Finished my re re optima. No real issues except one rear shock is binding when compressed. It seems like the spring is bent and rubbing. i cant figure it out. I used a hitec 625 high speed mg servo, hobbywing 1060 esc, robinson steel 25t pinion and hpi 15t firebolt. I'll probably go brushless soon. The body is also a pain in the *** to put on. I still am waiting on the universals which will most likely be the only hop up ill do.

I bought this one as a part-kit. Most of the missing bits were easy enough to get from the usual suppliers. The cockpit though, seems to be rather rare. A big thank you to @Tamiyabigstuff for supplying that

very hard-to-find part.

Amazing job here Fuijo!  The very rare driver cockpit looks awesome with great detail along with the PS-4 & PS-30 BB colors.  The masking alone on the R91CP is a job with-in a job for the those who have tackled the Nissan body.  Great collection.

Yes, the masking is certainly a bit tedious. I've painted 4 of these shells now, and I've already smashed one up at the track. It's not quite bin-time for that one, but it is getting close. The other is a general runner shell for the dark blue

car, but so far unused. If I see one more unpainted Nissan R91CP shell, I'm going to run away screaming!

Here's my Tamiya Group C car Mazda 787B #58357 built with rare Tamiya factory hop ups.. sports a custom fabricated driver cockpit, Tamiya factory receiver with Tamiya GT correct motor, Futaba servo, Tamiya ESC, limited edition green diff., carbon fiber Tamiya rear shaft, Lunsford titanium turn buckles, aluminum rear anodized shock with matching spring, Tamiya titanium and aluminum screws, aluminum nuts, Tamiya motor mount aluminum heat sync, custom painted correct wheels, factory finish body paint #42. It also sports a lowered mount Formula 1 rear wing stay aluminum bracket from Japan.

That looks fantastic. You've done a great job on painting the wheels. Very neat. I've been wracking my brains trying to think of a way to mask the gold/silver border effectively. There must be

a way because you've done it.

The driver figure really finishes it off nicely too! Beautiful!

Fantastic, makes me want to get my Jag XJR12 and Daytona Thunder out of storage and take some descent photos'.

Mine are both fully hopped up but Tamiya only😉

This evening I changed the wheels on one of my shelf queens. I picked these (and a set in silver) up from another R/C forum and I think they really suit the car :)

Worked on a small table top jump for my track today.  Going to try my Neo Scorcher out on it tonight and see how it goes.  I'll probably keep making it bigger though.

I've been driving my brushless QD Beetle, I'm going to keep it away from the tarmac I think, going to wreck the shell in no time otherwise.

Amazing fun and effortless power. I set it up with a little lipo first but then I tried 6 AA nimh in the stock compartment, I thought it might tame the power slightly but no chance, the motor is too small and efficent to notice much if any difference between the two power sources. At least using the stock compartment is neater and gives some weight low down. Kind of cool to run it on the same power source as it was designed to run on.

Nothing to stop me running it on 8 cells theoretically but it's already crazy on 6!

I wonder how easy it would be to get some little oil dampers to fit? Looks like the QD specific kits are pretty rare now. It goes quite well over in a straight line over bumpy terrain but it's quite prone to tipping when cornering like the larger solid axle monster trucks.

Still waiting on some parts, so I thought I'd mount the body at least on the Konghead

Lighting isn't great, but the metallic red has come out nicely, just a hint of the gold backing.

Sadly I didn't have the coverage I thought, as black backing has somehow come through. I'm a bit confused to be honest, how that made it through the red and the gold, but hey ho. It might match up with the stickers, and this is going to get bashed anyhew :)

I am impressed with the Semi-Gloss Silver Anodized Aluminum (PS-48, that really works well. It's given me the confidence to try some flip paint too, as I understand a bit better the coverage needed.

Built a small section of rock crawler wood obsticle track, did some bodywork to the Pajero cab now on the orv and had some run time with the feiyue f03 which I fitted a sandscorcher body to.

I upgraded the speed controller on my Pumpkin, and on my HIGHroller. I'm staying brushed on them. But now I can swap to faster motors when the stockers die.

I had been running brushless on the HIGHroller. But the 8.5 was eating too many transmission gears. So back to brushed for longevity!

I realised that who ever built my street devil was a complete muppet.... rear diff assembled wrong so a strip-a-roo and reassembly will be required. Isnt that what instructiins are for. To be followed. Totally fuming

Flip paint is really easy just get an even coverage and let it dry completely not just touch dry and then let the black backing do it's thing until your satisfied with how dark you want the colour's:)
