Not do but found. We have had to clear mums loft out and I found my TL01 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti Bosch from the early 90's. I had thought I lost this but it was sat in a Beatties bag up behind the chimney breast. Also still had the original Techniplus stick controller and battery

Hi. Any better? I'm trying to make use of effectively just the one sheet to keep costs down if/as and when I get a set. Obviously both sides would be done if I went ahead with this

Did you put the grill on the intake?  That looks awesome!

Finally painted the Pajero Body which I bought second hand some years ago.

Colour is Tamiya Pearl Green (TS-60).

While the paint is drying I will think about if I should make it 2-tone or not.

As the chrome bumpers are scratched, I thought about painting them matte black.

Thanks. Yeah I did both sides. I made a complete mess spraying the shell so didn't mind practising on this. I kind of got lucky free handing the cutting but using the decals as a template would help. I then got some fine silver mesh and sprayed it black with PC paint. I then used a thin layer of super glue to hold the mesh on the back

Taken advantage of Tamico’s daily deal for Carson 2.4Ghz wheel controller with a receiver - might even be a four channel receiver*. Hope they are cheerful as well as cheap - I’ve ordered three!

Added a load of parts for my ORV project and some hop-up suspension mounts for my XV-01.

What didn’t happen last week was my Tamiya day. Best laid plans and all that...

*EDIT - 2 channel only but that’s cool.

Oh I missed that offer, now it's a Boomerang for 144Euros!

How much did you get the radio set for?

ahhhh Tamiya days.... good old days!

Posted

@Jason1145 they were Euro 19.99 so not much off but worth it when buying a few. Basically off-set postage. Then added the front endow a Monster Beetle and suspension mounts for the XV01. Stopped before adding the Black Porsche or the NSU...

The last Tamiya day was back in the summer!

Oh, for some warm weather and time to have a go at painting...

Yeah. From my understanding, you're just mocking up an idea to see what it will look like before you have the stickers made, correct? On my previous comment, and maybe you've already planned to do this, I was suggesting to blend this area better so that there's no defined line separating the two pieces.

I gave a friend a Jimny Wheelie for Christmas. He in turn gave me a Unimog Wheelie in red. While I'm completely good with the gift. I do have an odd thing that I noticed about the kit. I've seen the various prepainted Unimog wheelie kits in Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue, and Green. The boxes matched the body color in the one's that I saw. However mine does not. I don't care, but I just thought it was weird. See the pictures below... the box is orange. But it has a little decal saying that the kit inside is painted red. Either way, its a cool gift!

Probably another money saving thing Tamiya is doing, can't be bothered to make a box art photo in red, so just slap a sticker on it!!! Just really miss the old box art that was illustrated on these kits instead of a mocked up photo shopped picture.

Been busy.... kinda non RCish per say but I was trying to assemble a new desk from a couple smaller desks my mom gave me.

So this is before...

Clean

Normally

The idea...

IMG_2969_zpsvfghewye.jpg

Work to fill in the gap (being poly'd - solid mahogany planks)

IMG_2953_zpspenhsn0w.jpg

Perfect fit

IMG_2964_zpscdk2buwh.jpg

And now done for the most part (still needs more organization bits)

IMG_2965_zpslcw32ari.jpg

Now since I like real wood vs cheap laminate kaka I will start polying the two pieces tomorrow to replace the cheap laminated kaka that my stuff is sitting on. Would be nice to be done by Xmas

That looks great, and poly don't stick to kaka does it??? LOL I like where you are going with that and I think you need a small 3D printer in that corner, perhaps the one from Dremel??? They are going to get cheap enough in another decade to have them in your own home you know.

Nah, Poly is fully hardened... right now the plan is to put my charger and soldering station in that corner and of course whatever overflow from the work side :)  3D printer would be nice.... maybe in the future

Yeah just a mock up. So rather than overlap, just line them up next to each other? I'll have a play around with it a bit more. Based on the design I'm not sure I can blend it much more. Cheers for the help

And you know whats the best at all? With the kit and my little investment, I have enough spares to build a second one. Its a devils circius. As soon as you have enough spares, you built another model and have to buy spares again...

Well one question about the shell artwork. Does anyone know the signature?

I bought my son an Axial SCX10 Deadbolt.  He enjoyed driving my CC-01 so much the other day that I really wanted to get him something.  It's been raining here for pretty much 2 days straight so the trails were a little goopy and slippy.  Wet leaves on wet clay make for quite the interesting combination.  :o

The Axial is out of the box stock except for the motor.  I swapped out the included 27T with a 55T while the battery was taking its first charge.  I think a 45T would have been a better match for the speed of my CC-01 with its 60T.  Man that thing just rolls over all sorts of obstacles.  I think I prefer my CC-01 though.  The more scale CC-01 forces me to pick my line carefully which is so much fun.

Seems normal Tamiya behaviour for small runs of limited edition models. The Candy Green Grasshopper is the same -standard box art with a sticker indicating that it is the green one. I seem to recall that the Black Edition Grasshopper also took this approach.
