Dude, it was only a year or so ago you pick up your first car! What happened? And I know you have a lot more than are on show here. Shelfs look awesome btw.

Hehe, it's been a little longer than that but yea I've certainly amassed quite a large collection.

Do you think you could get a vid of it?

Maybe someone on here has had similar trouble (or tell you it's normal?)

So the chatter has gone now that its in blinky mode, although I did also play with the belt tensioners and found that one which doesn't look like it should really do anything was at the loosest setting, so that could have helped too.  Which is probably a short term fix and it'll be back when the 5.5T goes into it.  It seems almost as quick as before though which is good, the stock touring cars always seem pretty quick when I watch them but I'm sure they're not that quick.

Hope that's that issue sorted!

Only one way to find out 🤔😀

Once you get on a track, with a few others to dodge, everything seems faster.

Sounds like you're going to hae some fun!! 🖒

(I set the KF2 to blinky, from full boost/turbo and torque timing, on Wed night at the practice night, and ran a quicker lap time!?!?)

It should be fun but now that its tomorrow night I am thinking I should've got stuff ready today. Then opened a beer. I only have the touring car to run, I'll take my Lazer as I have carpet tyres for that so can run it in allcomers for a laugh.

Its funny how that happens, at the offroad club i run at the front runner for 2wd mod and stock runs the same car without changing ESC settings and wins both. He says hes faster with a slower car. The stock cars are 17.5T blinky, and a lot of people run their stock car with boost in mod to get 2 classes with 1 car, but this guy doesn't need boost. That is a low grip track though which probably means traction is more important than power

Got my new 8.4v battery for the grasshopper (dt0)3 after the original 7.2 was getting a bit quick to drain. Overlander were great, putting the hump 7th cell 25mm from the cable end it fits perfectly in the dt03 just behind the battery bar, and buggy fair flies now! Not sure if it would fit under the more snug confines of a stock dt03 shell, but it works for me! Added bones of shifting more weight forward too.

The Glasgow club don't have any rules (expect no nitro, and 2s lipo, although I ran 3s in a lunchbox 🙄) , we run 2wd in with 4wd,(even let a touring car join in, making the track a bit wider so he could go around the jumps!) and with as much boost or electronic wizardry as you can muster, and a 2wd with an 7.5t is winning the chamionship, running only a small amount of boost from 10k rpm. The track is a mix of old and new carpet, so it's more about smooth control than all out power, as a popular tyre manufacturer says, power is nothing without control 😎

Started the build on my orlandoo hunter f150, after two hours of work I've managed to get the front and rear diffs made and the upgraded shocks built. The thing is seriously tiny!

I'm really impressed with the build so far but it's super fiddly and if you're planning on building one I'd highly recommend a decent magnifying lamp and a set of helping hands to hold things while you work on them. I'd also say that unless you have halfway decent model building skills or are expecting a tamiya quality kit then this is not a model for you. I've had to dress and modify just about everything so far to get it to fit together.

This is the front diff and steering assembly along with one of the alloy threaded body shocks. You can easily see why it's taken so long to do so little.

Liking your progress.

Soo wanted one of these for my desk at work but got bewildered by combined ESC's, LiPo. Did you get it all together from RcMart.com or Hobbywing?

Might be one for next year (running out of room for 1:10 scale!).

That's good to know.

On paper the 8.4 nimh should be similar to a 2s lipo 🖒

@BadcrumbleI got it from rcmart as a complete deal although it comes with a nimh pack instead of a lipo and tbh I don't think it will actually need a lipo, the only thing I need to supply is my own receiver. Thankfully I've got loads of really small Frsky ones kicking around that I got when I was running my 2.4ghz converted ko propo esprit ii which should fit in without any problems at all.

Ordered my first ever NIB Tamiya.

The relatively unloved XV-01 Asterion.

I watched a few videos on You Tube and read a couple of build threads and worked out that I'm far more likely to get use out of the truck than the Subaru rally car I wanted. And I could always convert it later...

The extra 'odds and ends' I popped in the basket together with postage probably negated any savings but I've pressed the button now!

Was is this Tamico deal of the week that tempted you?

Started reassembling my RC10 Team Car. Have a new appreciation for Tamiya manuals.

Then realised it's a nice day (for November) and I hadn't given the Aqroshot a shake down run. So I stuck a battery in it and headed out into the street.

First hard turn and one of the Pro-line Dirt Hawg tyres at the rear jumped off the rim. Put that back on, tried again and the other side jumped off.

Guess I need to glue them!

F103GT kitted out with some 6mm fron t/ 9mm rear offset wheels with matching HPI X Pattern tyres all round... this should stop the rear end spinning out a bit... not sure if I need the extra grip on the front but this looks pretty hard to traction roll being so low.

Went racing tonight so the TA07 got a workout (or should that be worked over). I was awful to begin with but steadily improved and ended up 3rd in the B final which wasn't too bad. And the car is quick out of the box but there is a lot I can do which should shave a bit of time off too, so all in a successful night.

Its a shame I didn't have my F1 going as I would have been in race 1 and 7 out of 11 which would have been ideal. The F1 will bring a whole new level of frustration though!

I'm sorry to nit pick but saying you came 3rd without saying out of how many doesn't win you many Kudos points here... was it a 3 car race rofl???

As you practice more you will probably get a bit quicker too, atleast you've got your lap times to measure yourself against.

Where was your F1? ( which model did you buy again?)

That would have been pretty interesting racing for the first time... I'm pretty jealous you guys get to race these little things... I have to seriously consider where I move to next in relation to RC racing tracks.

Another couple of hours spent working on the orlandoo hunter f150 and I've managed to get the steering servo mounted, the wheels and tyres made up and the shocks built.

First pic is the front diff with the axle mounted steering servo fitted and the rear diff without any of the suspension components.

Second pic is the wheels, tyres and shocks.

Progress is incredibly slow because everything is so tiny and you have to drill out all the mounting holes for the ball studs etc and the supplied drill bit is next to useless. I've had to start off drilling a tiny pilot hole and working my way up through the sizes to get to the 1.4mm diameter needed.

The shocks are friction type but I've put a blob of grease into each body to give some damping and I'm toying with wrapping some lead based solder wire around the wheels to give them a bit more weight. Orlandoo do make a set of wheel weights but they are massive (comparatively speaking) and give the tyres zero flex when they're fitted.

Haha fair call, only 5 in the B final!

The F1 is the TRF102 but it doesn't have wheels, spur gear or a motor yet so wouldn't have been competitive...

You should find a local club, I have 5 near (ish) to me, well within 2 hours. 3 are within 20min drive and 1 45min, only 1 is 2 hours away. I have joined 2 and last night raced at a 3rd. Since they only race once a month I need to have a couple to race at.

Not bad for fresh out of the box!

Once you get to grips with it, and get it set up as you want it, you'll be mixing it in the A final.
