The new to me Ultima arrived today so had to go through the manual and work out what setup it has currently from the 2 motor positions and 3 gearbox options. I don't want to change it as i bought off a guy at the club so its setup for the track I race at, but need to know how its set up as that affects battery setup which in turn affects esc and rx placement.

Fitted the steering servo as well, man its tight in there. Borrowed a nail file from wifey to take a bit off the servo horn to get max clearance but there is a bulkhead in the way. Have restricted the throw on the tx so it doesn't hit and it seems to have a reasonable amount of steering movement. I like the front tyres that it came with, the right ones for the track and they are old school ribbed type like the ones that came with the Fox.

Now I need to resolder everything as the esc and motor I'm using are from 2 other cars and no wires currently on them will work, so a case of removing all and starting over. Joy. Can be a job for another day, or maybe on saturday when a mate is over and then I'll have 4 hands...or better yet he'll do it since hes way better at soldering than me...

We are scheduled for 10 days of torrential rain. Gotta love Florida. Summer time get your Wellies on

Schedule come to be true???? I have had nearly 4 inches this week, the sun is bright and shiny right now and forecast is clear, sure hope the Austin TX forecast is nice and shiny too, the in-laws are down visiting old friends and staying at a place on Lake Travis, so we will see how much fun we can have and not look so pasty white ourselves.

So, took the mid into work last night to try and finish a few jobs. Didn't get a chance (had to work in work, meh) , but opened the boot today, to find my spirited driving has sent my tool/box hauler through the side of the plastic storage box I keep car stuff in (tow rope, bulbs, ecu reader , fire extinguisher etc) and not only activated the extinguisher, but damaged the mid too 😔

I'm hoping superglue will work until a replacement is found.

Built the gearbox for my Mercedes G320.

Im covered in grease and I dropped an open bag of hardware on the floor

screws everywhere.

Needless to say I am not doing anymore today.

So far today, I've taken the stripped down gearboxes for my Twin Detonator, given everything a good wash, degrease and dry.

Then I've put them both back together again. With bearings in place of the nylon and brass bushings. I was going to scrub the suspension arms as well but didn't as I'm debating getting alloy ones next month, to go with the alloy knuckles just fitted.

Next will be to put together the new GMade shocks and attach GPM shock towers (anyone know how they attach? No instructions with them)

Just bought one of my boys a Mad Bull from eBay. It's not the best I've seen (missed out on a nice one earlier) but got it for £50 including postage. Am sure it'll do for a 3 1/2 yr old.

Tried to get my other boy interested in a Lunchbox, but it was the wrong colour, his heart is set on yellow.

Anyone recommend a cheap, reliable, brushed ESC that can be programmed to limit speed?

Failing that a simple ESC that I could combine with a high turn (45 or 55) crawler motor?

You can use the EPA on the transmitter, with 2 of mine I can make the adjustment then hand the control to my son without him realising, then turn it back up if a mate wants a drive.

If it is the multi memory one you can change as many setting you like and record them as 'boy' (or your moniker of choice, character limited) and select it for whichever model he is using at the time.

I don't believe that the saved memories are linked to the rx so you can use them with whichever model you like.

You could also adjust the 'punch' for acceleration and have a look at some of the other options l, Iseem to recall something like traction control?!

I have the Tamco badges version.

I should really properly read the instructions as it looks like its got loads of settings. Might  see if I can make it quicker for me :)

@Jonathon Gillham I'd thought about using the EPA, but my Core RC Tx is too big for them to manage and I haven't found a small, cheap (it's bound to get broken) Tx that has EPA.

Hence me trying to do it from the other side as it were.

Haha I've had my Sanwa MT4S for months now and only yesterday looked into the model memory as I need different settings for the racecars, the bashers never need any adjustment. It certainly seems like you are just saving the settings on the tx and it doesn't actually matter what rx you are using.

Makes sense, I have another tx which doesn't have the EPA adjustment and it is the stick one that i bought specifically for my son. I'm a bit annoyed as its the Futaba T2HR which was the same price as the 3PRKA which has the feature, and certainly not a cheap radio compared to whats around. When I bought it I didn't know about all that stuff, was just annoyed my old crystal sets wouldn't work with the TBLE-02S esc that came with my first kits in 20 years and bought the cheapest set in the LHS to get a car running. But turns out it was actually quite pricey

They're GMade XD Diaphragm 93mm all round.

Seem ok, but I've only put them together so far.

Those look pretty good on there, better if there were anyone making narrow front wheels to match the rears, but then rubber would have to be made narrower as well, always a bit of a struggle to get more realism with these "toys"
