Broke in a brushed motor in preparation for a build. You can see the video of my classic Victor Super IQ in action in the All Things Electric thread.

I let a few kids run my TRF201 up and down the street.

IT SURVIVED without adjusting the Turbo or Boost, I turned down the exp on the TX lol!!!

Buggy in good shape thankfully. When I open my garage kids flock to it, I'm gonna make my neighbors mad

These kids love my R/C models..

Haha I would camp outside your garage if I was a kid too, Rob!

Today went and picked up some rear premounts for my slash, and then went to LHS and got my order of 1.9 Pitbull rock beasts, and a new Gens Ace battery (Iam going to stop buying Turnigy now.) went home and fitted tyres to new wheels and tried to get my Turnigy trackstar combo going, which I think is faulty.

Sold a CC-01 Mitsubishi Pajero body for a price i'm more than happy with . It had been gathering dust so time to move it on . Trying to focus more and keep costs down by being ruthless and selling on anything i actually don't need .

I wanted to upload these pics last Sunday but it's been a busy week here. Today I'll wash my old Clod and WK, and I hope tonight to work a bit in my projects. :)

This is my trusty runner, the Hot Soccer Mom SUV, and my buddy Alan's WK. I was given new shoes for the truck so I'm running it even harder than before. :D

I believe I need to buy one or two new battery packs. My old 20+ year old packs kinda to let me down last Sunday...

Pulled the masking tape off my runner 911 GT2, didn't turn out great but it will probably get scuffed to death anyway when I drive it so I'm not bothered :D

I've got some black wheels with wide rears I can try, will also add the gt2 wing, trim the body posts etc when I get the chance and update the Taisan build thread with this little runner :)

That looks all all kinds of fantastic, Erich! I absolutely love it mate! :D

You have done a fabulous job on that body and the WK chassis and wheels suit it!

Could you please post a pic of it next to you lunchbox and clod buster? I would love to get a size perspective of it, they are 1/12 aren't they?

Installed the electronics in my RM01 and F104W this evening. These are meant for fun and not for racing. I reused old TEU-104BK ESCs and radio receivers, stuck with the 380 and 540 silver cans included with the kits, and used new servos.

The RM01 battery tray is sized for Tamiya's 6.6V 1100 mAh LiFe battery, 55105. I found a Turnigy nano-tech 7.4V 850 mAh 2S LiPo batery that is a little smaller but close enough in specifications. I added some foam spacers in the ends of the battery tray to fill the open space and hold the battery in place, and replaced the battery's connector with a Tamiya/Molex connector so it would work directly with the ESC. The picture doesn't show it, but the battery and motor wires clear the center damper with lots of space underneath.

The F104W is interesting because the receiver and ESC trays pivot to allow for inserting or removing a battery. This means the cabling needs slack to accommodate tray movement.

Hi there Neil. Well, seemingly I can still work a lil more magic here. ;)

Yes, the Wheely King is 1:12 (or that is what HPI say it is, haha).

And you know something, I can talk endlessly about how fantastic this truck is when hitting the dirt, but there's also some extra feeling over it: the truck --or its chassis to be precise- belongs to a guy from AZ who's no longer with us. Makes me wonder if after dying any of my cars will still be providing fun and excitement to somebody, somewhere?

Anyway, I stop the talking here and here's what you asked me for. I hope the pictures will be of use to you, Neil!

I've been hitting up ebay, amazon, and rcmart since this past October hunting for parts for my dream build TRF414. So far I've got all the titanium hardware ordered, fluorine stud, sway bar sets, and few other knick knacks.

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but I was thinking of replacing the entire car's stock bearings for boca bearing yellow seals. This car is meant to be my perfect build so I'm not sparing any expenses. Been doing website searches on old TRF414 and 414M2 maintenance and it seems the only way to get the bearings out of the bulkhead blocks is to boil the parts to release the glue that is holding the bearings in. I'm very hesitant to do this to my NIB bulkhead parts as these are impossible to come by if I screw it up. Any advise would be appreciated.

BTW love that stocker clodbuster. Always loved this classic monster truck.

I need a Clod. I think it might cost me a marriage though...

Received my Mtroniks micro ESC for my Kyosho HOR motorcycle today so I just tested it out before fully fitting it.

D1295E60-888E-421A-9A03-D107DB87AB69_zps

I had to cut off the Tamiya motor cable plugs and lightly solder the wires to the motor terminals to get it connected. All looked good with nice clean joins, hooked up a good reliable 7.2v nimh, switched it on and immediately got the magic smoke from the ESC! :(

Switched off and pulled it apart ASAP, nothing looked wrong from my end, no shorting of wires or bear wire touching the can. I did notice a discharge of oily resin from the ESC where the battery and motor cables exit the ESC.

42348233-375E-4BF4-BD64-CA326FA75E15_zps

Looks like there was a heat build up inside the ESC which melted the resin that waterproofs the unit.

I've since checked all the individual components and they all work fine including the Kyosho motor in another ESC.

I've reconnected this faulty ESC and confirmed it will now allow me to go through the radio calibration setup but no power comes through the motor cables, I've tried 3 different motors just to make sure.

Sooo... I believe the ESC was faulty. I really wish I'd done the test on a spare Tamiya silvercan now so I didn't need to cut the plugs off!

I've contacted the eBay seller explaining the situation and hoping they will be willing to replace the item and I can return the faulty one. Fingers crossed they are decent people :)

What do you guys think? Did I miss anything in the set up?

It's a shame as this ESC is the perfect size for the bike. Flippin bike seems cursed :(

Crispy, I just think it's bad luck. I don't think the bike is cursed. Hang on there (pun intended). On a personal note, I finished part 1 to my first ever video build series. It's in The Builds thread. Check it out and tell me what you think.
