i got two nasty blisters from tearing down a really beat up blackfoot.

i cleaned all parts in a mix of oxy clean and hot water, then reinstalled them all on a brand new frog chassis.

then i fitted the complete crp chassis stiffener kit to it. now i just need to get some 80mm alloy shocks, paint the

parma baja beetle body and i'm done with my "monster beetle" project.

the blisters are from a screwdriver thats a bit small for me but fits tamiya screws perfectly.

so...what have you done today? :)

Sorted out Septembers buggy budget:

Two 2.2 Proline tyres for my AX10 Crawler

2 Mtroniks Viper ESC's for my parts bin Frog and MB

Ball race set for Fighter Bull (Fighter Buggy modded to Mad Bull)

Set of 8mm and 10mm 500mm nylon rods to sort my body mounting kit needs for several years to come! :)

Tempted to get one of the short chassis Proline Baja shells to go on the 'Bull.. at 290mm the wheelbase of the shell is just a gnats longer than the 'Bulls 284mm, but definitely workable I think!

Took delivery of a Mad Bull from Ebay for my mate at work to get back into RC.

Also had a bit of a swap around with wheels and tyres:

Axial Rock lizards now on the MB

MB Tyres now on the Fighter Bull (will be making a modified bumper / front brace out of sheet aluminium to cope with the larger tyres)

two 1.9s and rock creepers on the Frog Beetle, the other two on the Falcon Beetle

set of Ansmann Buggy white 5 spoke wheels and tyres on the Monster Cuda (now not so much of a monster, but still looks the mutts!)

Which leaves me with a set of silver HPI 5 Star 2.2's and Proline Dirt Hawgs for a future project! Definitely want to do another TL01-B (or a TA-02 chassis base if I can get one at a sensible price) conversion - and I'm thinking a stadium truck look will be the way to go - and these will be the wheels and tyres for the job.

Should probably get around to taking some updated pics really :)

My blackfoot/brat (blackbrat? bratfoot?) turned up today, very nice condition, already got it going too!

two questions though:

Are the blackfoot/bruiser tyres no longer available and/or hard to find?

Has anyone fitted a #50204 servo saver before to the ORV chassis?

My Bullhead window/parts from the states turned up today. Also my box of bits I posted earlier.

So far interesting things I've found in box of bits are:

Brand new Thorp Diff for a Fox

Kyosho Ultima/optima 2wd chassis with strange metal plates and 2.5 packets of torque limiting clutches

heeeaaapss of random tyres (shumacer cat/grasshopper/srb/teamlosi/Associated)

twin detonator chassis (here we come junkdog racer!)

lot's of CVA shocks

grasshopper and manta ray parts tree's

and heaps of random bits n pieces I cant identify

:(

Replaced my dead Acoms AP202 with a HPI TF-1 from LHS. Re calibrated most of the cars, but still one or two to do. Also found out what the D/R nob does! Couldn't understand why the steering hardly moved. Turn that nob all the way to the right and *wohoo*.. steering lock!

Stripped and rebuilt MB gearbox twice. There is STILL a "popping" sound, and yet two things confuse me. 1)all the gearbox bits are brand spankers. 2) without the motor in it's smoother than a babys wossname. Ended up swapping over the gearbox from one of my frogs. AND IT STILL DOES IT. *ARRGH*. I think I have another pinion gear for the motor, and a different motor. That's the only other thing it can be! I may also try putting the spare dirt hawg tyres on there to gear it down a bit just to see if that makes any difference at all.

My mate came round to pick up his Mad Bull and I could see the gleam in his eye. Hehe Gentleman, I think we have another vict... er... fellow hobbyist :(

Been rebuilding shocks tonight.

Stripped & cleaned the rear shocks on my Munchkin, then rebuilt them with 2 hole pistons & 400 oil. They're much softer now & may actually do some work on the back end.

Also built a new set of black dampers for my red Top Force (thanks Evoman), it should look much cleaner with black rather than yellow shocks.
