Home from work (half day Friday for the holiday weekend, so 10pm till 2am) decided to strip apart my TA03R-S (hopped up) Porsche 911 GT1 and clean, add a few parts here and there, and tidy up the body a bit as the body is well used and quite rough looking at the front end imo. Turned out not bad I think :) With a few ice cold beers along the way :)

and along side my Shelf Queen Tamiya Mazda 787B (My favorite Tamiya)

And a wee rear hopup shot

And yes I went the Purple route instead of the usual Blue. :) All ball studs are Purple 3 Racing 4.8mm ball studs (excellent items I may add), Purple Tamiya anodised servo mounts, Purple Tamiya Limited Edition TA03 rear lightweight driveshafts, Purple M3 locknuts for the Carbon battery stay and Purple M4 Tamiya Limited Edition wheelnuts. :)

What can i say about this product except WOW! Never used it before and i am very impressed with the results,my only tools were a soggy ended tooth pick and a scalpel, easy to handle and very forgiving, which is very handy for someone with sausage fingers like me,not quite finished it all yet as i was starting to go crosseyed

No,It's chrome foil with an adhesive backing that i'm using to chrome the Blazer grille with,i'm cutting it with scissors into long thin strips and then carefully laying it on the grille bars and burring it down with a dampened toothpick, the results are great, much better than i could achieve by trying to paint silver on with a brush.

Completed the next part of my TA03F build, decided my crumby pics weren't doing it justice so you'll have to wait til Monday for an update when I've downloaded the better images :)

Also repaired my Turnigy 1/16 Buggy after my brother in law mashed a front upright after a running with a small tree. Upon rebuilding I found the front springs are binding on the shock bodies, a bit frustrating to say the least.

Today my older nephew and I set up a series of time trial courses in the garden, and took turns running our trucks around them. My younger nephew acted as referee, counting us down to the start and making sure we followed the course correctly. Lots of fun was had by all!

Afterwards I let my younger nephew have a go with my truck with the throttle endpoints turned right down. He handled it surprisingly well - I think he is ready for a hobby-grade RC of his own.

To that end, anybody know of any used hobby-grade RCs for sale at a 5-year-old's pocket money price-point? :)

Reilluor swears by this buggy as a cheap intro to hobby grade RC, I'm on the verge of ordering one myself for my 4 year old's xmas present too!

The problem with the turnigy buggy is that it's ridiculously fast straight out of the box.

That and the problems I'm having with mine, it's a good job I like to tinker. It's a great car, just built to a price. Mine is hilarious now, but I've pumped £50+ into it. Could have bought a Losi...

Last night (today for most of you), I went along to the local drift club with my open diffed stock TA05-R. I had so much fun I wanted to stay there all night, but had to go out for dinner for anniversary! So while at dinner ordering meal I bought a Sakura CS D3 chassis kit online! :D :D :D I usually loathe 3Racing but there was a couple there at the club and the guys seemed to be rather happy with them...

Now I need to learn doridori haha

Today I have re tightened the diffs in my DB01R and sorted some of my tools onto their stand again......

Then started to charge up the Turnigy LiPo upto 4.15 per cell for a few practice runs today with some new damper springs and settings etc. See how things perform.....

Then hopefully get to relax and watch the Formula 1 GP this afternoon and the British Superbikes recording for watching later on too :)

Thanks for the suggestion, however we are planning on going a different route.

My brother-in-law is very much into restoring fullsize cars, and has passed his interest down to his sons. My older nephew's pride and joy is a TL01B that he restored himself (with help obviously), and my younger nephew would like to do something similar. He has had a look at my fleet, and likes the look of the DT01 and DT02 cars.

I have agreed to give him a set of spare radio gear, motor and servo to get him started with the project, along with access to my bits box. However what we now need is a DT01 or DT02 roller, condition irrelevant, but as close to free as possible (as he doesn't get much pocket money) for him to restore.

I think I shall put a request in the Wanted section...

DT-01/2 sound like great options, the good thing about the DT-02 is that some of the kits even come with a 380 motor which is ideal for a 5 year old to learn with if you can't limit the performance through other means.

Cleaned the body of the Frog and fixed the wing properly so i have a good runner body while waiting to buy a new one to make box-art. Started working on the original Astute body i bought last week. It was cut out but very poorly.

I dug my 1989 Pumpkin out of the garage, stuck a battery in it, and wheelied it round the garden for the first time in at least 10 years. Even the original Tamiya headlight bulbs (no, not LED's) stil worked. B)

Went to a local ash football pitch for a solo bash.

Sorry for the very poor quality video - it was filmed on my phone in portrait and then cropped to landscape so I lost a lot of quality. I have no excuse for my driving.

Sure am, I am thinking about removing the rally decals to give a street car look. Hope you don't take offence.
