Stripped some nasty paint off some mint wheels, and put them along with two I already had on the most recent WW. Now I have a dilemma. I have completed an almost perfect WW. Unpainted body and driver. And on a decent budget. My dilemma is someone want to buy it for a fair price... kinda stuck so probably just auction of one of my less than perfect ones. 4 in the stable and one growing in my spares box.

You can sell me 4 food outer wheel pieces and I'll buy you the ones off shapeways :)

Just superglued two fingers together.

Given what happened here I'm disappointed by the lack of spelling mistakes caused by mashing a keyboard with a digit that's too wide.

Cut out my third lexan shell in 25 years today. Hope it's my last. I would rather perform my own vasectomy with a rusty spoon than cut out another hateful polycarbonate nightmare.

YEEEEOUCH, that doesn't sound pleasant in the least. I thing if you want a NIGHTMARE polycarbonate body cutting out story, go for the M chassis VW Beetle, THAT is not fun in the least to me, all curves...

Boy did I LOL on that Zom and Stroker, DON'T let the wife know about that sticky super glue or she is liable to glue your mouth shut??? At least MINE would want to now and again.

Front end mounted to the upper chassis,  MSC and steering servos mounted (super clean and hardly any wear). The daughter BEC circuit board is a thing of beauty it's so clean. Motor spins wonderfully. Probably hasn't spun a gear in 20+ years.

Vintage Gearbox tree will be here tomorrow and I have a NIP vintage set of front wheels and tires en route. Just need to get a set of rear oval blocks.

Stripped 5 layers of paint of a pretty sweet WW body. Easy off... thanks Mud. Then I sanded, washed scrubbed, registration stripped. Washed sanded until I was happy. Painted a beautiful first coat. Let it dry. Then put my big thumb in the second coat.  Time to restrip.

Well it was over the weekend, but I did start to organize my wife's side of the closet(well actually 2/3rds the closet)

and then in a semirelated post, the postman brought me a bundle of bits from abroad and now I have piled it onto my M04 "workstation" as I am calling it

Yes, I wrote this for Tamiyabase: https://tamiyabase.com/blog/scratch-building/204-modifying-tamiya-bodies.html

Also, if you check my showroom I write chapter and verse on each model so there's useful info there too.

Body lines are done with Kyosho 0.4mm tape.

Thank you, that's just what I was looking for!  Amazing builds and I'm really happy you've shared a how-to for the rest of us mortals to try and come close to your finished result ;)

Reversed the servos on my new Core R/C and re calibrated the ESC to work

properly with new Tx.

Ordered a set of Digital Calipers to help with body fixings.

I built my re released Monster Beetle over the weekend. The last kit I built was the Optima, and I have to say the Monster Beetle build was somewhat a let down compared to that one. I do love how it looks though, it's such a wonderful and silly thing that captures the essence of fun. And it was tons of fun in the snow with a 17t brushed Reedy.

Long wait for the Big Wig now lol ;)

Didn't realise that they would look that convincing with the rebranded stickers! I'm well impressed :)

I hear what you say about the difference between the Optima and the monster beetle I built them the other way around (MB first) and it was my first kyosho RC and I must say it has to be my favourite build to date(and that's a lot of builds over a lot of years:)) and the only thing that comes close to it is the Tamiya SRB's!

I totally need to get one of those MAF motors. I ordered one about a month ago from Howe's and had to cancel as I didn't specify overseas shipping. Doh...

Lifted my new-kit embargo to allow one purchase. Having a rough time at work, and decided a little "retail therapy" was in order.

MF-01X Suzuki Jimny kit now en route.

Off-topic I know, I just happen to love your kit shelves on the back. For a second the picture took me back to the good old days! :)

What an absolute sweetheart of a build/restoration. My new old stock vintage gearbox tree came in today so I was able to nearly get her all together.

I got to finally hear the "whhhirrrrr" of the Hotshot and its 4wd prop shaft. And it works so smoothly! Never in my day did I want one, but now I fully understand what's so special about this car. This thing is a big gal! Heavy, lots of parts and I understand why she cost a lot more back in the day vs. the 2wd entry level stuff.

The mechanical speed controller is amazingly smooth for 30 year technology and runs through all three speeds wonderfully after a little polishing and clean up. The ceramic resistors are all soldered and heat shrink tubing sealed. Probably the cleanest electronics/ wiring installation I've ever done.

New vintage front wheels and tires will be here shortly and just need the rear tires (probably wheels too since they're so cracked). Currently working on painting the fog lights. I fubar'd the original "KC" decals and hopefully can source those soon. Still need to drill out the antenna hole in the body and polish/paint the mast.

So, so happy with this resto :)
