The RB5 understeers like mad, and with only a stock servo, took what felt like a day to turn into a corner.

There's nothing like a slow servo to make a spin around a track frustrating!

As Her is a designer I asked about suggestions for the xls to avoid the german flag on wheels. Precisely, about as smart as putting a rabid wolf in a sheep's pen.
I now have an infinite amount of colour schemes that admittedly looks good but are miles and miles beyond me and a couple of rattle cans. So I know now that for the first time in the history of mankind she'll take an interest in anything rc-related and promptly axe my effort as I didn't follow her advice. Yay me!

😂

I know that feeling as well, and the don't ask me again if you choose not to follow my suggestion look 👀

IMG_2033.jpgDid some balancing of the non-lipo kind. This is my 419 with 2 fans and 20g of lead in the front bumper.

The club I might do some racing at this coming indoor season has a minimum weight limit of 1350 grams. I'd say I've just about met that requirement! :D

THAT is a well-balanced machine!  Let's hope their scale isn't calibrated slightly off and put you under weight during tech inspection.  ;)

Great footage @Wooders28, nice looking temp track.

Cheers, it was one of the quicker guys that done the vid.

The temp track has been donated to us, so we've now a beginner track 😁

A bit of on board footage from the weekend!

WOW, that is some smooth driving, but I should NOT have watched that with my current state of vertigo...... Now, could you PLEASE add some music to this, perhaps some Yakity Sax??? :P

Got this from a guy at work. Cost me a crunchie bar. Shame he doesn't know where the monster beetle that went with it has gone to. 😊

He's a good driver, and one of the reasons he's leading our championship!

For some comedy value! 😂

(I hate music on rc, or any car vids, I like to hear the throttle control 🙄)

Well, as per a few posts back I thought I had actually better add some books to this bookshelf, 2 to be precise.... I felt it was a little bit unbalanced after though so added some more vintage display kits.

I love to hear the whine of the gears and throttle control too, but I do think that some subtle Sax would be a good thing on that vid, not enough to drown out the throttle though, now if I can just shut the commentators up on my F1 feed, THAT would be AWESOME

My Sonic Fighter is coming along..... now where is that new driver figure from the States going to arrive!

He's seen the car and is probably putting it off for as long as possible:D

THAT is looking nice, for a Sonic Fighter, hides the hidiouseness a bit in matte black. :D

I caved and had to tryout the VW before installing the decals. The little guy is pretty fun to drive. Everyone who seen it had to come up and share their VW stories with me. My "plum crazy purple" turned out more of a dark blue. But the little bus sure looks good either way!

I'll see through the veiled and not so veiled insults and take it on the chin ;)

I think this SF looks particularly striking! :)

My insults are not veiled, they are just vile. ;) I actually dig the car, in all its funkyness.

To be honest with you, I'm thinking about doing another one. It would be a Grateful Dead hippy tie dye bus. Also although it would be expensive, I'd need to find either a Jerry Garcia or Cheech & Chong plush figures to be the drivers for it.

IT WOULD BE GROOVY!!!   -lol

I do have a painting tip to share on this body. The included window masks are printed bigger than the actual windows. So you have to cut them to fit, which is tough to get your hands in there to place them accurately. Then I hand painted the silver stripe on mine. But if I had to do it again, I'd had used blue painters tape and sprayed them. I'm also going to play around with hand painting the window frames on mine. But I have to do more testing on this Tamiya paint to know how to do that.

Beyond the above, I won an ebay auction for some new old stock parts. They are mostly Traxxas stuff for my relative. But a couple Tamiya bits for me were mixed in.

Stripped my damaged brushless servo to inspect the damage to the metal gears, to find brass gears and a plastic one!?! I know it's a metal, but for some reason I thought they'd be a stronger metal?

Yeah you gotta wonder sometimes, and that is Futaba so you would expect better. When I broke my S3003 (I know I know) and took that apart one gear was missing about 4 teeth, obviously as it landed the shock just snapped them all off.

I'd class it as one of the higher end servos, some of the Savox servos are titanium gears (well advertised, maybe just one and the rest are brass and plastic!?!?).

I stripped gears in a stock servo and couldn't work out why, turned out the epa was set wrong!

Today, or rather yesterday since it has gone midnight, I painted a driver figure for my mate's F1. He may be a better driver than me, but I can still out-paint him! :)
