Put the new livery on my lunchbox today. It's a race theme I've liked for a long time, JPS (John player special). I had some gold wheels and a spare black shell so it all worked well together. I'm going to give it a coat of lacquer when the weather gets warmer to give it a nice glossy finish too.

Nice color and overall design for the Lunchbox, Terry!

I LOVE the wheel & tire combination. Wheels look GREAT shiny gold!

Oh god, my first ever Tamiya back in 86/87. It's coming back you know? ^_^ No it is, isnt it Mr T? :D

Today I started the Repsol Cosworth. Only got 20 mins in and wished I'd never started. Carried on and 4.5 hours later got the worst out the way.

Had to cut some decals out and temporary stick them to the outside of the shell. Then flip the shell over and mark on the inside where the masking will go for the different colors. Then had to cut my own window masks, not a straight forward job. Then mask up and paint for each color.

:@.@:

Black pen marks will be covered by the decals.

I suppose NOW is not the time you want to hear from me that I have the wing sprue in Flouro Orange, all yours if you like, it is missing the mirrors, otherwise NIP

Well spotted on the WRC spoiler. I've looked at a few on eBay UK and the price they want is not something I'm prepared to pay so opted for the WRC spoiler for now. The opening question here is how much? As your in the states, postage to the UK is a contributing factor in price.

Feel free to PM me.

As the TBG shell is the Escort WRC not the Cosworth (oval grille and different front bumper with small, round fog lights) I'd keep the WRC wing and do the Repsol version of the WRC. It won't be quite right with the coloured areas and sponsors but at least the body shape will be consistent.

The dead giveaway on the TBG body is the rear bumper - the original is rounded with the crease and exhaust recess:

Thanks Truck Norris.

This will be my 3rd Escort shell build using the TBG shell. The first just happened to be the WRC Escort using genuine Tamiya decals and a TBG shell. The Tamiya decals matched up 100% with the grills. It was only when I did a Michelin Pilot shell with MCI decals, then I realised that there were 2 different shells as you suggested and 2 different grill decal types.

The Escort range MCI grill decals are suited to the WRC shell, not the Cosworth.

FInally got time to drive again! Put the "Ten-Scorcher" through its paces. Still a great car to drive, but it's showing its age and the fact that I built it from leftovers and junk. Might be time to reuild it again...

Sweet Terz! Can't condone the ciggie advertising though! I'm waiting for the news that a meteor is heading to Earth to probably wipe us all out and we've only 2 hours till it hits... I'll find a tobacconist on the way home and start smoking again ;)

Thanks. It's that black and gold colour combo and writing style I liked. Never smoked . Suppose it's something we'll never see again. A bit of history but probably for the best. Oh not heard about that meteor yet so no trip to the tobacconist for you. Lol

Thanks Erich. This is meant to be the spare shell and wheels for running, so they would take the bumps and scrapes and leave the box art shell, wheels and tyres untouched for the shelf. Hope it stays okay at least for a little while.

I made the mistake of paying attention to my eBay notification. And bought a very tidy Ta06r with hop ups and extras. Not sure what it will go under but definitely not the next shell it's coming with. Probable the new Dodge challenger shell I have coming. We shall see. I have a rather nasty habit now of bidding and hoping I'm not that lucky. But it never seems to go in the other guys favor. Oh well another one for Dojo Dave's house of tidy toys. Might have to hide this one for a little bit not that the misses will mind just don't really need another.

Painted up a Sand Viper "chassis cover" for my Holiday Buggy. My can of black ran out after 1 light coat, so I had to back it with gunmetal. No worries, as it hides under the HB shell anyway.

I have a tidy and never painted or touched Datsun 280ZX body here, would suit that RWD chassis a treat, after you widen the rear axle width etc. Just sayin and I am in the USA, so shipping won't kill either of us.

Yesterday, but what the hey, I put a motor, esc and receiver into my TRF 201 (original version).

It drives really well. Kind of surprised. Very much like the B4, which it is a copy of anyhoo.

Ran my Hotshot re-re for only the 2nd time and 1st time for over a month and a half!!! Weather has been horrible here and I've been super busy so was excited today. I couldn't run it on the dirt (baseball field) because it was still soggy from all of the wet weather but that is fine. What a cool car!

I finished my Holiday Buggy today. It is all ready to go out on its first run.

Also made an offer and won an old Futaba Attack R tx. My 10 year old likes the stick tx, so I'll be using this on the Holiday Buggy when it gets here. This means I will have a spare 2.4ghz Tx/rx.  This is really not helping me because it means I will have to buy a kit to go with it...which is the reason I got the HB in the first place ;) I need to win the lottery so I can continue in this hobby!

(Yesterday)

Had my Monster Beetle out along with my nephew and his Lunchbox so I could try out my new 'Action' cam on a mini tripod I got for xmas.

On the plus side the MB seems nice and reliable now, the gearbox braces coupled with the 2005 Frog universals seems to be doing the job.

Well, after running my TRF201, I decided to get my B4 up and running, see how it compares.
I had a Castle Mamba Max esc combo sitting around doing no much so plonked that it there.
Took ages to get it working right as the calibration is a pain and it didn't like the way my radio is set up.

Took it outside for a test, the B4 handles very well, such a great design/buggie. The Mamba Max? Cue wheelstands and a tire coming off the rim when I was anything less than attentive.
Looks like I'll have to dial that one back a bit.
Honestly, what are they (Mamba Max) actually useful for?

I replaced all of the bushings with bearings except for the ones in the steering in my TT01e. Curious to see how much better it drives now.

Big Bear metal parts soaking in a mixture of white vinegar and salt to help remove corrosion and years of gunk. It's actually doing a decent job.
