Today.... Really in the last week i'm "working" around my new toy. Electric models have become very present, why not find one in 1/8 scale?

Scrubbed the 20 year old dirt and oil of the boomer today, not my favorite job when restoring a vintage buggy but always makes me smile to see clean parts that were last clean decades ago! (minus the scratches though)

final fitted the rear bumper to my honcho and lower the ride height to make the 1.9 tires more scale over all. May not be ideal for crawling, but look more in line like the blazer than the bruiser/mounty. decided not to get the dig tranny, no point for my set up.

While making pasta, I decided to use the heat from the burner to bend the distorted rear resin bumper I received back into shape. It mostly worked - and the pasta was delicious.

Then I made up the avatar that you see now - it was difficult getting two cars in under 1 kB, but it worked!

Gave up trying to set up my esc for the Lunchbox had a chat with Andy at Modelsport over the phone he agreed to send a replacement. Then went out with the wife and bought a tank.

Sadly not a Sherman but a fish tank.

Still she's happy now.

A mate gave me one of his derelict CC-01 chassis'

It has no electrics bar silvercan, no wheels, no body, a stripped rear axle and bevel gear, the chassis has the block cut off, the fronts of the front guards cut off and the rear of the rear guards. The gearbox cover has already been bolted through and the steering post changed to a highlift item.

I managed to swindle a used and abused Jero shell off him too just by ordering him some $12 wraith steering links :)

So I have been building a rear bed, fixing the diff etc and making custom mounts for the body. Also I managed to pick up some RC4WD wheels and tyres from my LHS. Still a sork in progress but the plan is to run a 55t on 3s through a hobbywing quicrun esc :)

Body not mounted in this pic:

I slowly rebuilding my trf416 to get it ready for racing at the local club. I brought a new protoform mazda 6 body for it a few weeks ago and have been dreading painting it as I'm a very average painter. Had some spare time today so I thought I cant put it of any longer and got into it! I'm really happy how it turned out. Usually I'm more off a paint it one solid color and plaster it with stickers kind of guy but I thought I would try some little more technical.

I've tided my work space and given it a clean, very happy with this!

Photographed my blue Hilux so that I can update my showroom pictures of it.

I put red Hilux up for sale...soft advertising to start and then the usual Gumtree and eBay route if it doesn't get any takers.

Put a few more items on eBay (start Thursday night) - token gestures to keep items going outbound as far as the wife's eyes are concerned ;)

Today, I did a bit more work on the Dark Impact. Trimmed and fitted the body, installed the electrics, swapped out a torque tuned motor for a sport tuned instead.

Got the tuning spring set through the post, so put the black, soft springs up front. They don't seem any different to the gold springs the car came with. Gave the car a quick blast around the furniture and I'm looking forward to it's first proper run outside.
