I put in a bearing for Flysky GT3B.

Also, carved up 2 pieces of white styrene and glued them on the inside of the battery chamber.  Without the case for AA batteries pushing the battery door out, the battery door was just loosely flapping about.  This fixed that problem.

AMG is a thing of beauty.  I wasn't sure of the matt top coat, but it really sets it off.

Very nice.

I used to paint static Trucks in gloss. Then one day decided to 'weather' one using Matt's & Semi-gloss. I think Matt paint helps show off the shape & detail better in some cases as then its not all lost in the refections of Gloss.

What would you think to a nice little ramp in the middle of the long (ish) straight... only about 3-5cm high, just to get airborne before hitting the left hander.. that worms eye view would love that.

I've actually been toying with that idea in my head.  Good minds think alike!

Finally got around to the PS-5 Black spray of my Marui Ninja. Decals on, only need to smoke the windows at a later point. B)

Painted a bodyshell..... I decided not to spend £90 on an original Tamiya Lambo Gallardo shell and picked up this Matrixline one for a much cheaper.... lets see how it turns out!

I've trimmed it already and made bodypost holes to fit my TT01 (I think!)

Window masks are good quality, not so sure about the decal sheet

A new venture for me... Sparkle paint....... I recently bought a blue Ferrari shell with awesome sparkle paint flecks under the blue, so when I saw this Sparkle paint t was a no brainer to try on this shell... the ony decision was to go lime green or Tangerine

Right, 3 coats of sparkle, and 4-5 coats of Tangerine orange and 2 light coats of white backing....and here we have it

Turned out really nice.... time for an outdoor shot, the sparkle is great and the one can could probably do 3 shells it has such good coverage.

Bashed the xv01 around the garden this lunchtime . A little too hard, and split the front of the shell. Twice. In the same style turning misjudgement into a post. Cricket bat tape repairs this evening.

The crash also managed to pop out a front arm. A lot to take off to get it back in, so I’m hoping there’s no other break in there that allowed it to escape.

This evening some more progress with the Corolla body for my ta05v2 kit. Quirky looking thing, but it has charm. Too late for pics, but there’ll be beauty shots when it’s done :)

Shoo Goo!!!! <_<

Looks like a bad reaction somewhere on my light buckets..... leaving a black outline visable through the shell.... I probably didn't give enough backing with the white...... anyhows, gold light buckets are fitted to the Gallardo shell... I need to hide these glaring (to me) black lines surrounding all 4 buckets..... time to dig out my left over decal race sponsor sheets and make this Lambo a track sponsored thingy.

Installed these on my XV-01:

Siped the stock Rally Block tires to soften the tread up a bit and give a little bit more surface area for grip.

Ended up with a kind of Dukes of Hazard Gallardo.... had to place all certain decals around the lights to cover shoo goo marks from inside the shell.... and it was only at the last minute I found the Dukes of Hazard numbers to fill the sides of the car with something... now I love it!

Gold light buckets with the clear lens cover decal came out well.

Had to make my own carbon vents and place them near the headlights to cover the blemishes from the shoo goo

Took this for a little spin after spending ages getting the dust off every square inch of it whenever I had a spare 5 minutes.

The stock electronics were a little wimpy so I swapped them out for a more powerful board from another Nikko I completely converted to hobby grade but it was still sluggish. Turns out the stock 40T motor uses wire about half as thick as usual for the windings so the armature was only half full. Quite a novel idea in a way, basically makes a motor that can't draw much current so pulls slowly but gets up to an ok speed. Quite a good idea for something they knew would be abused by kids and given full throttle with the wheels locked up etc.

So I took that motor out and put in a cheap Austar rebuildable 35T, much better! Decent punch but the top speed isn't enough to endanger the pretty shell too much!

It will now be a hybrid shelf queen/occasional runner.

Saturday I rebuilt my M05 Mini Cooper chassis with M05V2 chassis halves so it could accept a hard case LiPo.  The instruction sheet that came with the parts sprue, and the instruction manual for the M05 PRO V2, shows flipping the battery holder plates, snipping some nubs, and using glass-reinforced tape to hold the LiPo in position.  That's great if you don't mind leaving the LiPo in the car all the time, but I really wanted to be able to install and remove batteries like every other chassis I have.  Today I did a crude design and 3D printed some end plates for the existing battery holder; with a little weather stripping foam in the battery compartment and these plates the LiPo is very secure, easy to change, and it's easy to switch back to a standard stick pack later if so desired.  Anyhow, this car is done and ready for some driving.

Got some paint down on my next shell. First attempt at masked flames. We shall see!

Also - after some prompting on the build thread - got the parts required to do Ultra G conversions to Grasshopper 2 / Super Hornet / Rising Fighter cars onto my Shapeways store and listed them with a quick how to on TC Designs. I'd love to see an Ultra Hornet or Ultra Fighter done by someone at some point.
