 box again and managed to rebuild it in much better condition, but still need some new parts to get it working smoothly. I also swapped the front uprights for Grasshopper re-re ones (they actually fit really well if you use the Tamiya upright screw and a rubber shim). Now I can use my Grasshopper wheels with standard Tamiya bearings (the RC10 axle stubs are slightly smaller diameter so Tamiya bearings don't fit snuggly).

Next task is to think about how I'm going to cut up the tub for the project I have in mind...

I found a few spare moments at the weekend, so I stripped the grubby decals off the beaten King Blackfoot shell. The shell isn't in the best of repair, so I'd already ordered a new one for my KBF shelfer.

I gave the grille and bumpers a quick splatter of matt black paint with a brush, for that "burnt out" look, and then dug out my spare TL-01 chassis that I had earmarked for another project. Last night I managed to mount some HPI body posts to it, and fitted my spare TLT wheels using KBF wide wheel hexes for the front (so they clear the steering). 20 minutes with a dremel to chop out the KBF arches and bumper so the wheels will turn on full articulation, and now I have a matt black Mad Max style truck.

Just waiting on a TL01 19T pinion and it'll be another basher. Might even make a trailer for it so it can tow my matt black autocross Beetle, too ;)

Pics to follow in my showroom tonight, hopefully...

Been a while

Ok, got a phone call yesterday, after 9 months , my 2 leopard 1a4's are getting back

from the painter.

< at last.. >

Now looking at the problem "where to put them" , even start to consider selling some.

It is getting a bit to much here inside.

Decided i really, really need to dust off some of the tanks in the collection, just now a way

to figur out how to do that without damaging those 20 year old little plastic parts.

In short.. nothing quite constructive, but.. do thinking about it :D

So, what have you done today??

Took my Boxer dog to the Beach, along with my fox runner and had 15 mins of great fun watching him try in vain to catch the fox installed with a 23 turn stock bz. This week the fox won, however next week milo (my boxer) will be challenging my hotshot!!!!
