It was the last that the place I got it from had.

Possibly the last....in the world!

That's too bad, for me!  Good for you, but bad for me...

Thanks!

I've been working on my Terra scorcher, Removed the paint from the windows and upgraded the wheels :) I also fitted the A5 metal upgrade brace to the brittle front end ;) Just need decals now :)

So last week I listed a few cars on the devil bay... auto correct is accurate.

Among them an original WW.  It was in original body colors I got it and even though I loved it that way I figured I would make it more traditional. Some drab olive some new after market decals.... 2 day strip and repaint. Not my best work but not bad either. Any way its back up on evil bay today

A little of topic but I was hanging out last week with a buddy in his new collectibles store... Good friend to have.. I noticed about 15 or 16 twenty gallon containers. I asked about the content. He had just bought one of the largest collections of hot wheels,/ matchbox cars in the US. Literally thousands and thousands of new in packaging hot wheels cars. I only mention this as I know there are a few guys on here that collect them. The store is called the Winer's circle. In Wellington Florida.

Also on the shelf was 1972-2011 playboy collection. Lol.

Gave my rebuilt Blackfoot a bit of a run.

First proper run in 20+ years and it was great.

The 17.5T Trackstar brushless motor has all the speed that car needs and enough torque to pull wheelies on take off.

It actually handled better than I remembered, especially for just having friction shocks.

The rear really does squat down under acceleration more than I remember. I'll have to check the shocks and make sure I've not mixed up the springs front and rear. Or maybe the springs have softened with age. Or it could be the brushless setup.

Anyway, it was really nice to see it running again.

Forgot to add that I also have my Clodbuster, with newly fitted TXT-2 oil dampers a run.

The dampers do seem to have helped the handling a bit whilst still maintaining some of the monster truck bounce.

I really need to do something about the steering though. It's all over the place. The rear wheels especially don't return to centre very well.

Just a bit of tinkering today, swapped over the new spur and pinion in the Lazer which should hopefully mean I can make the double. No chance to test it as it has been raining all weekend.

Was looking at touring cars and man they are expensive, anyone know why they are approx 50% more than a 4wd buggy? I expected a buggy would cost more because they need to handle jumps, but man was I wrong!

So I now need a much more elaborate plan (to convince my wife) to get hold of a decent touring car, but do want to run a TA07 in stock touring just to see if I can be competitive by spending less than the cost if a top chassis on the whole car.

Had the same issues with the bullhead, the servo horn swap has helped, but still a bit vague.

I can't get my head around that either, maybe best not turning to the dark side...🙊😂

@Wooders28 do you have the Schumacher Cougar KF2 SE? Looks great and Amain have it on sale. Not that I need a new buggy yet, but thinking I won't be sticking to Kyosho for the next ones, the kits are so expensive and don't appear to be better. I could have 2 Cougars and change compared to 1 touring car!

Looking at touring cars as its indoors here, a few meets have been cancelled this year because of rain. I could run indoor offroad but that doesn't look like much fun compared to outdoor, and I would need new cars for that anyway since the setup is completely different between the 2.

Yeah, I've got the KF2se, getting to grips with it now and it's a great buggy. Still to start to move the motor position about, need to get different lipo for that. I paid £140 for mine with the low grip conversion nip included. Prices are coming down all the time, saw one with a carbon chassis, loads of spares, ball diff/ gear diffs etc for £130 the other day 😔.

All our clubs are indoor because of that reason, couple of outdoor ones too though.

Yeah mine has the servo horn mod already. It turns well enough, just doesn't seem to centre very well, especially the rear.

Perhaps I need to tighten up the rear servo saver a bit.

Put this stuff into my Neo Scorcher.

I also added a Kimbrough servo saver and some 5mm ball connectors with a threaded rod to connect the servo to the steering linkage.

I replaced the Futaba servo I had been using with another I had after I opened it up and found this bent shaft in it???

I got my Quicrun 860 working in my txt-1, doesn't like the Tamiya G301-FM radio. So got it working off my dx3c. Was planning on installing the 17 tooth pinions as well but they havent shown from Tower and it's been a month 😒

Took my Radio Shack Extreme Machine (AKA Nikko) for a test drive. I accidentally broke one of the front drive shafts a while back (my fault not the trucks) and seeing as I have another one now I decided to convert this one to RWD, changed the body shell over to lexan and cut out some dead weight plastic that wasn't needed. It's definitely much lighter now but I need to get some cheap oil dampers because the stock pogos are way too bouncy with the reduced weight! It doesn't help when you keep on the power after a bumpy landing mind you!

Interesting truck to drive, double wishbones at the front so in that sense more sophisticated at the front than say, a Lunchbox but then the good old solid axle at the back to keep things interesting!

It could do with a little more power but not too much, maybe a torque tuned or a modest KV brushless. I like that fact that it's composed enough to not tip over constantly but is crude enough to bounce and bound around.

I like this truck a lot, it was essentially designed to be a RTR equivalent to hobby grades at the time just like the F10/Golden Arrow was equal to the Grasshopper/Hornet and it shows. Like the F10 buggy family, the truck was presumably designed in such a way that it could be pitched to hobby grade manufacturers because it's a piece of cake to do a conversion on. If you've ever converted an F10 you will know that a hobby servo slips in very easily and lo and behold the Traxxas Cat and Spirit are a Nikko F10 with a few tiny alterations to the moulding.

This is a totally unedited video apart from pasting two clips together:

Today was the solar eclipse day in the US. I got some great pictures of totality that I will share once I get them all downloaded. Beyond that we took a couple trucks out to the track. But unfortunately it rained last night, so it was too muddy to drive on. So I didn't shoot any video of the RC's since it was just a few packs buzzing around the yard. I brought out my Clod Buster, vintage Traxxas Rustler, MRP Ripper, and vintage Traxxas Sledge Hammer. It was a fun day!

Been working on building a 3Racing Sakura D4 AWD drift car chassis, but I've been building it with the intention of turning it into a RWD touring car with front mechanical brakes.  The motor has been relocated behind the rear axle and the battery has been relocated to where the motor normally goes to get decent weight over the rear axle.  The front differential is now in the rear.  The front suspension has longer upper turnbuckles and the king pin inclination angle has been reduced.  Everything has been accomplished with the stock kit parts thanks to the symmetrical design of many of the plastic parts and the symmetry of the hole patterns drilled into the chassis plate.  No new holes were drilled.  I just had to source a longer D3 rear belt (61T instead of 59T) and steal two turnbuckles from my parts box to get it to this point.  It looks like several bodies will fit, too, as there is adequate space for the rear motor mount.
