@TWINSET I love the look of your workbench. I’m totally new to this hobby, was making my first car today while the toddler napped, had stuff all over the living room, then had a mad scramble to put away as he woke up. One day I too shall have this set up. I also watched Netflix while building.

So, to keep with the thread. I christened my shiny new tools assembled the first few sections of my new build. I also got covered in superglue and tissue paper...

Ordered the small ball bearing, and a steel pinion, for the rising fighter. While that is in transit, I can clean the remaining parts and reassemble up to the gearbox. :)

over the weekend I started building a storage trolley for all my bits and pieces. I got as far as being able to put rods and bar on the sides. The centre will hold sheets of plastic and I'll make a top hold smaller pieces and maybe some tools.

I had some RC4WD mud slingers arrive not too long ago and realised I didn't have any rims. So trawling thingiverse I found these. I still need hex adapters to make them work properly.

I also found a front bumper and 3D printed it, a pity I stuffed up the paint job though :o I'll have to trim of the moulded in front bumper to get it to fit properly. But at least it'll hide that ugly brick the CC-01s have.

This years buying spree will end with this...

a 1:24 Losi SCT

29fwazd.png

its funny its supports 3s, not Tamiya related but brushlessss

Also maintaining of the 1:24 Losi is a topic, since it arrives with a nimh battery, I think at least... only 1 bat arrives, it holds up to 5-20 minutes depending on driving style I heard. So I would have two, nimh and lipo or either 2 lipos. Also truggy tires to get that extra kph.

and tried the gpm hex adapters on my F104 just to see the issue there, and I see, the rims need redrilling and it works hopefully?

for the f104gt mini, not this f1.

It was a nice day out for a drive so took the Javelin out to a new spot only 5 minutes from home.

But taking pictures while driving since upgrading to Brushless & Lipo proved to be a bit of a challenge at first

But once I'd recalibrated myself I managed to get some better shots. Really enjoyed the Javelin :)

Continuing to downsize my collection (very painful and very hard to pick the RC's to cull☹)but needs must because I'm changing my direction on what my collection is going to look like! Less of any random more of a theme space is dictating I'm afraid🤔!

So agreed a price on my spare Lunchbox last night and some bits and pieces to go with it.

Once paid for that is the last model to be sold and that leaves me 6 that won’t be going anywhere.

I’ll sweep through the spares and sell off any excess as and when I get to them.

Once the new year  arrives I hope to pick up our other LB and put some finishing touches to it.

I've discovered that 15 minutes in a bath of vinegar (with a dash of lemon juice) strips the black coating from a pair of Super Hotshot lower, front shock brackets.

Oops:(

I have finally found a good solution to the tearing tape/battery ejection issues that my TRF can have.

As with most high-end TCs, the TRF419's battery retention system consists of two servo posts and a bit of tape. It's super-lightweight, but it only sorta-kinda-mostly works. Plus, every time you change the battery you have to mess about with tape which, over time, will tear the labels off of your batteries.

A while ago I read about Bezerk RC. They make CF battery tongs for all sorts of TCs, but no TRF419s. I sent him an email and some measurements, and a few weeks later we have this:

The entire kit consists of two tongues, two levers, and the posts. You provide 6 screws and two locknuts.

Very very happy with this.

Finished sorting the electrics on the DN01. The trackstar sensor less ESC gave up at the last track day and the 27mhz Rx developed an intermittent fault. Swapped the 13.5t Speed Passion sensored motor in from the DT03 and the BL120 hobby wing ESC out of the DB01R. Added a new 40mhz Rx and 28/72 gearing to drop the FDR to a little under 7 for the 13.5 motor. Hopefully give it a spin tomorrow and see if all this works in practice. Worked on the bench.

Washed all the parts for my Top-Force runner and started to assamble it. Quite allot of parts I needed to replace due to cracks in the plastic.

This is how far I got today.

I replaced the Futaba 3003 servo in my M-05 with a Savox and gave it a test in the garage.  Way faster steering response than the cheap Futaba, almost night and day.

Can someone provide a safehouse hideout adress in advance, for when my wife finds out?

Artist impression of wife finding out what I've done:

Got a bit bored so started messing about with a couple of spare WR02/WR02C chassis I have laying around, experimenting with swapping arms & wheels for different track combinations.

Also off the back of halloween I started to make a 'Dead willy' for one of the builds. I've had a few heads from Headhunter studios sat in a box for months so it was about time I started building the figure I wanted them to sit on - A few old Willy driver parts a cheap skeleton figure & I'm on my way, after a bit of cutting/heating/bending I just need to do a bit of work on the shoulder joint & shorts & then I can start painting :)

After the speed run I did with my losi, I started making a small jump ramp out of the box it came with. First impressions are  great, just what I wanted, to jump on furniture. :)

i did the same with my original top-force a few months back and ended up swoping the both gearboxs the uprights and the suspension arms all round due to cracks. i then managed to get a new carbon upper and lower decks and the suspension towers really cheap so i changed them also and i decided to leave it at that then packed it away in the loft

Great result today. Its been hard to find the right sized aluminium for the yacht build. Hardware and hobby stores don't stock it in the right lengths or thicknesses so rang a couple of aluminium suppliers. Found one that had the exact aluminium bar for the keel and a bit too thick but fine mast. Only downside is I now have 2.5m of each, but it cost less than getting anything close from the hardware store. Guess I have to build more boats.

Also started on the hull fairing. Thats a fancy term for basically using bog and sanding it.

Bought a very expensive nip yellow flourcent ta01 chassis.

This will be used to make an all yellow Ta01 chassis, which I use on on my BMW Jägermaisert. Would have been cool to have alle parts in orange, but I haven't seen any other orange parts than the tub.
