Today I embraced that I might be slightly off-kilter and bought a second had Terra Conqueror to use as a vintage racer instead of building one of the nibs I've got.
The tires are a bit hard and will need replacing, and I've bought a new servo, reciever and motor, but the initial impression is that it's been lightly used and well taken care of.

Fitted the electronics into my Mercedes G320 and tested them.

All ok.

Looks to be in great condition for used, those tires might not be the easiest to find, but I think you will find modern rubber to be best suited to today's tracks. I cringe every time I go to pull the body off my shelfer as that front nose seems like it is ready to crack wide open.

I will try, I need to work out how to post pictures - I'm not nearly as old as that suggests!

Its this range, the 27 litre bin fits a buggy in the bottom with wheels, body and wing on, then the storage tray (called utility tray white) goes on top and that is big enough to hold tyres, spares etc, then a lid on that.

http://sistemaplastics.com/products/storage

That probably means I don't need to work out posting pictures!

I use the 7,9 litre to keep my tools in and the parts for the kit I am building at the time goes in the top tray

Hah! The nose on this one was perfect until I removed the body to have a peek at the esc & servo and proceeded to crack off two large paint chips. That's what I get for being too eager.
Yes, I think I'll be looking for some schumacher yellow minipins as those seem to be the preferred choice by those in the know at my local track.

That is a great idea, I built the Novafox over a few days and it was a pain packing up and setting up each time.

Couple of weeks ago I needed to get something from Shapeways for work so I knocked up a solid version of the central wishbone mount for the DT03 front suspension mod I did on my Rising Fighter a couple of weeks ago. It arrived today. Needed a bit of fettling around single mount point but other than that seems spot on. Fitted the proper front wgeels off my Grasshopper 3 and went to the gravel. What a ace little thing! Now it has proper front grip it's proper fun to hook about.

Also gave my newly detuned (from 10.5 to 17.5t) Thunder Dragon a run out and I am loving it. With the 8.4v pack it's plenty fast but no thermal issues. Nice evening.

They are ideal for the Tamiya builds, I have not used this one since I built my super hotshot back in February. As you can see the bag labels are still in, using it on my K1 build now👍

Couple of hours spent rebuilding the Blackfoot. Here's how it is looking at the moment.

There's nothing under the dust cover. I've yet to decide on or get a steering servo, nor do I have an ESC for it (since I forgot myself and taped one into my boys Mad Bull).

Servos in both my Boomerang and Twin Detonator are Core RC 9016MG metal geared high torque servos. They seem ok to me. I have a few old Acoms servos now and can't decide whether to use one of those or get another Core one, or something else.

For my TT-02R rally build I've repurposed the Spektrum DX2E that came with my sons Losi XXX-SCT (we long since upgraded him to a DX4C for racing).  One thing I really didn't care for on the DX2E was its plastic wheel so I sprung for an Integy V10 Spoke steering wheel set in red (#C26404GUNRED).  I think it looks GREAT and it feels 10X better than the stock plastic jobber.  Now this is a transmitter worthy of my Suzuki SX4.  :D

This is for yesterday but I went for a walk along some forestry paths and took my little hobby converted Radio Shack/Digitcon 4x4 jeep. Zero suspension but that didn't put it off! Great fun watching this little thing scrabble about and climb over rough terrain. Having proportional controls makes these things so much nicer to drive too.

I then drove the Taiyo Jet Hopper I got on Saturday and it's working fine. I really can't get on with the way it only steers under throttle though so I'll probably drop hobby electronics into it.

I also quickly drove my Twin Detonator for the first time to make sure the MSC to ESC conversion was all working ok. Nothing exciting just a few lengths up and down the street.

Not today but Sunday we had a bit of a meet in my local Asda carpark!

You know the Blackfoot was just wanting to jump that row of cars.

I could not find my vernier so I had to skip a few steps of the instructions and went onto the shocks.

Started adding an additional jump to my backyard "track".  This one is an old log partially buried, then dirt added on each side of it to form the jump.  You can clear the gap and land on the second jump which feels really buttery when you hit it right.  If you don't hit it right, you crash.  I keep trying the keep it look nice surrounding the track.  I've added ferns and rhodedendruns and other small shrubs to class it up a bit.  It's quite fun!

Well, I certainly didn't do so much as you lot, but I went to work and then got my hair cut and then came home to collapse in bed for a nap from the heat. Went to check on "mud's" parts in the rock tumbler as they have been going almost 2 days now. They are getting some nice satin finish to them. I began to clean up the ugliest bits he sent me, the shock stuff and a few other bits in brass.

NOW, ONTO THE COMMENTS. ;)

WHO WOULD have thought, forget the $15 shock building stand, just get the old butter tub and cut some circles into it. :D That is what I love about this page, outside the box thinking on many levels.

Painted he Ultima body. After spending a 'relaxing' hour and a half cutting it you'd think I'd have done a better job of the masking, but I sucked at that today. I figure this is an interim shell which will be destroyed soon enough and i'll need a new one. My son insisted on PS4 to match his Novafox. I wanted PS30 which would stand out a bit better.

How many bodies do you typically get out of a spraycan? This has done a Novafox and Ultima and isn't dead yet. Is that normal? I wonder whether I use too much or too little

Depending on the colour, I usually get about a body and a quarter. I find with certain colours I could use a full can on one body, the PS29 fluorescent pink I used the other day required a full can as it was still translucent on some of the curves of the body.

I also do not like cutting bodies out, I don't understand why they can't be like the Schumacher kits and come pre cut
