Doesn't look too bad I think silver wheels are next... 21de9659d46d5c52421cfc19c28dba15.jpg

Added a little color, some class the spoiler unpainted goes well with the scheme of things. I think silver wheels are a must.... wish me luck....8acd2c81137d27a9e06f7b1019bf7a9d.jpg5f7e5cf945b7d30c94b7e05ae98739d7.jpgdac4a3cfc023d02588b6b8e8da585047.jpg

I got way too impatient and rushed through a shabby club-racer-style paint job on my Honda City Turbo:

I did not even paint the taillights, having no X-26 or X27 (or even X-6 or X-7) up here, and painting the headlight buckets would have been time-consuming. This is why the Brite Lite decals are on the front lenses! What could I do? I was to leave town in a few days and the urge to get it running was way too strong...

It is the first Willy I have painted completely. My elaborate plans were reduced to this when I realized that I wanted to spend more time driving it - and driving it near its limits. Hence, box-art or Castrol schemes will wait for another shell!

I did end up modifying the front arches - something about the glass brings the shell's nose closer to the front wheels at full lock, and putting on bodyshells is not always a precision task; hence the need for further cutting.

Willy's face is not even dry yet... Regardless, it has been a fun project! Really looking forward to running this one! :D

That's not too shabby at all. Good job!

Looks great! Loving the color :)

Cheers, I wasn't sure at first, I was gonna go with a brighter colour but this dark metallic blue looks nice and understated.

Looks class, love gunmetal grey, I might have gone with black wheels personally though. Would look even meaner :)

Reporting from the field, I took my Honda City Turbo for a long run!

A sweetheart of a driver, surprisingly - the tires gripped well and scrubbed speed when they had to, and was slow enough on the top end to control, especially after wheelies! The front friction shocks bottom out very easily, though, and the front bumper took a beating as I scaled the learning curve. The separately-mounted front air intakes/exits were toast after a few wheelies... Excellent fun, nonetheless - I highly recommend running them!

I've had a really tame day in comparison to you lot....

No painting, no Wheeler work....but I did skip Kick Boxing to put my Sand Scorcher issues to bed.

Steering works again, driveshafts fit nicely and it's ready to rock and roll.

Back onto the Hilux now and then the Wheeler!

I'm watching this with interest as I'm toying with the idea of doing a supra drift car, looking forward to more updates.

This morning I was trying to be the good husband and filled up the back of my truck with rubbish and made a quick trip to the dump on my way to work. As I was unloading my truck I spied a box with a gold wheel poking out in the dump, there was no one else there so I quickly grabbed the box and inside was this:

A rather sad looking TL01, was a subaru once I'm guessing by the wheels. One mans junk is my treasure!! Made my day  I'll make her pretty again

Tamiya have just (re) released the mk4 supra on a TT02D. That will make things easier!

Tried my best to trim a new body with a blade rather than curved scissors. The lines are much cleaner than I'm used to, but I just couldn't get a smooth curve on the wheel arches. They got better as I went along, but you only get 4 tries :-) I don't think I'll be perfecting the craft, guess some sanding is in order.

Sacrilege I know but Hpi does a real sweet supra body. My ta02 is carrying one in mat black.... Not the best paint job but it's a runner.

Ive looked at the HPI supra also and it looks sweet!! Feel like I'm cheating on Tamiya though ;)

Let me think.... I have 5 tamiya bodies on 17 cars..... 3 willys m38...1 wheeler, and a dark impact..... I think when running with 14 chassis by Tamiya a little leeway is due.....

I applied the body stickers to my daughters birthday gift. Pictures do NOT do justice on just how BRIGHT and PINK this body is! Also, these decals must be backed with super glue. I've never seen such strong adhesion in a decal before. I ruined the "Tamiya" on the wing and had to dip into my decal box for a replacement. Not exactly the same but close enough for government work I'd say. So many large decals. Getting them bubble free was a challenge but I think it turned out ok.

Did a first 'rough cut' on some bodyshells, I will go over them with the dremel sanding drum tomorrow (daughter was asleep this evening)

Can't believe I've never used a dremel on polycarbonate before, it works like a dream.

Also shocked to see (again) how many unfinished projects I had shells for. This evening I cut out-

Nissan Skyline R32 - not even sure I have a chassis for this!

Peugeot 306 Maxi - FF02 just needs dampers and tyres

2001 Subaru Impreza - TL01 in bits

Honda NSX - F103GT, been completed and shell-less for ages!

So what I definitely shouldn't have done is ordered

- All the bits to make an M06 up from Banzai Hobby (came to £38 in the end, inc. postage)

- Eunos Roadster Body from Modellbau Seidel (£25 inc. post)

- ABC Hobby mesh wheels from Dinball / RCMart on eBay (£11 inc. post)

I justify it by simply not adding any of it together haha!!

It's not cheating if you use a Tamiya chassis ;)

My RX7 is a hpi body on a TT01IMG_20150507_005055_zps6b6a315c.jpg

Glad you said that! Out of my six Tamiya touring chassis, only one has a Tamiya shell.

Nice choice of colour for your Mazda. I went for the same on my S15. (TT-01 under a Matrixline shell.)

Again not pretty but it will work. 0a0316b9ae20886f875d94c34260b9f3.jpg

Anyone know a good place for magnet body mounts....figure that's the easiest rout forward now.

Bearings arrived today so time for a break down and rebuild...
