My daughter decided she wanted an rc car just like her brothers so we got this on ebay for under £50.

It looks like it was built and never used its imaculate.

Decided to swap msc for esc went for a £7.50 one off ebay and it works a treat!

New look for Ultra G. The neon yellow of the previous stickers was quite weak and never really matched the wheels, which was what one as aiming for. Decided to just get a colour I like, and I love orange. Much stronger I think

Grasshopper2 Ultra G gets a new look. Neon Orange instead of green and blue instead of red on the Dress Up Decal Option 2 set from MCI RacingGrasshopper2 Ultra G gets a new look. Neon Orange instead of green and blue instead of red on the Dress Up Decal Option 2 set from MCI Racing

I really like that color combo!

I thought this weekend was going to be sunny for once.  This morning was nice.

I was going to prep and spray paint my Sand Rover...

But it seems like Pennsylvania will stay soggy until Wednesday... No wait, it says an afternoon thunderstorm on Wednesday too.  Do I have to move to London where rains less, just to paint the darn thing? (or 'hematological thing,' to use the local lingo...)

@Juggular, given the constant precipitation here (22 miles West of  Londinium) since yesterday morning I was going to suggest it wasn’t worth the move but the forecast is improving through the week..just as most of us go back to work...

That looks like the last 3 months in Auckland but it looks like we've turned a corner. Daylight savings soon too.

Took my nitro buggy to the track today. It was the 8th club day but i couldn't make it in the morning so thought inhad timed it to see the last final and then into running mine. There was a huge turnout and nitro buggy went down to D Main, and the mains are half an hour, so I was waiting around for 3 hours, well, watching races and did some marshalling. Its a good time to get into nitro buggy, there were 39 buggies and thats just a club day.

Ran a few tanks through mine and it was a lot of fun. I was surprised how linear the throttle was, it wasn't far off electric. It also was pretty instantaneous too so I could clear the doubles even if I didn't get a perfect line through the corners. The double double was interesting, I cleared the first then backed off the throttle and the car coasted over the next double.

A lot of people were interested in my car because it was shiny and new, but I also didn't realise what engine I have. It turns out my car is basically the spec that the team drivers around the world run. The light blue head on the engine means something to other people, to me it was just a good deal. Who knew the OS Mx engine would attract that kind of attention.

Now the clean up, lucky I should have time tomorrow, its pretty involved compared to electric

Just bought a monster lot of Thundershot parts to help with restoring my last 4 Thundershot series cars. They came up on eBay and I reckoned I would need about half of them. It included two new bumpers and those who have worked on this series of buggies will know they sell for over £25 plus postage!! so reckon I just saved a small fortune. (come on we all tell ourselves that lie don't we??)

I meant to ask you because I might have missed that part, how did you get the OS Mx?

Mine was secondhand from the guy who supplied all the gear, got his servos too. He upgrades when they are about half done. Are they made in limited numbers or something?

Good to hear you got some track time @Jonathon Gillham , thought with it being a known guy you got it from, it would be 'that's blah blah's old car' (get that alot over here, with the 1:1 stuff too, never feels to be your car!)

Yeah that happens here too.  This was a new kit so it looked shiny and new. Its funny how people either think the car is better because it belonged to so and so, or its someones cast off so must be bad.

I asked about the engine too, apparently a 6 month wait list for them which is why so many people asked, think they must be on the waiting list.

It's generally, last year's must have, and won alot, and everyone watch's it, then it spends most it's time on its roof 😂

Installed the LRP motor in the F104gt mini build, with a teu101 esc, I hope it will work fine, not a lot of effort to get the F104 mini going. With 18T pinion and hopefully 70T spur 0.6.

Also I am thinking to use a Alfa Giulia sprint body rather then a Mazda Mx5, because I am not sure if touring car wheels could be fit on a MX5 Mazda body.

LOL! I was about to say it looks like the Rose Gold from Wilko! Their paint is actually pretty decent stuff for the price, I have no issues with it really. I see they recently bought out some new colours. Gotta get some of that Wizard purple!

Wizard purple... I'm in a purple mood so might check that out but I doubt I'll be painting a hard body shell for a while.

Today I have the day to myself... ahh bliss.... dropped the wife to the station to catch her train to work, went down the cafe for a full English breakfast.... that's my calorie quota for the whole day before 8am rofl!

Now back home I continued on with my Tamiya La Ferrari shell..... after staring at my paint cans for 10 minutes I decided on PS45 Transluscent purple... with some black for the rear valence and then to back it with a chrome.

vs9tJc0.jpg

After painting the rear valences black I got onto the main body, here's one coat of purple applied

Aaaaaaaand here's 4-5 coats later.... I never know when to stop with transluscents as they are quite transluscent..... strange that.

Some backing with the chrome

Looks like Cadbury purple.... that's good enough for me

Out in the sun I can see some faded patches.... still ok for me though.

It was only now as I type this that I realise I have forgotten to paint the two little lexan side air dams in the matching purple.... time to go dig the rattle can out the bin and hope there's enough left - gulp... back soon.

Still, it's only held on by double sided tape so I can easily remove if it looks out of place with the colour mis match.

Forgot how involved these bodyshells can be, over 3 hours to apply decals!!! This does also include making the insect like wing mirrors which gives you a r mirror sticker which you need to stick onto some spare lexan and cut out to shape and fit.... good use of recycling off cuts... same goes for the "LaFerrari" rear number plate.... the finished look is very nice but just ignore the rear lights... they required more finesse than I allowed/have!

I'll be starting a "Supercar" thread soon with all my supercars... this will be one of them along with a lovely Ferrari Enzo I just received from Mr Bigstuff.

Here's The Ferrari

carbon fibre sticker them as they would prob be a option anyway on the 1.1 car
