Plastidip CC01

There. Just noticed the small tear at the top- will have to repair that

I thought, "nothing could heat-shrink that well."  But it's not, is it?  Is it some kind of a paint?

Liquid rubber

Flüssiggummi = Liquid Rubber. Useful for all sorts of things according to the print in the side. You can paint it on (4-5 layers) or just dip things in. Available in multiple colours and latex free! :D

Flugzeuggummi? (just kidding)  It must be similar to liquid rubber tape.  I hadn't thought to use that!  Thank you for that idea!

Fitted some more appropriate front rubber and it actually stopped raining so I went and got TRF211 3GL dirty.

Grass was VERY damp. Still turned in super well but there was a distinct lack of rear grip. I guess the whole point of 3 gear laydown transmissions is for high grip so possibly not a surprise.

Try a longer rear spike, I use schumacher full spikes on very similar terrain with a DT-03. Different weight distribution with the motor obviously but the spikes may need to dig in deeper. Cool conversion, like it 👍

Just have orderd a antenna holder for my F104GT mini project and for my df02 a brushless combo with radio gear and new CVA dampers for it. Will be a daily winter basher, expect a lot of muddy pictures in the future as this combo is rated as waterproof :)

Thanks. If it stays wet I will get some full spikes. I moved to those on the rear of the Thunder Dragon to balance the grip and they worked a treat. Plus they look rad 😁 Currently these minispikes are glued though so it's faff to change, and I am running on astro on Saturday so going to leave it for now and hope it dries up a bit. Glad you like it. Mechanically it all seems sound. Just hoping to find a good setup.

Got a bit excited about ordering this 9T brushless combo, so much that I orders some more parts for my df02, finally a runner on 3s :)

No springs???

Springs are overrated. Everybody says you need them, but you don't. They just add to the cost of the build. :)

agreed - i use the same principle with servos and batteries - hands down the biggest weight saving you can make to a car B)

This afternoon I put the finishing touches to this:

2018-10-17_03-17-54

It is the 50th Anniversary Edition one with the black TRF damper, carbon reinforced uprights, etc.

Special thanks go to fellow forum member @Fuijo who did a brilliant job of painting the driver's face and helmet:

Getting my DB01R ready for the track day at Robin Hood Raceway on Saturday (come along if you are free. You just need BRCA membership). When I bought it the windows were blank unmasked, stickers were peeling and mono colour paint job dull. Didn't want to do another shell so I cut some leftover window mask to make windows. Got some cheap hornet repro decals from MCI with my last order on a whim because I liked the stripes. And sponsor decals. Because sponsor decals 😉

yesterday after work, I took some time to get closer to a finish of my F104GT mini build.

Rear body mounts installed and front suspension working on, the front uproghts need to be trimmed a bit so the spring and all could fit.

Rebuild the gearbox of the Neo Fighter with the new gearbox plasics. Now to clean the old grease from the CVDs and rebuild them. Next, clean the suspension arms etc....etc....

Also, got a bonus Tamiya as my father was cleaning out his attic, and found my old Leopard I A4 tank!I thought I never finished it, but it is completely operational. Not sure if I should simply sell it, or keep it and give it an upgrade.

One side trimmed. Got no room for springs at this moment, I am not sure if this F103GT upright combination wirh special king pins and f104 front arms will work. I’d rather install f104 carbon reinforces uprights with special king pins and order some 12mm hex adapters with bearings.

No front springs, but it looks really good.
