Boiling.  I thought about using the steamer but got paranoid about ending up having to clean out melted rubber and plastic

I've only seen boiling on the tinterweb, never ending well, I bought a cheap steamer (alot less painful 🙄) and ran a few through now without issue, and everyone I know a the club uses the steamer method.

Buying a cheap steamer sounds like a good idea.  Before throwing the other wheel in the bin I gave the hairdryer a try and it worked well for parts that were only lightly glued but was useless for anything else.

Charged my new batteries, Put the new Ballraces into the pre loved Neo Scorcher I collected yesterday and took it for a blast..

OMG, son was gob smacked about how it went and wants one as well just wants one with bigger tires, reckon he will be stoked when he finds out he has a Bush Devil 2 under the tree.... he helped me fit the ballraces to my Neo Scorcher and has always loved technic lego so reckon I will not get to actually build his Bush Devil as he will want to do it himself.....BOOOOO

Looking forward to getting a proper bashing session tomorrow.

Fitted a pair of Pro-line Edge tyres to the front of my Aqroshot. Not my favourite job ever. The foams needed trimming to fit which wasn't as easy as I thought. Then once I'd gotten the wheels back on the car they both wobble a bit.

I guess they need balancing so I'll have to look up how to do that, if I decide to keep those tyres on the wheels.

Then I did a bit more reassembly of my RC10. Fitted the steering bell cranks - more fiddly than it needs to be - and built the diff and transmission.

Replaced the friction dampers in my son's DT-02 with oil filled ones from a TT02b. Quite a good fit.

AND I unexpectedly won an auction on a used DF-03 MS for what I think was quite a low sum. Didn't actually know much about this car before and happend to come across the auction with only a few seconds to go . Placed a bid without thinking too much and was surprised to win. It seems to come  with quite a few very interesting hop-ups out of the box. Can't wait to have a closer look at it when it arrives!

Took the Neo Scorcher out for a bash on an all weather hockey pitch, run two new batteries through it (still on 1st and 2nd cycle) so did not last tooooo long.

Collected about half a bucket of gravel and recalled while its fun you need markers to set some sort of course.

After lunch headed over to my folks with acres of lovely tarmac and after a quick hoke in his garage, discovered 100's of empty flower pots, found some nice small ones that are perfect for marking a course, 1 battery lasted near 45 min as myself and both lads taking turns where not using anywhere near full power to get round course.

Eldest is starting to hint that he wants one for Christmas.....lol

My boys did that in my folks garage. Used the flower pots to mark a bit of a course.

Then decided it was more fun seeing how many pots they could crush with their cars!

We decided to see if we could hit every one in a single lap and also how far we could push them......boys could not put em back quicker than I could knock them away, they were both knackered by the end of it....lol

Trimmed up the first of many Honda Civic EG6 body shells.  I really need to get myself a new Dremel to save time sanding.

I have a few ideas in mind, but I might try Camel yellow (I forget whose car this is, although it looks like the first turn at Tsukuba Circuit).  Not sure about painting the bonnet, roof, and hatch black as well.

Another oops with the Aqroshot.

Trying out the new Proline Edge front tyres at my folks. First impressions of the tyres was great, I like them.

After a couple of minutes I set off to lap the garden, slightly misjudged my line and the right side rear wheel caught the wall of the garage. Then I saw the wheel bouncing off in its own.

Expecting to see lots of plastic rear wishbone carnage I tentatively approached. Surprisingly all of the plastic parts seem intact. However the wheel axle, for the dig bones I fitted during the build, has sheared clean off where the drive pin goes through!

Have ordered a pair of 54048 hardened axles as replacement.

Well personally I'm not superstitious but I had an old astra GTE back in the early 90s which had said number's on its plates and it had a very bad electrical problem I not joking it use to start itself when it was sitting on the drive outside the house and to cut a very disturbing and long story short it burst into flames coming back from a trip to Legoland on the M25:o

Burned another motor out on the ffffeiyue pita 03 lol. After a wee bit of modifying and some steel epoxy, I popped in a Cordless Drill 18V motor and it Rock Crawls, hoons round the garden again and doesnt even get warm.

Spent 2 hours messing about with my new ABC Grid chassis that came 80% built... seems the last 20% is the most difficult trying to translate a Japanese only manual arrgghhhh!

