Mounted, glued and balanced my new wheels and tyres.

That is a job I'm rubbish at. Was BITD too, I vividly remember a marshall putting the tyre back on my touring car and then after the race coming over with tyre glue...who knew you needed to glue tyres! I noticed one of my new ones coming off the other day too.

BUT I want to ask about the balancing. I take it you need a wheel balancer? Are they expensive? Worth it? Or fun to tinker with?

I use a propeller balancer, I picked it up for about £10 off the auction site. You can also use the front wheel of a 2WD buggy. Last time I did a set of wheels I used the front axle of my KR. Makes a big difference I have found, car runs much smoother.

Rain outside and a lack of F1 quali on 'proper' TV meant some Tamiya time for me and the boy.

Installed a steering servo in my M04. Lowered the stealth mounts at the front.  The rear are a far as they will go but I think it is just too high.

Just a motor, ESC and rx and I'll have another runner...

Finally got my son's Suby body decals on for his TT-02 rally car.  My TT-02 rally makes for a nice backdrop, no?

Well after my really annoying auction performance last week where I missed out on some really rare bits due to mobile woes, I have managed to win a Jugg 1 and TXT-1 at a fair price. Slightly more £ on the TXT than I would have liked and slightly better on the Jugg so all in all good times.

So you won't the TXT? I was the first bidder on it and intended to get involved today but then ended up getting the Clod the other day.

Trimmed off and sand papered the wheel arches. Cut off the stupid arch extensions as they caught on the rear tyres under punishment. Looks lot better now and no more scrapes

Have you got yourself addicted to Clods already :D ? It's a good way to go.

Was a really good price on that though in the end. I bid early on. Both bodies restored even with the plain grills are worth circa £50-£70 each. With the Clod in there as well you can't go wrong.

I won an eBay auction for a kyosho hi rider corvette chassis that I'd totally forgotten that I'd even bid on. From the pics I'm not expecting it to be in great condition but it'll be a fun project for sure.

I just need to figure out how I'm going to sneak it past Mrs SCN who has pretty much decreed "no more rc cars" I suspect that it's going to be living in my locker in work for a wee while until I can get space in the mancave.

Ah no, I thought you meant you were going to bid on the Clod I got the other day.

Carry on, nothing to see here :)

I built my VW Type2 today. I'm glad I took apart the tranny, since the *******ers didn't put the bearings or grease in it. So I got all that sorted, and test drove it around the shop. Next its paint time!  WOOT!  :)

Planned my backyard track. I was going to be moving to a lifestyle block so would have had a giant track but the housing market scuppered those plans, so am stuck on an 800sqm section in Auckland. Which isn't a bad place to be since the development potential is huge and its part of the retirement fund. So I have a space about 17m x 12m to work with, with some trees and a trampoline to deal with in the corners. I have a plan for a track about 65m long and 1.5m wide with a couple of jumps and a table top, and can cut out the infield for the kids if its too hard for them.

Now to build the ramps etc and hope i can find some cheap/free stuff to divide it up. A mate is keen to help with that, he is picturing a sunny afternnon with craft beers and powertools.

I want to be able to set it up or pack it down in less than 30mins which should be achievable.

I have a few mates with Tamiyas and a couple of TT02Bs which can be loaners, as other mates are keen but not to spend the money.

Also checked out timing systems, they aren't actually that stupidly expensive. They are as far as my wife is concerned, but US $300 isn't bad I thought for a timing system which can handle more cars than the track can. That will go on the wishlist for when I can somehow have my own money again...maybe the business needs an rc timing system...

Our most successful bash yet.

Lunchbox Mad Bull and Clodbuster all ran well. Bit of scratched paint on the newly painted Mad Bull shell and a lost body pin from the Mad Bull.

No damage otherwise.

Pleased to find that my 4500mah batteries fit in the Clod with no problems. And really pleased with run time.

The old Ford XLT150 SRB that I bought from a TC member (for the life of me can't remember his name/handle at the mo!) about 4 years ago finally got taken out of the box and fixed up today.

It arrived in reasonable condition already. The plan was to built an authentic runner with a restored shell, but the original shell that came with it has really grown on me so I'm keeping it as is.

New bits/upgrades include:

- Tamiya ball diff
- Stainless steel screws
- Alloy wheels (Pargu) and new rubber
- New radio box from re-re
- Coil over shocks (RC channel) all round
- NIB vintage Acoms AP35 speedo
- New re-re front bumper
- Not new but fairly mint vintage Tamiya black motor
- 2S LIPO "hidden" inside a classic vintage hump back case

Couple of things to finish up like a missing real tailgate + sunroof (I have a replacements, currently in primer), tire lettering and it needs a new set of ball cups and a receiver. Other than that pretty much ready to run now.

Looking at the spec, other than the stainless screws this actually was my dream SRB as a youngster back in about 1983, but couldn't afford it. So I guess today I built my nostalgic dream buggy :)

I put the stickers on my Unimog 406 today.

The first 14 are very annoying. I guess they're supposed to give a clean border to the two painted areas. But if you've followed the paint instructions and made a decent job of it, then they add nothing at all. And if you made a poor job of it and have paint bleed, they won't help.

Now it's done, I think I maybe preferred it before they were on.

While doing the weekly food shop I saw this little beauty sitting on the shelf and seeing I just happened to be watching man fire food last night  in witch on of these was used I thought that coming home with me seeing I've been after one for a few years. The price was £29.99 cheap in my eyes but when I zapped it anther self serve till it said £14.50 plus we got another 10% of that a brilliant price in my eyes. Can't wait to use it.

Been past them in asda a few times now, still at £14.50 and with the summer so far, loads left. Have you had a chance to use it? Worth getting one for next year, just in case ?

That looks a bit like that scene in Cars 3 where Mcqueen goes "undercover"

SUPER SEXY this one is, I was fiddling around with mine a few weeks ago and found that I have a mismatched set of wheels, one with the larger offset and then the NEW re re ones from a brat. I wanted to use the old wheels with some good old used rubber on it, but now I need to source that old used rubber, but I did put my new tires on my new re re wheels, still not done with it yet, body work might have to be done to it. I like the new shiny bits you have chosen to put on yours. The new ball cups you need, are they the white bits in the front uprights??? I might have a set here, but I am in the USA, so we better make it worth the postage depending on where in the world you are.
