The Gravel Hound got a 15t firebolt installed and tested, ran great, then to the shelf

Stripped the Dark Impact down, rear diff is grinding but other than that a good clean and it should be fine. The brushless setup I was going to put in the GH will go in this.

Today i finally finished my Hotshot II rebuild - it's been a bit on and off for weeks but finally found a few hours to knuckle down and finish it.

After that I cut and painted (pearl white backed with white) a Colt Fiat Abath 1000TCR shell - then onto the decals. I've called it a day now, after ca 60mdecals applied, with about another 20 to go :(

Played with Lego while I spent another day lamenting a lack of scheduled time to go outside with my car(s)... The rain here looks like a lot of fun to play in, too. But I built up a Subaru Brat to go with my Lancia 037 in the Lego thread!

First thing I sorted out yesterdays dodgy paintwork on my LB, went to work where a kind young lady figured out how to load photos on here. Got home had hot dog and doughnuts from the fair( great for a sunday dinner). Got the stickers I had printed yesterday on the LB.

Sunday the 13th. Brilliant.

I attempted to get my car running yesterday:

However, in my long absence from RC, I had forgotten that all my batteries were dead! A 2-minute putter was all I managed.

So I charged my batteries, and the next morning I went back out:

The range on my Lancia has become very unimpressive, losing signal after 15 - 20 paces away. My servo may be drawing a lot of current, so I will look to replace it with a lower-powered version - previously, even with headlights in place, it was not this bad...

On the other hand, it has given me a reason to tinker while I wait for that bodyshell to strip. Does Castrol Super Clean also require UV light to work effectively? When I had that successful experience with a nylon bumper piece, the part was allowed to strip in the presence of a lot of sunlight, whereas my current project has had to sit in a dark garage. I just hope that it is supposed to take several weeks, rookie that I am!

Either way, the Lancia will be shelved as the balloons I have used for weatherproofing are now wearing out. Given the temperatures I have subjected them to, I should not be (and am not) surprised. All these are signs that maybe a full rebuild is not a bad idea, including the wear on the inside of the shell from my makeshift bumper.

Went for a test run with my TA03R-S earlier, with new 15t pinion gearing. 6 minutes into the test run and the o/s rear damper stay decided to crumble. (becoming a regular thing this). Got it back home and changed the black plastic parts for grey plastic parts. On close inspection the black parts seem very brittle, whereas the grey parts are alot softer and seem less prone to brittleness/crumbling.

Stripped both gearboxes down and rebuilt the ball diffs using some AW grease on certain small areas. So now i have 2 super smooth diffs and alot of brand new grey parts on the car. :)

Round 3 tomorrow :)

I browse online, and BOOM!

Newly-listed (talking minutes ago here!) - I hit Buy It Now, pay for it, and get feedback within the next 5 (and a lot of thanks to europro975!). Easily the quickest RC-related transaction I have ever experienced - even when I had my heart set on an Avante Black Special, I at least took time to admire the box before buying, and that was at my local hobby shop!

And to think that I wonder why my other projects get left alone...

... On a similar note, I now have a Tamiya Bigwig/NovaFox driver figure for sale :P

Assembled my F113 by 3racing over the weekend. Everything seems to be working.

The 16.5 T brushed motor sounds mean and the gyro seems to work, when I picked up the car up and turn it at 45 degree angle, the front wheels turn in the other direction. Is the gyro working properly?

Now just have to paint the body, put the rear diffuser on (if possible) and put a film under the chassis to protect it against scratches.

No missing parts and the build was quite enjoyable.

It actually sounds like the servo is reversed - I think the gyro would only work once the vehicle is in motion.

Glad to hear the F113 is a worthy acquisition, though!

Yes, that's how it's supposed to work. It keeps the car going straight if the rear starts to step out, hence the counter steer.

I think Theibault is correct, the gyro is working.

got it from rcmart for $150.00. carbon decks, metal shocks bodies and rear drive, bearings, wheels and foam tires and a body...excellent value. Similar set up from a Tamiya kit would likely costing more than double. I am looking forward to some runs around the local track.

oh, the only real issue is putting in fresh battery requires the removal of upper deck , no quick and easy access...design flaw.

Run my lunchbox round, tried to film it on my phone. 30 seconds of video with about 6 seconds of lunchbox in it rest was path and grass.

look at loads of cars on line e-bay and all the usual U.K shops.

and also tried to figure out why my fusion vector charger stopped working.
