Enjoy the build, are you going to run the standard silver can or something different?

From all the Tutorials I have watched and discussions on painting, It is a must to do 2 really light coats to start with, This seals the edge of the tape so when you add the heavier coats you don't get bleed :)

Thanks for the tip, I'll give this a try next time :) I had thought I was being careful, doing nice lighter coats; however with the lack of warm weather I might have been rushing. More focus required :)

I may do a sport tuned but not much more than that, this arrived two and a half weeks ahead of schedule so I'm all discombobulated.... Lol

Are you going to run it?

like a bandit, it's the only way I will own an Rc, I have runners primarily only a couple of shelfers, and they are the classics....otherwise what's the point.

I'm pretty sure Berman runs a Wild One on a modest motor with 2S and it goes like stink.

Worth asking him.

Converted my batteries and ESC's to XT60 connecters as I just had my first LiPO delivered. Looking forward to the weekend for my test run!

Took my "winter basher" for a run today. Re-re Lunchbox, with old Traxxas radio gear that seems to be able to survive a few raindrops:

DSCF1923.JPG

Surprisingly hard to get a good wheelie out of it, in all the pine needles. They're slippery. We have two 100-foot-tall Douglas fir trees in our front yard, and this time of year, they drop needles everywhere.

The 'Box ran great, though. Got about 40 minutes of hard running out of a 3000mah pack. Gotta love a good efficient gearbox...

Leaves changing, I wish. Down here its different levels of hot followed by cooler hot. Makes paint easy. LOL.

Which kit?

Yeah I reckon! 13 years of tyre sniffing deprivation and you're not going to divulge? :o

Today I made a start on my trailer (had to start on lounge floor as dining table is taken up with Scania) as I have run out of primer to finish truck cab and need to make a trip to LHS. Trailer to be painted also, so just getting it to that stage.

Just started building my first brand new kit since 2002...

Just this. Small potatoes I know, but this is actually my first build with an ESC, first with 2.4Ghz, even first on NiMh. :o

unimog4.jpg

I built it with a bearing kit, SportTuned motor, Fastrax alloy shocks and Pro-Line tyre foams. I was going to do the 5th shock and FX-10 front-end mods too, but I'll need to get a couple of extra bits from my local model shop to make those happen, hopefully tomorrow.

Some of you may have spotted that it's got white wheels (they're chrome ones in the kit) and alloy mounts for a Lunchbox shell. That's because I hate painting Lexan shells almost as much as I love Unimogs, so until I get round to that I'll be fitting a new LB shell that I've already finished. Pics of that tomorrow too.

Everyone needs a lunchbox/CW-01! The white wheels get an extra tick from me, have had a set in my watchlist for a while as they are a nice alternative to the more expensive chrome versions B)

Photographed this for the showroom.

There are only 2 on TamiyaClub and of those one of them has had the bodyshell swapped for something else!

So pretty unloved all-round!

I incorrectly assumed this had a 225mm wheelbase so I could use the body for bashing my MF01-D project, but alas it is 239mm (or L) wheelbase.

I'm thinking of selling this on, as it is in mint just-built condition, but I don't know what it would even be worth?

Sorted out my recent wheel & tyre haul from the bay, I've sold half of them already, these are the ones I'm keeping :)

Didn't think it was going to look that awesome... I think you should start building more kits and not leave it another 13 years yeah?
