Painted a couple of shells, Datsun 510 for a M03M and my cossie shell...... undecided what chassis to run it on yet!

I like the subtle yellow, mellow yellow for an old skool shell

In daylight it looks a different shade to at night under electric lights

Tonights job is to try laying my Tiger Stripes on the Cossie shell.

Apologies if mentioned earlier in the thread but what yellow paint is that?

Thinking it might suit my newly ordered Aqroshot.

Datsun is bright. :)

That body shell looks great.

(is there an auto correct feature here? I tried to space Datsun out as two words in my poor pun, and it corrected the first three letters to THAT.)

I ordered the TA07, from Hobbyking.  I got in touch with a local guy who I've bought some kits off and he asked the NZ distributor - no TA07's available and none coming in this side of Christmas so he thinks they may be unavailable from Japan at the moment.  I hope it doesn't mean it will become something of an orphan chassis.  Every review I've read says its a great chassis with a lot of potential and its only been around a year...

That TA07-PRO looks a complicated chassis... very futuristic compared to the norm, I can get one from Germany in 2 days for £215.... but I'm not gonna ;)

It does look cool eh, I have been wanting one for ages, TRF suspension, single belt and can adjust the flex, whats not to like? I want to see how it will go against chassis three times the price.

Showoff, although mine has cost USD $222 which is probably less than the German one.  Then again, the German one will probably turn up, and mine probably won't

So last night I got one half of my Escort Cossie decals applied.... and royally ballsed it up!

Started from the front and was going great till the rear quarter section and I realised I'd not stopped to think about my spacing properly lol and effectively ran out of Bodyshell :(

Doesnt help that there is no numbering system to follow and all the MCI decals need cutting out too, makes the job more lengthy having to keep sizing up the current decal, I just forgot to also stop and look ahead at what was coming.

So my dilemma is... try and recreate the same incorrect bit odd looking mis mash on the other side.. or try it properly spaced out now that I know the pitfalls ahead and have two different striped sides? ( which will no doubt make me buy more decals to correct the ballsed up side at a later date)

Hair dryer, the decals will lift and reapply ok. If a bit of stickyness is lost clear good quality all purpose craft glue is great and stays wet for 5-10 mins so excess can be wiped away. I like Mod Podge glues.

Started my build thread and it needs to be approved by a moderator. Why is this? Is it too long (I did a long single post rather than split it) or too many pictures (they are hosted on flickr so thought that would be fine?). I even self-censored and wrote 'badword' instead of the actual word

Oh right, kind of checking to see if its in the right place or worthy of a build thread?

Thanks I will bear that mind.... I don't know if you have ever used MCI decals,,,,, they are pretty good if you lay them correct first time but they are very very sticky, so if you try lifting normally they can elongate and lose shape as they are stuck down so well.... they are also super thin... so they contour to every nook and shut line but are also quite transparent if you have a light colour sticker over a dark shell.

Sounds like it's worthy of an Oscar nomination for best screen play writing by the sound of it ;p

All build threads go through mod approval from what I have seen.

Aye, that is normal. I understand that it is done this way to ensure that only genuine build threads appear in the "builds" section.

Great offer thanks, my effort so far... but it needs re-doing with heavier stripes on the rear quarter panel

I had to totally fudge the rear stickers and then they couldn't fit properly..... new decals ordered.

Almost finished my CLK GTR just waiting for the paint for the mirrors and Merc Tri star. Not an easy body to decal, massive decals and loads of curves😮

I sat around and waited for tue courier that never came. Well actually my office is at the front of the house so i could easily see that they didn't come. I did get a notification that my TA07 kit has shipped, so thats most things. I need to order diff oils now.

Swapped the 1.8mm plate for the 1.5mm plate in the TRF102 as per @TurnipJF's suggestion, it was much easier than expected. It has definitely made a difference to the rear end, much more flexible now.

Ordered an airbrush setup and some paint to go with it.

Now if I could just find somewhere that sells artistic ability...
