Those look pretty good on there, better if there were anyone making narrow front wheels to match the rears, but then rubber would have to be made narrower as well, always a bit of a struggle to get more realism with these "toys"

I have some of the same wheels with less offset, but same width. I could cut the wheel and tire down, but I am too lazy unfortunately 😁

Schedule come to be true???? I have had nearly 4 inches this week, the sun is bright and shiny right now and forecast is clear, sure hope the Austin TX forecast is nice and shiny too, the in-laws are down visiting old friends and staying at a place on Lake Travis, so we will see how much fun we can have and not look so pasty white ourselves.

Since I finally worked out how to save models in my Sanwa tx I have set up both racecars. Its strange how on the bashers with a Futaba S3003 you just get the servo horn in about the middle then it works. With the fancy savox servos I have to adjust the movement for each side to ensure that it gets full movement without binding. Strange that on one of the cars its set to 65% right turn but 100% left to achieve the same result. When the servo was moving too mich i swear the chassis was twisting...

I've ordered a couple of transmitters with receivers to put in my lads cars - one for the Mad Bull I won yesterday,  the other for my other boys yet-to-be-purchased Lunchbox.

I'd been considering a couple of Spektrum DX2E transmitters and 3rd party compatible receivers as the transmitters look to be pretty small and simple, although the lack end pint adjustment.

When researching them I found out about the Tactic TTX300. They seem just as small as the Spektrum and they have EPA for both steering and throttle, run off 4xAA's and are 3 channel so in future I could possibly rig up some lights or something in the boys cars. They also come with a receiver, and looking on ebay could be had for ÂŁ39.99. Had a 10% off voucher form ebay so have ordered 2 of them.

Bashed the Heavy Dump Truck and a Lunchbox in the garden at my 2 year old's request. Much fun was had racing them across, he's got the hang of steering and how the the throttle works, just not all at the same time :D

I've not liked my original GF01, I found it too bouncy and far too easy to roll, but the Heavy Dump seems better for some reason. I'll have to get the FJ off the shelf and compare. Perhaps it's driving it a bit slower that helps?

Also started on my Scania, which eventually arrived this week after being ordered in January. My Actros got stuck in a painting stage, so I'm hoping this new build will spur me to finish both

Not RC related....

Had to replace the top trim on my 46G breeder tank as the top brace snapped off(has been like that since I got it).... replaced it with a black one cause wood grain sucks and had to do it with about 40 juvies in the tank. Came out well.... hope the little sponge filter can filter enough for the next two days while the silicone cures.

I was hoping to get those two out for a run today, for some reason they are my go to runners. 😊

Your Scania took 6 months to arrive?! 😮

Today I painted my bronco body while the two littlies were having their nap. Still have to decal it.

I got my Ultima going today. I went to a mates yesterday to get the soldering done as he does a far better job than me so I don't have to be embarassed about my electrical install at the track. Its running the same gear as the 4wd which is trackstar 80a turbo esc and 17.5T motor, the esc are temperamental to set up. It runs but needs to be calibrated again as it can be a bit jumpy with no tx input. The car is quick, like the Lazer but man 2wd is soemthing else. Just tried it out in the backyard quickly and where the Lazer would just go around a corner the Ultima will swap ends. I wanted 2wd specifically for this reason, I expect it to take more skill and practice to go fast. Not too much of a run as I grabbed a storage charged battery and the shell needs cutting and painting, but you know, you have to test these things.

I have 3 weeks to test and get it right for the next race meet so should have all the bugs ironed out, I've learnt my lesson from last time - you can't get a car ready to race in 3 days

Nice Bronco there :)

Scania, yeah. In stock on website, but not really. Then seemed to be months for Hobbyco to get them back in. It is a shame these shops that judge their stock on whether the importer has then, but hey ho, I have my truck now :D

hope you have a good bash today, get some photos!

Had a bit of a score today!

Made a sortie into my folks loft and found my Blackfoot!!

It's in a bit of a state having been up there for who knows how long. The tyres have perished and it's missing all the electrics. I haven't yet found the proper body. It's got a lexan Bigfoot shell.

Also in the box is a few old shells for my Procat and... the remains of my old Avante 2001. You can just see it in the pic under the Blackfoot.

Took my dark impact for its first proper run. Have a sports tuned motor which seemed slow so waiting for a brushless. Decides to take it for a spin today anyway and having a fully charged battery it is much quicker. Handling is great but sounds like the rear diff is screeching a bit. Took the cover off and everything looks ok inside but doesn't sound quite right. Sports tuned too hot for dark impact df03 with no slipper clutch?! Any thoughts?

