Today, I drove 17 miles to my local hobby store to buy some Tamiya PS6 Yellow and PS30 Brilliant Blue for my Laguna BTCC body. Sadly they had no PS30, but I did get some PS6 and a few Tamiya X paints I was running low on. So I cut the Laguna body today and rear wing, genuine pleasure to do as well, the Kyosho lexan seemed thinner than Tamiya lexan in the wheel arch ares meaning that the whole body was a joy to cut.

Ordered some PS30 paint online, so should be able to complete the Laguna body by the end of the week hopefully. :)

Wee pic of where it is atm ......

Actually tempted to jut paint the white disc wheels Brilliant Blue too, or should I look for a set of 18 spoke wheels??

I took the Holiday Buggy for another blast over the woods this evening.

No issues with it all, just lots of sand, mud and muck to clean out.

Good cheap fun!

Can't recall the part number I'm afraid, but a few years back I bought a set of Tamiya metallic blue multispoke wheels. They are plastic, but the finish looks like anodised aluminium. They would look great on this I think!

Took the clodbuster out for its first outing (in my ownership).

I always cringe when I hear an 80's clod roll on to its roof!! Great to see another old clod running :-)

Finally got around to adding a sway bar to my ta05 basher. Starting off with only a soft bar in the rear, looking for just a little over steer.

Naturally it began raining as soon as I finished.

Sorry to hear about the rain. It can be a damper - if the car can stand it, sometimes I cannot!

So I painted some taillights after finding out that I had the appropriate paint this whole time:

Fortunately, I made this discovery before making an order. Charging the batteries I had led to the revelation that they might be giving a little more than I bought them for:

Out went the Honda City Turbo, this time in another city:

The Lancia Rally got a good shakedown afterwards, including over a break in the pavement! Why was this exciting?

The car is still in one piece, and my pants are still dry! It was actually more pleasant than that over undulations.

Look on the bright side, if it had been a C clip, you would still be looking for it ................

This was technically yesterday. I cut out a new body for my Frog since I scored the first one trimming the window masks enough that when I ran it the body split open along the score lines. I'm turning this fragile guy into a shelf queen and will be going box art on the body. I just have to wait for the 40 days and nights of rain we're experiencing to quit so I can paint.

I'm also redoing the head of the driver. I'm filling in the head holes with Tamiya white putty and will repaint the red on the helmet. I just need some non-flat paint red now...

Made 3 universal joint yokes from stainless steel. 14 down, 2 to go ....... :)

I wasn't thinking of a clip particular to the astute, but if you've ever dropped a c clip from an original hotshot based car into a carpet you'll know what I'm talking about ;)

Nothing R/C today :( Got up and took down 2 awful wall lights in the living room, plastered over the holes. Then watched the 3 Moto GP races which were fantastic (awesome job from Danny Kent in moto 3) :) along with a few beers. Lol.

Atm I am buying a few 7mm wheel hexes and some nice limited edition Tamiya Anodised Blue wheels with +2mm offset for my Renault Laguna BTCC bodyset :)

Currently trying to make my sons lunchbox do wheelies. Did all the mods recommended on here, but not convinced about the 5th shock mod. Just seems to stop it doing wheelies, and that's about it.

Noticed that the wheels are turning, but the tyres aren't, so they are currently being glued in place to give better acceleration.

Finished my Black Monster Hornet at last, bought by my wife on Valentines day! This is running 4300kv power. I got my wife to film a short vid which is currently uploading!

I've done a 5th shock mod on this, seems to work better than without. This was bought as a basher to keep the other two limited models as shelf queens, but it's too nice lol!! Anyway, christened it in the video in true Hornet style, thankfully no damage that time!

The Holiday Buggy is all cleaned up ready for its next outing and the Sand Scorcher is all back together now as well.

Missed a cheap Stadium Thunder a couple of days ago and then got out bid on a Hilux Monster Racer tonight.

I randomly bought 6 Ali 85mm shocks, but I haven't got any idea what I will use them on when they arrive...

Today was a rare occasion to run my Astute:

It jumps far better than any other car I have driven, and kicks up enough dust to make me sneeze. The TTC system works superbly. I can drive it farther than any of my other runners despite using the same type of receiver.

The mechanical parts are largely inaccessible once the shell is on, and slipping it on and off is not an easy task, but it again performs far better than any other car I have. This makes running it a special occasion; photo records show that I have only taken mine out five times in three years, including today's session.

The whole experience made me wonder how much of it is actually Astute, as Super Astute and Madcap pieces are present throughout. Lining up for jumps, it even looked a bit like a Madcap...
