I'm envious of your play area.:D In fact I spent the time imagining the short course race track I'd build in there and the elaborate  crawler course that would fill the entire back section of the barn. Then I thought about how great it would be to be in there during a heavy rainstorm.

Fitted new wheels to my M06 Miata body. Yes, M06, cause Miata's are RWD. :) (Still need to do stickers.)

Neo Scorcher body set for the spare parts TT02B that I built.

Protoform TransAm. Still need to ask what wheels I need for this body. It's very wide and will be going on a TT02 chassis.

Agreed, and I am curious. Is that your barn area? What was it used for before? Storing hay?

@Kingfisher sadly the barn isn’t always clear. About 200 tonne of fertiliser will be going in there soon. And has previously had corn and seed in it. But makes for a dry area when available :) if a little dusty.

Did the 4-5hr journey (traffic, etc.) into Manila to pick up a relative from the airport. While we were there we detoured to SM Megamall so that I could look in Lil's Hobby Centre, the last place I know to buy Tamiya related goodness that's within reach. I was hoping to find one of these and was pleasantly surprised to find it there...

Decieded that i didn't like the kit grill decal colour so ordered some chrome ones instead of e-bay but the fit is useless so I have left the kit ones one and put the chrome one over them.

sorry for the bad pic but my phone had difficulty coping with the chrome decal

Thanks. That looks good. I like the color choice. I'm planning to paint mine Tamiya Translucent Red backed with Tamiya Bright Silver.

Thanks! I'll check them out. I noticed that the body set includes screws, but I don't see any screw heads on yours. How does the front end attach to the body? Did you use glue or the included double-sided tape? Also, why did they give two front ends?

you can screw the front end on with the screws if you plan on racing it as it will be easy to replace it and that is the reason why their is another front end spare in the kit. being mine is for display only i used tape to attach it

iv'e just brought this also have a look if you like the pontiac you should also like this .......

Thanks. I do like that split-bumper Camaro. It was a tough choice on which one to get, when I got the Trans Am. I still may get the Camaro. Whenever you finish yours, you should post a picture of it. I'd like to see it.

Stained my truck bed, now I have to figure out how to make some strap hinges for the gate.FnW4Qz4.jpgfmh92oT.jpg

Sprainted an undercoat of silver to the body. Only the cabin will be used, the moulded truck bed will be cut away.

Did I miss a step, this is a lexan body, so silver would go on last, unless of course you will be painting it on the OUTSIDE????? Very cool idea you have working here though

Today I have painted and stickered the other of the boys DT03's. This time a Racing Fighter :) He asked for something like The Flash. Having never watched The Flash this was the best I could come up with!

If you remember where, drop me a PM please.

I had seen them too, struck out today on an eBay search to find them, seems the words CCHand shows up commonly with hyperdetailed parts for crawling and Tamiya trucks, but I didn't find the handles you would want.

I was getting so ready to sell my Tamtech BMW GTP:

103tv8k.jpg

Upon further examination, it was decided that all it really needed was a good clean and for its Tamtech 201 radio to be found again after it got packed up somewhere. It was also determined that the shell would be too fragile to mail anywhere, with its 30+ year old decals.

So, I gave it a gentle clean, and it already looks much better:

2iktgrr.jpg

Now to track down that radio... The custom batteries for this model are also getting charged, if they are still useful.

Meanwhile, the fire sale has yet to be smothered completely, for I might list my Wheelie Rally shell (chassis already sold) for sale:

m7rp6f.jpg

If it happens, it will go for a few dollars and an essay ;)

I sure hope you find the radio, don't know if I have any extras these days as my entire collection is absolutely rubbish for organized. I have been playing Hot Wheels too much recently. Nice work cleaning it up though.

...logged in to Tamiyaclub for a  browse for the first time in ages!

Lots of projects to catch up on and posts to read back through. Left the hobby for a while but now making a bit of a comeback, sold some stuff, bought some stuff and just trying to get organised!