Shocks are a new design to me...now mounted and learning the shock spacers are a waste of time I've used a silver washer as Pre load to block the spring travel trying to gain some ride height so I can drive it not only on fag papers.... this has led me to also strip a 2mm hex head atop the rear left shock absorber... which all results in a rear wheel in the air when the other 3 are at rest on Terra Firma.... lets get off this page asap!

Who needs to eat lunch when you can wield a pair of lexan scissors?  This time it was the WRX STI NBR.

Still needs a sand but it came out pretty decent.  The rear end is definitely the fiddliest bit with two braces for the spoiler that need to be cut out just below the body at the back, which itself is a mess of different angles.  A couple of times I had to check the instructions just to make sure I wasn't cutting the wrong bits.

Now I need to order some paint.  PS16 Metallic Blue and PS48 Metallic Silver for the WRX, and maybe I need to go with PS2 Red for the Civic since it debuted on page 666.

I’ve been looking forward to this! What chassis will it be going over now that you have moved the TT02 on?

I bought my son's Christmas present, a rere Monster Beetle, fast eddie bearing set and Futaba 3PV radio.  The new radio will mean I can set his cars up to run off that (have 2 other Futaba sets so will use those rx's and buy some orange ones), and more importantly his Novafox and Monster Beetle will be his, and our 2 TT02B buggies will become the loaners.  I don't mind the TT02B being bashed up but cringe every time I see the Novafox hit something.  He is learning, and the 3PV will allow me to set the EPA on all his cars so they can get faster as he learns, rather than run a 55T crawler motor and then have to upgrade every so often.  Its also part of my master plan for him to come racing with me and allow me to fudge the budgets even more.

I added some stuff for me too, F103 front for my TRF102 to get the wider front end and allow use of the wider F103 wheels.  Unfortunately the king pins were out of stock despite being in stock a few days ago, so I have ordered some from another manufacturer which should be fine, but who knows.

I also ordered a couple of spring sets for my TA07 and Yeah Racing combined ride height and droop guage.  I thought for $8.90 I would give it a go, its got to be better than the "eye tool" I'm using now right?!

Also added some Yeah Racing wheel hexes, I figured it was worth a shot.  The Tamiya ones are so expensive and it may be that they are worth every cent and I've just thrown away $3.90 but if they work out ok then I've saved about $20.  Oh and a can of PS4 blue for the new touring car shell that my wife doesn't know I'm about to order too.  My one has a rip already and turns out it was the wrong one.

This brings the total cars in our house to 10, up from 1 old one a year ago.  This will be it for me for a long time unfortunately, until I can make up a story about being held back by the TA07 and needing the TRF419...but that won't be believable!  Maybe a Sand Scorcher for my 40th in a few years

Same here, although I've been dreading the decals a bit.  Went to buy the paint today but my usual place didn't have the PS-48 in stock.  It also costs more than twice the price of a regular can.  I might substitute bright silver instead since it's only the roof panel.

I'm still not sure which chassis to get for it.  Figured I'd start the body now to motivate myself to pick one.  I've come full circle and might get another TT-02 at this point.

I was put off PS48 by the price too!

What chassis options have you looked at? TT02 is certainly good value but not the most exciting out there. Is it just a shelfer or will it be driven?

If I was going to use the paint elsewhere I'd go for it, but I can't think of a body I'd ever use it on again (maybe eventually another WRX body for the shelf).

This one will definitely be a driver.  I was going to get a TT-02 Type S but it would still need the driveshaft and steering upgrade, which turns it into a very expensive TT02.  The TB-04, TA-05v2, and TA-06 seemed good, but then I got thinking about how they're a bit older now and overkill for just car park driving.  I had an idea to buy another XV-01 and recreate the XV-01 TC, but decided against having two of the same chassis.  After all that I'm now back to thinking I could get a TT-02D, since they come with all the basic hop-ups I'd get anyway.  By tomorrow I'll be back to thinking about the TT-02 Type S and it'll all start over again.

A new TB chassis must be due soon? Although the TB evo 7 (I think) has just been released, that looks cool...you could have 4 TT02's for the price though!

TA07 is cool and new, but probably not the best for carparks due to the flat chassis rather than the tub, it won't provide much protection against stones. TA06 is interesting and I thought looked good value, the base kits are about $100 more than the TT02 but come with bearings etc so probably need no upgrades. Heard mixed reviews about the combo belt/gearbox though

I like that selection process, its fun doing the research
