Yesterday I finished up the "Team Build" CC-01 Amarock (Sno-marock)

But today I restored and old model of a Chevy Nova built back in 1988 with a terrible paint job,,,used Tamiya TS paint Technifonica blue and Testors "wet look" clear coat lacquer on top-

LOOKING GREAT Steve, too bad you flew down last year, THIS year if you drive down, I have a whole rack of Tamiya TS you can cherry pick for projects, better yet, perhaps I should just make an excuse to bring them up to ya> :D I have to say, that is a nice color, but for me, not the right year Nova, I am not a shoebox fan, but rather '68-'74 era, but to each their own.

It's a lot of fun driving on a course you can setup on your driveway for sure.  Sidewalk chalk is cheap!  I've also been eying up these I found on Amazon.  They're 6" wide and made of rubber so they won't skid and move around, plus they lay flat so you can drive over them like real track dots.

Thanks!

Great, now you got me thinking, tell ya what, YOU order them, and send me half since 50 sounds like an awful lot. :D

Pulled the front end of the Lazer apart to see what parts I need to order after coming off second best with the fence at the track yesterday. It did a proper job, not only did I break the lower arm but also the pin that holds it on, snapped in 2. Luckily it is all of USD$13 for replacements from Amain, but I will add a spare set of arms too. This was at the start of race 2 yesterday and so i called it a day rather than wait around for over an hour in blistering hot sun for a 6min race of a car that goes in circles. If i had the spares it was a 10min repair job.

You live and learn, I think that is why some auctions on ebay have the running chassis and then nearly enough parts trees to build another car, all because of racing spares.

Took the kids to the park this morning after dropping the missus off at work, it's far too hot to take them any later in the day. Took my CPE Terminator clod along since I havent driven it in ages!

It was great giving four random kids exercise, and my 2.5yo daughter, who wasn't chasing the car... I said "Oi!" Remember what Daddy said, No chasing boys until you're 25!" Got a giggle out of the other parents

Off work ill so needed something to stave off the boredom. Stickered up the GH2 Super G shell ready to sell. This shell must have been the original runner. Was in a right state. I stripped it and gave it a coat of Audi Silver I had in stock. Stickers are from the test sets of Grasshopper2 Junior Dress Up decals MCI helped me with.

Just haven't been able to find another fluoro wheel to replace the Wild One rear that must have been fitted during its life. Another Super G with complete wheelset popped up recently so I nabbed that, hence giving this a lick of paint to make nice and move on.

So far today I've done me periodic check for some hard springs for the GMade XD shocks on my Twin Detonator. Been looking for months, now and then searching for the GMade part number for them and seeing what shows up.

Today when I did it, Modelsport and Wheelspin both showed stock expected today and RCmart showed they had some in stock. Thinking that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush I ordered 2 pairs from RCMart. If they do actually have them, even with shipping they'll be cheaper than if bought more locally and seeing as I've been looking since the summer, a few more days waiting for delivery doesn't matter.

Over the weekend I also posted off all of the Core-RC micro receivers that I had, some to buyers from TC and the rest to a chap from Facebook. Still have the transmitter and standard receiver to re-home.

To replace the Core-RC receivers I've been looking all over for reasonably priced Futaba S-FHSS receivers, found some but still need a few more. Unhelpfully the cheap OrangeRX ones which are compatible are out of stock at Hobbyking.

Yep, been there, done that.  My "local" track is almost a 2 hour drive.  I once ended my day during the first qualifier because I kissed a pipe and ended up snapping my left front suspension arm.  I didn't have any spares with me.  Doh!  Now I always bring 2 sets of spare suspension arms.

This evening I decided to paint one of the kids Neo Fighters body ready for when he finishes building it. Not my best work but this thing is gonna get destroyed anyway so not bad for the ultimate basher!

Yep, learnt my lesson now.  2 sets of arms and new pins ordered.  Unfortunately the next race meet is in March, the club is holding the 8th scale North Island champs in Feb so they are giving the 8th guys a decent run up to that.  It means that the track will be finished and about 30% bigger though by the time I race again so thats a bonus.

Oh well, onroad on Saturday so at least I still get to go racing.

Got home after work last night to find both kids were already in bed, which is something of a rarity, so took the opportunity to crack on with a few small jobs, which then resulted in the OH nearly having heart attack when she discovered how much kit I had stashed in the airing cupboard!

First off was to finish polishing up & fixing a pair of SRB ranger rear body mounts using parts from an F1,

Then I test fit the clear rear lenses into the Sandscorcher light pods that I'd adapted from a re-release kit (originals on the left modified re-re on the right) you'd never tell the difference!

Decided to test my newly acquired Ranger shell on a chassis, also tried putting a sunroof into it which then chipped the paintwork 😒 I haveno idea what colour this actually is so then had to try & mix the colour by eye to match & touch up,

And finally got round to starting to rebuild my Sandscorcher basher shell (which is now looking too nice for a basher), started by painting in the infills on the VW badge, a tiny detail but one I think makes a lot of difference, I decided to use smoked glass parts from a Blitzer rather than the usual clear parts and they suit the paint colour perfectly

Oh, also managed to prep 2 original Rough Rider shells & a Lunchbox for spraying (hopefully tonight)

All in all one of the most productive days I've had in weeks! 😁

its the pink force. but it does suit it tbh

I'm not going to lie, the green is a lot nicer.

Just did this as a bit of fun and I'll run it with this one and keep the green one nice.

This evening I stickered the Neo Fighter body that I painted yesterday. Annoyingly I got a few paint bleeds on this but it's one of the kids bashers so not the end of the world.

Also painted this. Well my gf mostly painted it, she chose the shell and colour :)

It's ready for white behind it, which I don't have. Might use silver again at the pink turned out really well with silver behind.

The Frog Racing Team stickers.  I've seen a lot of Neo fighters with those, are they included in the kit or do people buy the Frog decals for them?

They're included on the sheet.
