That's a really cool idea!, I will look into doing that next! should be doable.

I don't run it that low, or haven't yet, just the widest point on the arms, might try it on road though although you have to account for some squat in the rear under acceleration. I just have it that low so when its sitting on the shelf it looks super low and mean lol!

For the brake light you can buy remote switches . You could use a y harness to add it to the throttle channel or add to a 3rd channel and mix that to the throttle

I may have just gotten myself a night or two in the dog house.  I ordered up an MF-01X Mercedes-Benz G 320 Cabrio for the wife.   Her birthday is in a month.  A couple of weeks ago she made a sideways comment about having to use the loaner truck when the family went out R/Cing.  This model should give her the ability to run on any surface.  She loves luxury brands (BMW in particular) so I figured Mercedes > Suzuki.  Her favorite colors are green and purple so I plan to paint it with PS-46.  That soft top has me a little stumped though.  Is there a flat paint I can lay down on the outside of the shell to make it look "fabricy"?  Last but not least, I ordered up a Tactic TTX403 stick controller because she no-likey the pistol grip controllers.

Tamiya do a flat clear for polycarbonate, I used it on my Kombi. Use the overspray film as the mask. Very very effective

I've finished the bodywork for my vintage Hornet buggy. Chose a color combination the camera can't capture and show-sadly. I also been working on my vintage Frog. Its gearbox is only missing one of the small spider gears to work properly. I stuck a sweet Kyosho motor from the 80's in it, looks so cool.

Not long from today I'll have all three 1984 musketeers ready and running! (Hornet, Frog, and Grasshopper)

Tamiya 1984 RC buggies restoration projects (vintage) photo IMG_7596_zpsqysi44lz.jpg

When I returned to the hobby years ago I never cared much for these humble buggies. My attention was captured by the more snobbish models in the Tamiya catalog, Bruisers and Sand Scorchers, etcetera. I find it so funny now to me I can now say the more the hip, the less the fun when running those sought-after models. Most the cars you dreamed of back in the day aren't half as fun to run than a Frog or a Hornet, a Pumpkin or a Blackfoot. That said, since I am not into bashing those cars as I do own and LOVE Bruisers and Scorchers myself.

Anyway, here's a sideview of my finished Hornet buggy:

You'll be surprised to see who's driving this buggy. Some huge rock star. Have a look at my Hornet body thread to see the detail ;)

Edit: Here's the link to my entry from years ago with how I came to do the driver: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=115042&sid=23692

I also worked the vintage SRB chassis I got some months ago. I have to find a way to strip this body... seven layers of paint is no easy task, is it ever!

Many thanks to my good friend TCer beefmuffin, who kindly donated the windows (too bad they broke in transit, be sure my friend I'll make the car look GOOD in the end) as well as the wheels.

And here's the other one I have to strip down and restore. No time to go down on it yet, too many projects, too much to do, and I still have to turn to my two custom vehicles that are now waiting on the backburner. You'll see those turning up here in the forums anytime now. ;)

I guess I must be going now. Tomorrow I'm taking the Hot Soccer Mom out for a spin. I've de-blocked the rear differential as I'm expecting some stunts and a bit of speed just for fun! :D

You all will have a fantastic weekend! :)

I spent the day sorting through some of my spare parts, turns out I had enough bits to build almost a complete FF-02!

Just need the chassis extension piece and some rear tyres and she's ready for my Peugeot 306 Maxi.

Today, I drew up a course of action:

208i92c.jpg

I have finally finished school and hope to start working soon, which would put some cash into these ventures. In the meantime, these projects are among the more elaborate ones I wish to complete.

Most importantly, though, I wanted to see what a Striker could look like with Frog front suspension! I mean, the Striker and its poor swing-axle front suspension claims to be styled after contemporary F1 cars, and the Frog claims to use a front suspension similar to F1 cars, too...

Spent a couple of hours putting the Landfreeder through its paces in Richmond Park😃

Also won a M-chassis Mini on ebay✌️ Now need to find out exactly which M-chassis,and what bodies I can fit to it🤔

I sold my MK1 Sorcher this morning to a T.C member.

I hope he enjoys it as much as I have over the last 3 years or so.

I've still got 11 models, with a few big hitters in there so I'm not hard done by 😉

Dremeled, hacked and sanded the Pajero's wheel wells and ended up wounding myself.

Also, got a new second-hand TT01E to convert into a cup racer. My old chassis is getting wonky and old, and I got this whole barely usedcar for the price of a new bathtub for the old TT.

Fantastic. I think a working brake light would be pretty neat, sort of formula 1 stylee at the back. Not sure how possible that would be.

I noticed your're running really low there. Is that shocks set to widest point on the arms and narrowest on the towers? How'd you find it handles? Are they stock towers? I had some alloy yeah racing towers but the front one was definately style over function so im trying the tamiya FRP ones. Hopefully here soon.

I have added a brake light, I've kept it minimal, works on application of the brakes, and inspired by the f1 rainlight/brakelight which I had stuck in my head since you suggested it.

Chassis done , Just need Paint for the body .

Great after noon building . Don't like the cheap ( cheesey ) shocks . Need to space the front wheels , as they slide

on the axles . The rubber boots don't fit the cva side & will allow dirt in , If you put zip tie on it will be out of ballance !.

""GOOD"" job this is to go on shelf , As i am waiting for the Blackfoot ( had one as kid 2nd hand )  . Want too run

the blackfoot , but will put on upgrade parts on etc . ( Will run it stock 1st ) .

Built my rere hot shot last night and tonight, a cool car to build. Now I'm thinking either box art red with white wheels or black with gunmetal grey wheels . Cant decide going to sleep. 1.15 am is not the time for paint schemes

Finally got my Optima body done last night. Generally pleased with it, as well as could be expected perhaps.