Thanks! Yeah I hear ya, has happened to me before over here, not with a full kit mind! Looking forward to seeing your Scania, always enjoy seeing others trucks. No bash, kids>me, and got to late/cold to go to the park 😯

Masked up my Unimog shell for painting. Hated every last miserable second of it, as I did the cutting out. Whoever first came up with polycarbonate shells had better hope we don't bump into each other.

I enjoy cutting the bodies out.

I find it very relaxing.

I'll have a large portion of your patience then. I have to do it in two or three hits.😖😖

If only you lived in NZ, i have 2 that you could use to relax!

I have 5 or 6 sitting here....

While i don't hate it per say, I much prefer hard bodies, and my sausage fingers find it hard to put tape in side the small roof lines etc. If I was good at it, like those guys that do the fancy schmancy paint jobs, I would like it more.

I was meant to do a 'ford' panel strip on the side of my bronco (al a blackfoot) but I gave up 😁

Finished the Ninja runner (pics in Mauri section) still a few niggles, more set up than anything else.

Really like the 1060 esc's, a silver can and lipo, great to get her running.

So far today, following my loft discovery from yesterday. I've "had" to order a few bits that I know I will need to resurrect my old Blackfoot.

J and K parts trees as well as a re-re Blackfoot/Monster Beetle B parts tree. All mostly for servo saver related bits, but they obviously give me some other parts too. Fortunately, it never really got much use before it was put away, so most parts should be ok. Have to find the rear shocks though.

Will need to order an ESC before I can run it too, probably get a TBLE-02S as that seems to work ok in my Boomerang and they are as cheap as chips. EIther that or I'll get something else for my Boomerang (seeing as it's running brushless) and transplant the TBLE from there into the Blackfoot.

Will have to get back up in the loft at some point and see if I can find the original body. And will need to sort some tyres at some point, to start with it can borrow some from one of my Wild Dagger/Twin Detonator.

I've just had a message to say a parcel has been delivered that contains the Mad Bull from ebay for one of my boys. That's going to need a good going over too. Still got a few bits to do on the Twin Detonator and Boomerang as well.

Where do I find the time and work space???

Not to mention the Avante 2001 - I have no idea what I'm going to do with that.

This post is great, that slippery slope that we are all on. Didn't you order the Boomerang a few weeks ago and now have 6 cars including the loft finds? And that is exactly what i did with esc, could've got cheap and cheerful but bought trackstar with matching 17.5T motors which suspiciously allowed me to equip the 2 racecars I wanted to buy, and have since ordered TBLE-02S to replace the trackstars that came out of the cars they were 'bought for'. Love it

Also i tell my wife there are people with more cars in less time than me

Yes, originally I was inspired by my lads and their toy rc cars to look for the Blackfoot.  I ordered the Boomerang after I couldn't find the Blackfoot and feared it had been thrown away.

Then I got tempted by a Wild Dagger on ebay. Then a Twin Detonator that looked in nice condition caught my eye.

During all of that my boys saw me looking at kits and both picked out their favourites - a Mad Bull and a Lunchbox. As they are only 3 I've been looking out for reasonable condition used ones - as they will get a beating. Found the Mad Bull last week. Also found a couple of radio sets that I think they'll be able to manage. Still looking for a Lunchbox, even used they still seem to command quite a price, almost up to the cost of a new kit. Will probably end up going for the new kit, if I don't see anything else in the meantime.

Then yesterday found the Blackfoot and Avante. Not sure I can count the Avante as a car though, it's the chassis with suspension arms hanging off it. Getting that running will probably be expensive.

And there is still my old Procat, which could probably be made driveable. It was fine when it got parked up. Probably just needs a good service and replace any rubber parts that have perished and maybe a new drive belt (if you can still get them).

So that's, Boomerang, Wild Dagger, Twin Detonator, Mad Bull, Blackfoot, Procat - yep 6, plus the Avante chassis.

Only the Boomerang and Twin Detonator are definitely usable now though. The Mad Bull is probably driveable but I haven't seen it in the flesh yet, it will need an ESC though. The Wild Dagger needs an ESC and a thorough clean. Blackfoot needs a few parts.

I'm thinking maybe a Hobby King XCar ESC for the Boomerang, then the TBLE-02S from that into the Blackfoot. Already have another TBLE on the way for the Mad Bull.

      Hi Jon,
In the linked image, I've simply moved the bar forward until it is centered directly over the rear shock tower (approx. 10.72mm) and kept the same height.  Is this what you had in mind?

      Hello
      Hope you are well
Are still manufacturing the gear box clamp for Monster Beetle?
Can they be fitted with a rear anti roll bar?
      Thank you for your help
      Kind regards
