After a poor nights racing last night I decided to sort through all my 4.8 cell packs and discharge, cycle and that kind of thing. I got some particularly good numbers from some old sanyo 2400 nicads so I thought it would only be right to give them a bash - and spent the rest of the day thrashing my brushless Brat hearse about on 4 cells! - with only a small stoppage to change cells and bash the front stub axle back in :-)

Nearly time for a new shell me thinks

I stripped the Blitzer Beetle project chassis and stuck 'em in the dishwasher... came out lovely... As I didn't get a real close look at it before dropping the cash to the seller, it was kinda refreshing to see that plastic bushes were still present and everything was still nice 'n tight... could turn out to be a bit of a bargain this one..!

I've never heard of the dishwasher trick, I think my missus would kill me if she found parts in there

Had some bit's turn up for my Bullhead today from Jason, new chassis, wheels etc (and ANOTHER set of B parts),

so promptly dismantled it and installed the new parts! Gutted to find I'm out of gold screws, drats!

Put silver ones in easy to remove places until originals arrive.

i gave into my tamiya addiction today, i ordered an m03.

i have never owned an on road car and the price seemed right, $94.00 usd NIB.

i was so close to buying a fire dragon but the m03 was $30 less including shipping. (the m03 is in the usa so shipping is 9 bux)

i'm pretty excited to have a go at onroad bashing. now i need an mk1 rabbit/golf body.

Got 2 SRB re-release rear cages for 5.75 quid each!!

Busy stripping 2 old white Sand Scorcher shells with Fashine and attempting to use P38 filler on the road rash that I find on the roof guttering (darn those 8 year old kids and their love of driving expensive new models on Tarmac !!). Also getting the oxidation off a MK1 SRB gearbox with White Spirit only, it's hard work LOL. Just got to have a Scorcher runner! Then comes the nightmare of obtaining the TS paints, never mind actually using them!!

Cheers,

Alistair G.

i haven't done much today other than greet the fed-ex man and sign for my nib mini cooper.

the ball races for it arrived yesterday.

i can't wait to build it, these m03's seem like tons of fun.

i cut my finger really bad with an x-acto knife while i was removing flashing from my new m03.

i would have finished the build last nite, but the cut was pretty bad. i probably should have gotten some stitches.

today i ordered a 9t ezrun combo from jns and 2 turnigy 30c 3000mah lipos. if the combo is too ballistic for the mini i'll put it in my df01.

so....what have you done today?

^Ouch!^

Last night I stayed up till 3:30am stripping my clod and bullhead to replace the old and silver screws and bolts with brand new shiny original gold ones thanks to Tony's Tamiya ;)

Tedious task but well worth the effort in the end, There's nothing like new gold hardware gleaming under a black chassis B)

Ran 5 battery packs through my HPI cup racer, with a 17t motor, and still nothing has broken! Prob run a total of 30 packs through it, and 2 sets of tires.

Then, stared at my RC storage cabinet, and debated what to do with the other cars I have.

Then, drank some beer.

Cheers,

Skottoman,

So... what did you do today?

In the box of ORV bits n pieces I bought from a TC member a while back, I found a gearbox with a locked diff. Using the spare chassis from the King Blackfoot donor which I bought to swap out the MBs gearbox, a spare set of Falcon front wheels and a purchased pair of 2.2" wheels and HPI Sand Thrower tyres, I'm going to build myself a rooster tailing monster! :o

:) I sorted that terrible sticky tight fitting 2417 bearing in the CR01 gearbox. Posted 2 NIB's in my showroom, I know........SHOCKING!!!!! NIB's in my showroom. Thought I'd never see the day! :P

Painted the CR01 wheels in white, to look more like the white steel wheels we see on off road rigs here in SA. Don't know about the colour of the rings though..........

So what have you done today?????

Cheers

Henk :)

Tidying up the flat, and discovered I'd bought an Avante 2001 and a KingCab I had completely forgotten about!

I need a differential for the KC - is a gear one available to replace the ball?

And some sort of axle assembly for the Avante....awesome!

Posted

Henk with NIB's and a chap that has an avante and KC and didn't know?

Is this Tamiyaclub?

Herebemonsters, you may have to buy a Super Astute T.T.C gear train or an A&L setup.

The thrust bearing set for the King Cab is hard to find and even then they just wear out again.

I'm currently in the same position as you.

They say every cloud has a silver lining  seriously though, thats an amazing thing to do and I wish you both a quick recovery.

Agreed, no better way of showing a family member you love them by doing something like that!

Not to burst your bubble, but the morphine drip is probably diguising the fact that the nurse in uniform

is probably 10 tonne with cankles, facial hair and more rolls than a bakery...

Safer to just think of Tamiya's... NIB (Naked, in box) that you could run your grubby mitt's over, dress and undress it (apply paint and decals, sand off and start again), it could roll-play for you (today I'm a 4wd buggy then take centre shaft/belt off, I'm a 2wd buggy) etc etc etc ;)

*Actually that might not work either, you could be thinking of a King cab on the morphine, and when it wears off you might end up with a Clod Buster

Ok nevermind then.

:P

Purchased HPI Cup Racer in Porsche RSR form! Woot! Tower Hobbies filled my backorder, they're in stock as of today! :D

While not a Tamiya doing.... it was an RC doing so thought it belonged in the "What have you done today" thread.

Cheers,

Skottoman