Hope everyone is well and look forward to updating my own project threads soon.

What are we using since the whole photobucket debacle? I'm sure there's a sticky thread somewhere I haven't found yet!

Same here buddy, been too much to catch up on for me as well, a bit overwhelming and it doesn't help me that PhotoSCUMBucket isn't working as it ought to. I haven't gotten enough time on the home computer unit to work with Flickr, heck, since this iPad has come into my life, my digital camera hasn't seen the light of day in ages. I hope the batteries aren't perished.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Miatas ARE RWD, how could Tamiya do that to us???? Great to know it can be done right.

On that Trans Am, I have an extra nose here too, from another guy on TC, he stated you could make Jello with it, I have given it a thought once or twice. LOL

On the wheels choice, I am thinking the 2 piece BBS style Tamiya wheel would do you great for the width as it is adjustable and adds some more Tamiya to the build

Part number 50549

AND they make a two piece 5 spoke wheel too, in white, so it could work too Part number 50673 and Tower showed those in stock today.

HPI made a wheel that mimicked the "turbo" wheel on the later Trans Ams, don't know if they were in M chassis size only or not. Of course I am not getting any hits on ebay on that wheel right now and so I can't point you into any direction on that, but it does remind me that there are the HPI VINTAGE wheels that require the VINTAGE rubber tires to mimick a thicker sidewall. They copied the design of the old American Racing Torq Thrust wheels quite well.

@Crash Cramer Yes, I will be sprainting the outside and the silver will then be visible after I weather the truck with fine sandpaper to simulate the paint wearing away to the bare metal underneath. An idea I saw mentioned here a few times.

Its also an old technique used if a polycarbonate body is replicating a soft top, you would paint the soft top section on the outside with light mists to give a matte/satin finish. if you spray ps paints on it normaly or slightly thicker on the outside you will still get a nice glossy finish :)

As a 1:1 Miata owner, it's the only way I could do it. A FWD Miata is just ridiculous.

THANK YOU! for those wheels. I did not know they existed, and totally fit a Trans Am. I'll get the set you showed, and the set Topforcein suggested for when I get the Camaro body. Again, thanks to both of you.

I joined the committee of my offroad club and had the first meeting last night.  I had no idea what to expect but the meeting actually covered a lot of ground and was really productive.  I didn't add much as it was my first time there, but I wanted to get involved with the club properly and see how it all works.  It looks like the club has come a long way in the last 3 years and all the hard work is paying off.

Also got the parts I needed to fix the Lazer ZX6 after the last race meet, so that is all back together now.  I made it an afternoon of it today and adjusted the ball diff in the Ultima (I still have no idea what I'm doing, but it was far too tight before, and I learned a lot from one of the F1 racers the other week too so hoping that F1 and 2wd buggy are the same...) so hopefully that will go more straight than round in circles now.

Then did a bit to the TA07 since I have the motor temps under control, just changed to a smaller spur gear and bigger pinion.  I have ordered a IR temp gun which still hasn't arrived, so will be able to test it at the next race meet.

The TA07R manual has been released too so have spent a bit of time comparing manuals.  Its given me a few ideas on areas which could be improved (I assume that Tamiya would fix the faults in the R rather than add unnecessary bits), once I have sorted out my base setup and learned to drive.

RC-related ?  Very tenuous really, Wild Kitty's only there for scale...

The object on the right is my Christmas present from my wife, a 3kg RAF practice bomb.  It sits on my desk/bench, and before anyone calls the bomb squad, it's perfectly safe (although it's only a practice round, there's a flash and smoke charge for judging aiming and this one's spent).  I found a genuine safety pin/tag online and retro-fitted it.

Anyway, it was also missing the cap off the top but a lucky search revealed a 69mm prop spinner for an RC aircraft might be a good match. I had to dremel out the boss and fill/sand/paint it (too cold for painting really) but it's close enough until I can find a real one.
