Our local 'Recycling Centre' actually has a shop where they sell things deemed to be too good to go in the skip.

Wow!

That actually makes sense! Although I'm guessing electrical goods won't be?

I got a vax out of a skip years ago and served me (and new unit owner) as a workshop vac quite well.

There is collection container for bicycles, but a local "Recyke-a-bike" get them, refurb them and sell them for charity.

Put the batteries in my new Core Radio and paired it to the Rx.

Servos work wrong way round and I don't know if it has Servo Reverse?

I guess it will have I just haven't found it yet.

I've been struggling with my motivation for 3D designing so I figured I'd take a bit of a break... and build up one of my MIP Super Ball Diffs then put my Mud Blaster back together. It's been half disassembled for the last few years because, well, I had "plans" to do something special to it. Unfortunately "plans" don't equal "skills" and/or "funds"... :( Nevermind tho, it's back together and [almost] back in action. :)

edit:

More pics on my Facebook page. Thanks for looking. :)

And a BIG Thank You to AMPro/Pintopower for doing your diff build vid. I built mine whilst watching it. I gotta say that that's a real handy tip to use the grease on the end of your screwdriver to pick up the diff balls. [Thumbs Up]

Not only servo reverse, but servo speed during its sweep (adjustable graph on led display) and also End Point Adjustment , which you can adjust,to adjust where to servo stops, it's end point.

You've got some reading of the manual to do! 😀

Well over the past two weeks I've been a little bit Naughty... I bought not 1, but 2 more 58035 original Wild Willy jeeps... the first I thought mint chassis  and 3 perfect tires and rims (stripping paint on rims now). And the other a near mint body with a runner chassis. Take them all apart shuffle it about a bit and....

Tadaa. The rims and tires that are on it in the picture are reproduction tires I bought a few years back and the rims are off another car. The wheels I'm stripping will most likely go back on this car or another one near by. The spares chassis is going in the chop shop box for parting out. So if you're looking for WW parts give me a shout.

Thanks. The pic makes it look like a much brighter yellow than it should. It's actually TS34 Camel Yellow which is a slightly orange-ish yellow which contrasts really well with the orange-ness of the decals.

Figured out what was off about my M06 build after test driving it.  Got the springs mixed up, really have to glue the tires, camber settings, don't gun the throttle....

Good find!

Alas, we can't do this anymore at our tip, they've put CCTV everywhere, and it's now classed as theft, as once it's in a skip, the council own it.

In NZ we can , They sell the stuff . But In Aus they don't , But i'm lucky i live in a very small town & i know

the guy that runs it . Plus he also knew it came from where i lived and had put it aside for me .

So why don't they sell  the stuff and that would help fund the tip ?? .  This is what recycling is all about ,

But they do go over board on price , it's costing them nothing & keep the free stuff cheap to sell . It will

sell . Helps running the tip .

I'm from NZ , it was great to go to the dump as we called it .  HAHA window shopping << Well it was of sort  :)  .

Funny , it was a family trip to the dump & some times you came back with more than you took  .

Some of the stuff that got dumped was like new ,  Car parts , pushbike parts all sorts of stuff , great times :D .

They still sell it berman ? . As it's changed from when i was there 22 years ago i'm sure .

NZ has had that for years . Great to get pushbike , car parts etc , when i was young << yes a very long time ago :P .

This is how NZ helped to pay for the dump running costs . The stuff was cheap , Not to sure now ha .

Thee good old days .

I think most people would agree with you! My first Walkman (showing of age!?!) was found in a skip at the back of an electrical store, with the front cover ripped off, but it played tapes fine.

Found this :- https://www.businesswaste.co.uk/theft-from-rubbish-tips-and-recycling-centres-on-the-rise/

Theft or not, I'm not sure I could see an RC car in a tip, without trying some kind of rescue plan!

Finished off the Repsol.

It sits nicely on a TA-01 which I've pretty much rebuilt. New chassis, new front and rear gearbox assembly, rc bearings and upgraded prop shaft and cups.

Cut out my third lexan shell in 25 years today. Hope it's my last. I would rather perform my own vasectomy with a rusty spoon than cut out another hateful polycarbonate nightmare.
