Tbh, she was ok until about car 15 🙄, moving house from a double to a single garage meant the collection became more, concentrated. Those parts were hidden in her office/workshop and as I'm using the loft, garage, shed, summer house, utility room and (fresh delivered goodies) kitchen for RC (and 1:1) storage, she may have a point......đŸ€”

Had a better test of my brushless Nikko Dictator

It's very dusty now but it was worth it lol.

Part way through the bash I tried a donut but one of the tyres tore from expanding so much, luckily I have tons of spares of this type that I got through facebook a while back. The damage affected the stability quite a lot!

Then after that part of the body shell started rubbing on the rear wheel, I used the old beaten up shell and part of it was basically flapping around but I tucked it back out the way and it was good to go.

I didn't really use full throttle for more than a second or two at any given time, it definitely has more than enough power for a Nikko!

I ended the video when I hit some stones and rolled it but I carried on driving for quite some time. Then I made a second video on tarmac but because the tyre was causing handling issues I didn't open it up very much. I'll add the video in the next post though.

And here's the tarmac vid, the torn tyre was causing havoc with straight line stability but I managed to open it up briefly on a few of the passes. The top speed is pretty good, more than I'll ever need I think, especially in a Nikko!

Wow, looks even better with the body off! Those cartoon eyes are too funny, if you have the inclination do a thread on it, and good tip on the French thing, how do you check there???

If you set the item location to worldwide it should include most of the french listings. It even shows some of them if you don't choose worldwide if you're using the desktop version of the site, there's usually nothing in the uk so it suggests international items in the search results.

Had a closer look at the Wild Dagger. Will definitely need a good clean but couldn't see anything obvious that needed replacing. Gearboxes turned freely. Only thing I did notice was a fair bit of movement in the steering servo mounts. Will have to investigate that.

Also had another couple of hours on the Boomerang. Hopefully after my next session it'll look like a car.

Somewhere on here there is a thread about @waterbok's servo mount...

Did you post before about a replacement body? Saw this on another thread -

3. From Tamiya, Wild Dagger, Twin Detonator, Mighty Bull, Overlander, Mud Blaster etc (last 3 come in a finished version) are some alternatives.

This looks just as fast as many modern.  buggy, and it handled both surfaces really well you must be pretty pleased;)

@Badcrumble I have seen the thread about the alternate servo mount. I believe it requires trimming the chassis which I wouldn't really want to do as I'm bound to mess it up :D

When I get round to pulling it apart I'll have a closer look.

I probably will be after a new body for it at some point. Have found the thread you quoted from, will have a read through.

Put some cab decals on the Scania R620 or should I say my wife did them for me.

The black bracket you can see at the bottom of the cab is the tilt hinge that gets fitted to the lower front

of the cab.

I was very pleased. I think it's a testament to this very underrated chassis that it handled twin brushless motors with no other modifications apart from a hobby servo and ball bearings. I'm surprised how well the friction shocks coped although it gets a bit bouncy at times. Some oil dampers are on the way from China.

So many people carve the gearbox casing out so a 540 motor will fit but I never thought it was necessary with modern brushless motors and my suspicions were correct.

What I've done today is find out that test running a clod without a body or bumpers on can be confusing when you forget which end is which. Smacked it into my sofa whilst testing by hitting the tx stick by mistake. Bent some aluminium, cracked a piece and maybe just maybe possibly bent an outdrive. Althogh hard to tell as clod wheels shake the chassis when run in the air anyway. It's going in for project phase Two soon so I'll strip down that gearbox and double check. Hope I don't need new outdrive shafts at thirty quid a bag.

I have quite a lot of Clod spares if you need anything - just drop me a PM.

When you say outdrive shaft, do you mean the gearbox output with the dogbone end or the wheel axle ?

Ah thanks mate.

Not worked it out yet. I previously caught a wheel and suspect one if the axles is bent just a little but the way this last impact happened the axle tubes would've flexed I think so it's possible the gearbox shafts may be off true. I'm going to take it to bits when I build up the next chassis. Thanks again, I'll drop you a line if I get stuck for spares.

I'm never going to give the benefit of the doubt to a silver can motor run on a nimh battery ever again...it was so slow I was twiddling my thumbs and half ended up watching trash blow by it was more interesting... yawn city!!!!

I wasted a lunchtime on this with my new DF02,  trying to be all retro and true to the eighties, nineties or naughties .. never again people... brushless is where it's at, just like I always knew but today I tried to pretend it isn't.... again. (Hornet 3 months ago was yawn city too before it got the 3s lipo treatment)

No disrespect to all the silver can and nimh battery drivers :) (on a small twisty area it's probably more fun just not a wide open space where it seems slow)

Had to get the ramp out to liven it up

Ha. I remember taking my tt02b out and thought mm, this is ok, but then got bored. Then put in a firebolt. Mm, this is faster, but then got bored. Then brushless. Mm, this is very fast. And broke lots of parts ha ha. And I still want it faster!

Running stock silver cans on my lowered Clod but it's dual esc, dual motors of course, and dual lipos. So 4s on board but it's not really 4s. It's fast for a clod and surprisingly I'm not bored of it. I think because it can drive over lots of terrain, even in my small garden with its turning circle. It's fun. I'm toying with sticking in firebolts as they're pretty much zero timed from what I can gather but I'm concerned about losing the torque. . I'm not going brushless on it as that chassis geometry set up, even fully aluminium won't suit it. I've plans for another full mod clod and that'll be dual brushless and probably a complete animal, and another flying bag of soon to be broken parts like the tt02b

Worked on my "track" in the backyard.  Trying to keep it sort of low key to blend in with the surroundings but I find myself want to go all out on it.  The dirt part leads down to jump with a tight turn after it with a berm that needs to be way bigger, back onto short grass, a short section of ashpalt, and then back up the short grass around the big pine tree.  It's technical!  :)

Still tweaking the jump and probably going to add another one somewhere

I know that feeling, the TT02B quickly got upgraded to brushless and lipo wasn't far behind. Silvercans or torque tuned get slow quick. The one exception is the Novafox, that has the kit silvercan because it needs long wires which come on the kit motor and I'm too lazy to change one of the other motors over but it is surprisingly quick and good fun around the backyard 'track'.

Looks great and good sized yard. I have mown a little basic track for my son to learn on but after having a mate over to help him get his superhornet running I now have visions of a bigger, much more technical track...maybe this summer, I could end up with about 10 of us over, and thats just close friends and family...is a 400sqm backyard big enough?

I have no frame of reference for sqm.  I'm in the U.S. so it's either feet or yards :)

Today and yesterday I listed some cars on ebay. An FF02, DF03 WHITE EDITION, A DF03RA, and an original hornet with box. Feel quite liberated selling instead of buying. I know this isn't the page for it. But thats what I've done today. Tomorrow a Honda city Turbo will join the exit party.

Last night I started the XV01 by sealing the carbon suspension but I didn't look closely enough at what glue I was using.  It still has a tacky feel after 24 hours, so now I've got to peel and lightly sand the glue off before re-doing it.  I had thought about doing a build thread.  Mucking up right out of the gate has me rethinking that idea.

      Hi Jon,
In the linked image, I've simply moved the bar forward until it is centered directly over the rear shock tower (approx. 10.72mm) and kept the same height.  Is this what you had in mind?

I've also reached out to you on Thingiverse via you R53JRC user name.

Are still manufacturing the gear box clamp for Monster Beetle?
Can they be fitted with a rear anti roll bar?
      Thank you for your help
      Kind regards
