Finally got round to removing the radio lid on the recently aquired M38 Willy and to my surprise it's all complete & has period Futaba radio gear fitted (even if it is for a plane), I was going to fit some Acoms kit but may leave this in place. Gave the chassis a once over and other than being dirty it's all complete & in really good condition even the wheels and tyres are in decent nick.

Also fitted wipers to the Scorcher, they were badly brush painted in Molotow chrome & have come out really well considering.

LETS SEE that Futaba gear please, perhaps I can get you anything missing.

I do need to find my chrome pen and try it out soon.

Went and visited a LHS that a lot of people at the onroad club talk about. It was a throwback to the 90s just on a smaller scale. A lot of Tamiya kits there, given the size of the shop. Also heaps of spares on the walls. I was just really having a nosy but bought a pinion as I spent about half an hour in there and asked a lot of questions about my TA07. He will even add little bits to rcmart orders for me which is good to know, often the shipping is more than the part

Here's a pic of the receiver & a bad pic of the servo model...

The Molotow is really good, if you can decant it and airbrush its even better. One thing I will say is that after painting/spraying it don't touch it for at least a week. It seems to take forever to fully cure.

Thanks, that looks nice, old Futaba ripmax gear and what a surprise, 6 channel RX. You can peel that blue plastic off as it was just a protective film from ages ago, I bet it will make the RX look fantastic. Of course if you don’t want to keep the Futaba gear, I would love it 😊

Today I did this

Sand Scorcher

I'm not quite sure where this is headed...

Hand drawn/painted?

Looks ace imo.

Proper dirty beat up hotrod/racer look maybe. Wonder if you could chop the roof? Go the whole hog!

This evening I stripped down the leaking CVA shocks from my basher Racing Fighter and rebuilt them. I used green goo on the "O" rings so hopefully they won't leak again. I must say that whoever built them must of rushed. There were still bits of the plastic sprue on the parts and they just didn't seem very well done. My OCD got the better of me and every little piece got cleaned to within an inch of its life

Today, I bade farewell to my Buggy Champ 2009:

It is now on its way to a new owner on TamiyaClub :) The shelf sure looks empty where it once was, but it was time.

Started changing all my shocks over to a few drops of 2000wt diff oil(just enough to lube to piston as it travels).

Done messing with rebuilding shocks all the time.

I installed Fox rims with oval block tires on my old Falcon. Feels so good to see this thing in one piece again after being a box of parts for 20 plus years!

I'll let you know on the radio gear, I've literally got a sack full of vintage Acoms radio equipment waiting to be used in builds.

So far today, I've placed my first order from the Hobbyking Hong Kong warehouse. It's for a bunch of OrangeRX Futaba compatible receivers, and a few sensor leads because they were cheap.

Now to see how long shipping takes

Looking at the parts for my double seat Willy projects I realised that I'm missing the rear support bars for the roll cage. As this is already going to be a bit different I started to wonder how these missing parts could actually be used to become a feature.

I recently bought a couple of Holiday buggy roof panels for. Pnother readon than they were literally a couple of pound for the pair... time to section, extend and find a way to fit them to the WW2 roll cage...

Once all the glue has gone off it'll get wrapped in black vinyl or canvas.

Also decided to check out the shell now the melted ABS/acetone mixture has gone off. In all honesty I don't think I'll be using filler ever again on a hard body, the results are pretty impressive! Below shows what it looks like even before sanding & finishing;

Watched some YouTube videos from those massive RC Truck meets.

Looked up prices for some of the amazing kit I saw in action.

Added one to the mental shopping list, but below other stuff that is way more achievable (helicopter gunship, pet leopard, house on the moon).
