Today, I pulled the trigger on a WR-02 purchase. It is a Wild Willy 2 - my first new-in-box kit since the Avante Black Special, and the first designed to pop wheelies! I am excited :)

Now, to find affordable and good-quality ball bearings delivered to Canada...

Rebuilt the re Shocks again on my Sand Scorcher.

Changed the pinion on my H.B.

Packed up loads of kit for tomorrow.

I better set the alarm clock now!

Impressed with the look of my Nephew Baileys flip paint monster wheeled rising storm

That's one way to sort the lack of ground clearance ;)

Spent a few hours tracking down Vanquish Products Hop-ups - shouldn't have been too difficult but online dealers were either out of stock or wanting silly shipping fees (ca $45 for a A4 padded envelopes worth !).

Ordered some Gmade Team Zero 104mm shocks from RCMart, and some small alloy hop-ups from Asisatees.

Converted a pile of Tamiya parts bags into 70% of a CR-01 chassis - needed more 1050 bearings so one axle is still to be built. Ordered a 50T Absima rebuildable motor for the CR-01, not the best no doubt but I wanted this chassis to be different to the CR tuned motor'd one.

wired and soldered a led light bar to radio controlled switch and spliced it into a battery connector - amazingly (I'm hopeless at electrics, even worse at soldering ) it works :D

Today I put a new AVC RX in my drift car, freeing up a standard RX which I put in my FF01. This allowed me to power the FF01 up for the first time, which in turn allowed me to discover that the '90s vintage servo that it came with is faulty, so I ordered a replacement.

I then gave the drifter a brief run, and fiddled with the AVC settings. I still need to fiddle with them a bit more, but initial indications are quite promising - it certainly makes it easier to get the car going in a straight line again after a corner.

I also put a new 4-channel RX in my 4X4X4 WR01, freeing up a standard RX for my new M06 Alpine, and giving me full control over the WR01s dual servos and dual ESCs. Via my new DX4S TX, I can now select RWD, FWD or 4WD, as well as front steering, rear steering, 4-wheel counter-steering or 4-wheel crab steering. Lotsa fun!

I let my sisters fiancé have a go at driving my Turnigy 1/16 buggy.

The performance is immense from this little thing. Too immense for him to handle it would seem, as 2 minutes after handing over the transmitter he hit a tree. Initially the car seemed fine and drive out under its own power, but a steering knuckle is busted.

I'm not disappointed though, as that's the reason we make these things, so people can enjoy them, even if it is only briefly!

Now to replace them with a direct plastic part at 27p per pair or go for the aluminium ones at a shade under £5... Another reason I love this buggy!

Started building my lowride pumpkin that I bought impulsively thanks to axeboys build thread. All was going swimmingly until I got to the steering and found I had a faulty parts tree and it came to a screeching halt :( :( :(

Took my E-maxx out for a speed run.

Car has the traxxas telemetry sensors fitted,( which I am very dubious with the accuracy)

I should get a GPS unit.

Max mamba 2200kv at 6s, 62t spur and 24t pinion running on proline road rage tyres.

max speed recorded on the ipod app was 81 mph. Doubt if that's correct, but think it is at least 60+ mph

Fastest RC car I have ever owned

Unfortunatley after a few runs, I think I have damaged a diff as it makes a clicking noise now

I need a new area to bash, as the car needs a bigger area to run

Anyone know of good places in surrey?

Went for a beach bash with my son. Need more practice with the camera and need a new camera (or take the time to study how to override the generic presets which are neither use nor ornament).

Cheap, cheerful and effective. Would like to have had the Madbull in focus. Need to see how to adjust shutter speed/ISO rate/f stop to get better results.

My son's Madbull and my Hornet. No breakages - result!

Narrowed some Sand Blasters the have a new set of front tires yju2esy3.jpg

Very nice work on the tires!

What is your process on narrowing them?

Have always wondered how it was done.

Got a big tube of CA glue and went around all the carbon edges of the Serpent with it. A single drop and let gravity do the work around the edges. I will do the same for the other kits eventhough not building them yet. Reason? Better use the glue now before it dries out few months later and have to buy it again.

Good call on the glue - the extra time for it to set will help, too.

I used nothing of the sort, though, on my chopped Lancia 037 shell (yes, an original - I apologize, but it was a beater):

(human hand for scale reference - these cars are always bigger than I think they are!)

As photos suggest, in the last 24 hours I sanded it down and applied more filler, refining the areas where I bonded it with melted plastic sprue. I got back to work on it after a long break; it may seem lazy, but I think my lungs would have been shot had I worked on it all the time.

Today, I plan to do more of the same! My ball bearings shipped from the U.K., and now I hope Banzai does the same for the chassis I trusted them to deliver. They seem reputable, though, so I should not worry so much.

Is this a plug for the Willy's Wheelie Rally thread? Maybe...

Watched the awesome Moto GP races with a few beers. And I am at this moment soldering some connectors onto the ESC for my nephews FTX Vantage surprise and doing a test run to make sure everything is working :)

Bad luck Neil - maybe not quite ' first in quality around the world '

It is not the first time I've had a faulty parts tree. Just a little frustrating. <_<

But yes the 'quality' leaves much to be desired.

Nice one BB! I have a similar situation with my globe liner, I have a false wall for the front cab and all the mfu in behind it. It all sits above the battery like yours does, and I am yet to install it permanently. My vibration unit is under a engine cover jn the cab. But I need to find a place for the switch board. Looks good mate! :)
