Wrestled the inner wheel parts into some new Super Champ (Frog) tyres - wasn't as bad as the last set i did, didn't even have to resort to fairy liquid or warming the tyres. I now need to find the anodized alloy outer sections (bought 4 years ago, when i started to think about the restoration  )

And dropped another order with Banzai, the price of the Yokomo Super Scale motor was too good to resist. So that's 12 Banzai orders in 17 days :(:(:(

Ugh - had to do two sets recently... my fingers still hurt thinking about it! In fact, I rubbed off so much skin onto the tires I still have to clean them off at some point with alcohol or something to remove the white dead skin residue. Eeewww...

I was a little surprised, especially as the tyres were pretty cold after being in the unheated garage overnight.

Now i will have to wash them off as all the tyre mould release agent has turned to dusty white residue - grrr. Was going to white the side wall lettering but not sure i want to be bothered, even with Gelly Roller to hand

Hmm "turned to dusty white residue" are you sure that isn't dead skin? The mold release agent usually starts as white powdery residue... but afterward the white stuff was smeary and gross and coming off in tiny lumps, not dust-like. Maybe it's a mixture of dead skin and mold release agent now...??

I think I need to order new Gelly pens as both of mine seem to be dry despite having plenty of ink visible. The ink comes out pretty chalky and I have trouble not rubbing off where it's already gone on. Sometimes I hit a vein and it flows out too fast... the rest of the time it comes out dry. Will order another and know for sure when it comes...

Finally put the decals on my Neo Fighter, in preparation for the arrival of it's younger cousin.

I recovered the paint job with a bit of body cleaner, but I'll scratch the choices down to experience :P

Had my bits turn up to try sort the steering on my dual brushless hunter

After this fun at the weekend I managed to get one esc a bit too wet .. It dried out ok but I noticed the steering was even worse than normal ..

After some reading and chatting to nitro I ordered a servo saver .. Ally mounts and a metal gear servo

233EB1BD-0F0D-411B-86E6-D3CB5735B69E.jpg

Maybe I should have got the Tamiya or the slightly larger kimbrough servo saver

It's about 4mm shorter and the steering throw is reduced

The difference is amazing .. I cannot turn the servo powered down and the saver moves first.. The play is 70 percent less than stock saver and cheap servo

And it drove like a different beast . I may swap the saver for the bigger one but apart from that very happy on the quick test run in the dark

There was also some talk on other parts of the forum on lipo safety .. I change mine in a cake tin and store in oven pots or lipo bags

Added my new blue wheels to my DT02 and treated it to some new tyres. If it will stop doing wheelies then perhaps the spikey front tyres will help turn-in?!

So I dug this old TT01 out the other day and decided to refresh it with a new chassis. I'd like to say this was rescued from eBay but sadly the 16-year-old me was responsible for this mess. Pro-tip everybody - don't paint a chassis with yellow paint, it looks ridiculous.. Gawd knows what was going through my mind. Still, all sorted now.

You know what? This will decimate all, after you put about fifteen grand in it or more, If we have to, overnight parts from Japan. :)

Yes!

I was making a stock Supra to sit alongside my R34 Skyline, but The Fast and Furious had a major influence on me growing up, so I thought I'd go down this route. Trying to find a couple of WWE figures that look like Vin Diesel and Paul Walker haha!

A supra. Fantastic! One of my favourite japanese performance cars and one which I was lucky enough to have owned. Looking forward to this.

Finally got around to adding decals to my Unimog body (as much a palaver as those of the FJ pick up), still got to weather it over the weekend and add lights

Struggling finding a rectangular light bucket for the rear, the round ended axial ones I have are a bit too small :(. Any ideas ???

Added decals do the killerbody Rubik shell that will hopefully fit nicely on my CPE clod 😃

Four hours gone but do feel I've made progress towards finalising a couplle of long standing projects

Realised recently I had enough spares to build a second ta-03f-s so set about it, this is how far I got, only need some extra pulleys, and a shell and appropriate mounts and it will be good to go. As yet undecided whether to keep it short wheelbase or make it a standard touring car wheelbase.

Finished the xhassis build on my rere bruiser tonight, not a happy boy.... for some reason the gears aren't shifting right. It will be a couple of weeks before I get to the body I'm sure but wife is already talking about a beach run. Think it might be the wild one her blitzer tribute and a mad bull and hornet outing. I wont risk Willy by the water. Its a bit chilly. Not north sea chilly but scared turtle chilly for sure.

Installed lights into the Unimog shell (using Axial left over light buckets); painted and added a Bruiser interior, and then gave it a little weathering..

Still got mirrors and wipers to add, but they'll go on just before dropping it on the chassis.

Then finished the decals on the shell for the CPE mod Clod..

I installed my hobby wing 1060 esc into my Aqroshot along with a reedy rado 17t motor, not much of a difference in speed compared to my Tamiya super stock bz. I think I prefer the super stock to it.
