Made a deal with a friend of mine to buy his partly built schumacher procat :-)

been asking him for maybe 5-7 years if i could buy it and now he was ready to let it go.  Now I just need to wait for the postman to turn up.

Intended to finish my boys Lunchbox tonight. Got as far as attaching the chrome body parts, just getting ready to start the decals when my other boy started throwing up in his bed.

Packed everything away and will leave for another time as I'll likely be up with him all night.

Properly beautiful! Just as it is no decals! is that Tamiya copper? Got to see it fully finished on the chassis!

Liking a post like that doesn't seem appropriate, but know exactly how that feels, hope your boy gets better soon

Yeah I feel for ya too Pete, my 3 m/o boy just got his immunisation jab yesterday and my 2y/o girl just had strep throat (dad got it too unfortunately) with the vomiting/shivers/sweats. All the best for your little fella.

Fitted the Flysky rx to the Novafox as my son wanted the new Flysky instead of the 'old' Futaba 3PRKA. I'm impressed with the Flysky given it was $36 delivered vs about $130 for the Futaba. Probably should have got him the better one with multiple model memory as he wants a 3rd car for Christmas.

Man what a $%/;÷tch the Novafox is to work on! About 15 screws to get the cover off, and the rear end is flopping around then too. When I built it I knew about the complaints from BITD about how hard it was to change crystals etc, now I understand why. Good thing it has saved the electronics from all the puddles that car has been through, at least there is a point to it.

Thanks moffman. Couldn't have done it without your inspiration. Yeah I can't decide whether to put at least a few decals on. Was thinking of puting at least the dark impact white writing on the side. Yeah tamiya ps-14. Can't put the wing on yet as the last coat I put on messed it up. The can was running out and just spat thick blobs. Glad it was the wing and not the body that was a mess. Will post pics though once all together.

Trans Orange with Ano or bright silver? Copper usually has chunkier flakes.

Good guess but copper ps-14

Interesting, wonder if they've changed - haven't bought a fresh can of Copper in years.

Haven't gotten around to painting the "Toyota orange" that came out year or 3 ago either :(

Wow you weren't kidding about the shine on that, Tony! Well done mate, colour really pops in the sunlight! ☺

thanks very much as i said that 2k clear coat is really sumthing else i am truely amazed by the finish ......no orange peel or anything that i have had in the past with normal clear coat. plus the wife loves the colour also and that an added bonus. i dont wether to apply any decals yet . oh and regarding the mfu there is enought led's in the set to complete the lights inc spots i just had to forgo the speed indicator ones for the spots.

I finished off the Lunchbox for my lad tonight.

Will post pics tomorrow. I got the decals on, modded the front suspension to reduce the silly positive camber, and swapped the plastic body mounts for some black alloy ones.

I then discovered a flaw in the Lunchbox and Quicrun 1060 combo. With the body on, the battery lead from the 1060 is too short to be usable. I don't want to be taking the body off just to connect/disconnect the battery. If I move the ESC to where the lead might reach then the motor leads aren't long enough.

I've ended up ordering a couple of battery extender leads, not ideal but should do the job.

I found this too.

I positioned the 1060 where the rx normally goes, which was fine, but then the rx aerial is a bit short,so only got an inch tube. The 2s was ok as the lead was long enough on the battery, but the 3s lead is shorter, so had to kind of dangle the 1060 in the middle to run it.

I'm thinking of longer leads on the motor and up the gauge size a bit, then chop a hole in the tub side to get the plug out.

Finished the last alloy wheel for my hotshot:

I suppose I should really replace those 30 year old oval blocks with something a bit more flexible .......

Superb, as always, @MadInventor can see why you got excited and burnt a tip out doing the last one.

Are you running cad/cam set up?

Nope, just a 'back of a cornflake packet and a pencil' design system, and a 'wind the handles' warco lathe with a power feed on the saddle.

Photos of the finished Lunchbox Black Edition. It's for one of my 3 1/2 year old boys so is completely stock apart from:

Bearings throughout (from rcbearings)
Black anodised alloy body mounts - I didn't like the standard ones at all. That chromed plastic seems ever so weak.
Front suspension modded with some spacers to reduce the positive camber.

Placed an order at Tamico for the Vajra, since it's on sale. Need one NIB for my collection of the Avante family.. only missing the Vanquish NIB now.

Also bought a bunch of Top Force j-parts as they always are nice to have, did also get the red front and rear boxes to use on the Top Force and the rear gear box for the Egress to use for my Jamie Booth replica.

Fitted the various bits of trim to my Unimog shell.  I've got proper Tamiya screwdrivers but the screws that hold the sides on seem made of soft cheese, so I swapped those.  Still need to paint the grille and driver, fit the lights and roofbar, and fit the decals.  I'll stick a photo up when it's finished, but I might stand a fair distance away to take it...
