Thank you XV, I have no doubt that your superb Pajero has played a part in my descisons to buy this one!

I'll be looking for tips on those basic hop-ups in the near future.

Be sure to let me know if you'd like any pics or details of specific mods. There is so much you can do to these rigs!

Went to the post office this morning and picked up the runner wheels and tyres for my Manta Ray. Fitted to the car with alloy clamping hexes and anodised wheel nuts, I think they will do quite nicely.

Managed to fit 4472mah into a "dead" VB Power 4600 NiMH. Also changed the RX in my Axial from Spektrum SR3300 to a Hobbyking RX, so now I can close the lid on it (-:

decided not to get the axial scx10 jeep hardtop(no room), instead upgraded my honcho will aftermarket shocks, metal front and rear bumpers, a winch and sourcing interior. debating on getting metal F/R axles and the dig tranny. The LHS sold me the bumpers were really both for the front. Will need surgery to get the top bar off to fit into the rear. The wires from the winch broke off, bummef, but does look cool. The after market shocks with working resouvior, jacked the truck higher than i would like (the LHS told me was the same length. Not) and not as scale...a bit big. will have to insert washer in side. The LHS advises me not to get the dig tranny as is about an inch longer which will put more stress on the drive shaft....he properly knew the shocks i got from him were longer and will further increase the drive shaft angle. Not totally happy with the results, but still happy with it. Took me more than 1/2 a day just to fit most if the stuff on, but it has been several years since i pick up a screw driver and worked on rc.

Next project will be in July on the D90, slowly getting detailing parts for it.

Woke up at at 05:50 this morning, so thought I might as well get and do something useful. So started the machining work on some components for a custom made gearbox for my TXT-1 / 4274 brushless combo

My Boomers in pieces now and soaking most parts in warm soapy water ready for a scrub. I love pulling apart gearboxes that are in mint condition! Its like unwrapping a present, you never what you are going to get but are stoked when its in mint condition with clean lube!!

Inspected the damage to my Madcap runner after I rolled it on Sunday :(

Broken wishbone carrier

I can live with that though. I have spare Astute and Madcap items.

I can't live with this, however.

This is the hole left behind after the screw got pulled through the chassis. There is no more plastic left for a screw to get purchase.

And then there are the fractures

Even if I could use this chassis again, it's got a couple more runs left before that back end gives up entirely.

I have a donor car, so will take the chassis from that. It's a bit scruffy, but seems intact. Otherwise, I am in the market for a reasonably priced, preferably new, Madcap chassis. When I say reasonably priced, I don't mean £56.00 like that swindler on Ebay is charging

I got it into my head I wanted my ReRe Sand Scorcher to look a bit more used and authentic..

So last night I broke a back light and today I've matt blacked the wheels, bonnet and nose cone.

This could all end up quite badly, but it's my runner shell and the experience is all good.

I also finished using up the parts I've been buying over the last 18 months or so for my 3 Speeds.

I've still got a long way to go and I've still got 2 more 3 speeds under wraps.

Taking a month of not spending any money on R.C has helped me to focus on these and move forward with them.

So far two posts on here, made the wife a cup of tea and got ready for work.

When I get home the plan is to get some primer on my Lunchbox shell. I want to get it ready for Fairlop on Saturday.

Nothing R/C related as I'm saving for a project.

But for my Aussie friends here on TC, I restored my 1943 .303 Australian SMLE III Lithgow. Neglected for decades and picked up from my wife's uncle eight months ago. It was covered in surface rust and the stock badly worn. Some 0000 Steel Wool, boiled linseed oil and a TON of elbow grease, she looks great now. Got a clean bill of health from the Gunsmith yesterday. My Canadian P37 sling should be here on Saturday.

Can't wait to put some rounds down range :D

very nice mate . Based on the Lee Enfield these are very good rifles . Add a decent scope and their good at up to 1000 yards . Great stopping power with the 303 round . Still a quality hunting tool . If you can find a long barrel as fitted to the Sniper version its well worth having the gunsmith fit it .
