They look like Cylons from the new Battlestar show. :o That's not a bad thing.

:)

They are 1/10 scale models of these:

This arrived.

wheely_sunny.jpg

Always been a big fan of the Wheely King truck but not so much the body. Thankfully I had a left over ABC Hobby Sunny pickup shell kicking around from another failed project to test fit. I'll have to pick up another one to butcher for the wheelbase extension, but I've got the aluminum rollbar and wing mirrors for this shell already so I think it'll look fantastic once done. Imcoming "Suncrusher"!

Made a start on the clod project this evening, Picked up a box of clod parts for a bargain and have been collecting parts since. Pulled one of the gear box's apart and checked gears, all in good nick so cleaned up and re greased, couple of wee splits but nothing that cant be repaired. Put it back together with a few upgrades B) Will do the front gearbox tomorrow night :)

The perspex was finally delivered today.

So I have now finished building the display unit.

Cabin is now complete :)

And on the RC front

Have stripped my Mardave meteor shell back, masked it up, going to paint it like the box art

I've actually got the tools out and I did some Tamiya things tonight.

Took the TB02 out of the box from Sandster and trimmed the front arch and the body posts using Chris's Dremel tip.

Fitted the remaining stickers, cleaned off a little over spray, just small fettling jobs and I really enjoyed myself.

A little more to do and then ESC and radio gear next.

Also bought this decal set for it-

It should look like a smaller version of this tomorrow hopefully-

That will look very cool, and certainly different in the field. Look forward to seeing it complete.

That currently can't run because of this little mucker....b7e090d66d980cbef0d52da4303d5759.jpg

Keeps throwing the pin out....any ideas

In the last few days I have stripped the paint from the monster beetle body and repaired the cracks it had with a 2 part epoxy.

I then painted it but wasn't happy with the result. The body was just too scratched and covered in road rash to look good.

I have now started to smooth it all out using p38 body filler. It is beginning to look good now.

Put down the first coat of primer on my Juggy. Then I ran out of primer :(. Not to worry though. Like I say it's a first coat so I'll let it set and then give it a sanding. The primer used was Granville which is very thin and watery. I don't like it. Hycote is better so I'm going to order some.

I'm using Churchills adhesion promoter (plastic primer) which you can get off ebay here in the uk, it's like water, etches the bodywork so you don't lose any definition or detail for use with an airbrush. The paint takes to it really well. Unless of course you're after a build up.

Cheers

Turned out ok I think, the decals were meant for something completely different but they suit the RS1 shell perfectly! The rear spoiler is from the Alfa 155 touring car but again looks just right on the little Audi.

Made some progress on my TL01 bodyshell. Couldn't find the correct decal sheet for reasonable money so had a look at my existing decal hoard... WRC aficionados will not like it because it's not even period correct, but for something to get beaten up around the garden - it'll do!

Got the Centurion (LTD) to this point, all that's needed is the front steering. (Debating original Thundertech hardware or new carbon fiber axle mounted by xtremerc)

Love the new Proline rubber !

Nowt wrong with non-standard colour schemes. Ex-works cars get bought and repainted by privateers all the time, in any number of different schemes both old and new, so you could always say that your model represents such a car.

Finally finished (ish) my monochromatic Hornet. I'm kinda playing it fast and free with the TRF pedigree :P It still needs a a driver figure and a couple of stickers for the lights, but otherwise it's ready to go!

Pulled the Scorcher apart again and I took out the front suspension springs and the torsion bar as I've just pulled the trigger on the some new shocks with springs from R.C Channel.

Fitted my new pinion to the H.B and I've started tidying up the wiring, shortening where I can and I'll swap the connectors and plug at the same time.

Decided I am going to now start to learn how to solder and be a bit more capable in the work shop!
