After my work i put on the stickers on my new Holiday buggy and my girlfriend was painting the driver figure and other parts of the buggy.

I am not so good at painting :)

Now its time for a beer :)

I've zipped my H.B back together and I gave it a test drive.

I've kept it simple for ease and costs, so black dyed wheels and white lettering, bearings throughout, shock brace, Tam 101 ESC, a 540 on a 19T and 27MHZ set I had spare.

If I like it and it turns out to be a keeper I'll then upgrade the shocks, motor and electrics in time.

Ebay Bearhawk, always wanted one as a kid, no idea why :)

Anyways, the shell is pretty poor but other than that its all there and although it needs a clean, its good. The gearbox in particular is in good condition.

So went from the top pic, to a stripped bottom pic

Today, my son ran his Lunchbox into a concrete slab.

Exteriorly, everything looked ok.

Upon reversing, there was no steering.

On examination, the servo saver did its job - saved the servo & sacrificed itself - snapped off.

This is the first servo saver ever to break in my 20 years in this hobby

While dragging the handicapped Lunchbox over the undulating off road track, I noticed the rear suspension having superb articulation just like a crawler.

Closer inspection revealed that one of the arms of the nice V-spring at the right axle having snapped off.

I thought people usually just lose them.

Today, I purchased some supplies at my new local hobby shop:

Within this stock are supplies for a new project and some paints for the Audi Quattro B-parts that will be landing in the next week or so.

With a panel line pen acquired in the same trip, I also gave my Lancia some new detail:

The previous day, I was waiting at one of the local parks to meet up with my girlfriend, and so whipped out my conveniently-placed Striker to give it a run (I just 'happened' to have it in my bag):

As it followed an earlier session with my Audi Quattro, the Striker felt like a razor! :P

Today I spent over two hours trying to find a drive pin which got lost in the carpet  (Pesky things). To make things worse my wife came in to see what I was doing and found it straight away :(.

Time for a beer! :)

I've spent way too much time doing this. Get yourself some neo magnets, it's makes finding dropped metal bits sooo much easier. Of if you happen to knock a pot of screws or whatnot over, it's much easier to pick up when they're all stuck to the magnet.

I think I went a little too far with the electronics :) The big thing that should not be placed next to the motor is the external bec.

On the bright side, there will never ever be a voltage sag, no matter what servo I use.

After beginning a new project, I had the idea of fitting a re-release Lancia 037 front bumper on my Lancia Rally.

My Team CRP configuration, which borrowed an imperfectly-fitting aluminum brace from an F103, proved to be damaging the bodyshell, so I figured that a bumper designed for an 037 could work better. I had one sitting around for whatever reason...

Without using it yet, I think it will work quite well:

Some people find the 'snow-plow' bumper ugly, but I think it is quite suitable for its purpose here. I used screws and washers from my parts car and my stock of F103 spares.

I also retouched chipped black paint on the shell in the wheel arches and the interior. It is currently separated from the chassis for drying.
