I placed an order with Tamiya USA for one of these:

04.10.2017-08.02.png

I'm going to build it for my daughter so she has something other than her Pink Neo Scorcher when we go out as a family to drive on-road rigs.  She feels out of place a little with a buggy mixed in with my TA-07, her mothers MF-01X, and her brothers TT-02.  She really enjoyed the on/off road ability of the MF-01X.  I believe this is built to rally chassis specification so it'll fit right in during a family bash session.  I plan to use the HobbyWing QuicRun 1060 ESC and Sport Tuned motor I have in my bits box along with an Arrma ADS-5v2 waterproof servo that they sent me as a warranty replacement but I never used.  I have a TT-02 CVA kit in bound from Hong Kong and a Tactic TX300 transmitter/receiver from an eBay auction I won for <$40.  I'm going to paint it up with the PS-50 I bought a while back on a lark.  She loves her pink so that'll work well.

Picked me up a temporary display case to clear the house up of some RC cars and drones sitting around.

Eventually when the older daughter moves out and I get a man cave, It will become the wife's knickknack shelf

How do you build it to rally spec? This looks very sensible for your daughter ;)

Can't speak to the TT-02 rally chassis, but the TL-01 RA which was, as far as I can find, an RTR with a subaru rally body on a TL-01 LA, it had spire spike (or similiar) tyres on the front star dish wheels from the likes of the rising storm, I think (not 100% on this) the mini cva's were built slightly longer than the standard TL-01 LA.

From what I've seen, rally cars gain their ride height from firstly the rally block tyres, secondly from shock length, and possibly from wheel axle placement in the hub carriers

Got a decent run on the clod today since it's gone white (painted).

Stock suspension, Silvercans, HW860, 3S...

Using my phone as a GPS speedometer it hit 15.53mph this afternoon. not as quick as when it ran Super Stock BZs on 3S but as fast as the chassis can handle in stock guise.

Got to love those pneumatic bounce bump steer 2 wheel sketchy moments and rollovers.

#Edit end of the run had a bad rollover and cracked the body. Managed to find the only bit of concrete in a sea of grass.

Unexpectedly, I had the opportunity for some Tamiya time. Time to finish trimming my Bowler body! Except that I can't remember where I have put it...

So decided to start trimming the body for my m chassis project. Armed with a Tamiya scriber II I soon discovered that, as it says on the back of the pack, smooth and gentle is the way.

Almost zen like calm is the key. I bought two of these Kamtec bodies to practice on bit I think that with some tidying, this one should do OK. Very pleased so far.

I swapped an old Scalextric set for this today, that's another FF02 for the collection! I think the Alfa 156 is a great looking car but I'm not keen on the peeling decals. I'm going to remove them and see about finding some suitable replacements for a different look.

Hate and the tortoise, the tortoise won in the end and you've one foot on The rostrum already! I'm waiting for some heli tape to line the roof edges on my hard body, will this be a runner on your TB01?

I"ve been looking over the manual, my daughters TT-02B and my sons TT-02.  From near as I can tell we just flip the hub carriers upside down to go from touring car ride height (low) to rally ride height (high).  The TT-02B uses a different upper suspension arm configuration and different damper towers to allow for longer shocks.

Another couple of sessions and I'll be there, I reckon. The first wheelarch I opened (not in shot) wasn't as good as the second. This has a short wheelbase so is set for an m chassis currently in the assembly phase.

The TB01 will get a Subaru rally body when I get more practice trimming bodies and painting - want to do it justice and I have a long project queue - something I wanted to avoid when I embarked on this hobby!

Had an enjoyable day in work!?! 😮, zero traffic on the commute, no gaffer's, no major breakdowns, so , managed to get the esc and servo in the bullhead! 😎 (

One of the young team nipped out and came back with a big tray of Krispy Kreme, and I had a couple of 2s lipo's in the boot, so spent the afternoon stuffing my face, drinking brews and bashing!! 😀

Although, with a few people taking control of the sticks, the pristine body took a few knocks

But, gauging by the reactions, a few more tamiya's will be sold!

....... wait isn't olive drab the norm??

as for me, got aluminum shocks installed on my lunchie project and went to a nice state park with the family and drove my CW01 around for a bit..... then realized the battery wasn't fully charged, also remembered why I didn't drive it much(they had the poly paints mixed in with the plastic paints when I bought it and after a couple of wheelies the paint on the rear of my uni bid I was flaking)..... shoulda taken the lunchie instead. :(
