Tore up the yard with the $40 Dagger:

It's currently 2WD, running a Venom Fireball 17t motor. It needs a stronger steering servo, and I'm considering going EZRun with it. :D

Fantastic day on the Gold Coast in Australia (cant believe its winter I wore shorts and a T-Shirt) so I took the C11 out for a spin, may need to get some traction compound :P

Did some bodywork on my cars!

Both Super Champ bodies where broken. One with broken rollbar other with broken rear wing.

Also bodywork on my Buggy Champ as it hit a rock the otherday.

The Twinset Chassie is bended, and the body splitted in half almost...

So, What have you done today?

Mounted a brushless system to my Blackfoot extreme B) Wow now that car is pretty fast!!

also i had to make a new rear bodymount to replace Tamiyas comedy piece of s**t mount, now it should take a bit more abuse :P

i installed the electrics in a ff02 i got for free.

ezrun 9t & 35amp esc. it should fly.

i also picked up a novak ballistic 8.5t bl motor for my b4, not sure if i'm going to race with this motor but i had a gift card to the lhs and had to buy something.

so what have you done today?

Corrected it for ya mate, (just thinking of the poor tyres )

I'm going to paint my resin shell for my brat

lol, i did give the tires a proper thrashing last night.

the car is fast, on the edge for being too fast.

the neighbors dog ran herself ragged chasing it. she did finally catch it and gave it a few battle scars.

the 9t is much more drivable in this car than the mo3.

today i pulled the buy it now trigger on a very clean vintage 5 link jrx2 buggy.

i broke a ball stud on my rc10b4, the novak ballistic 8.5t is just that...ballistic!

i think i flipped my ff02 20 times (one long cart wheel) it didn't break anything though. tough little car!

Lowered the front on my BB, so I can go round cars without flipping.:D I also re cailbrated the steering on it as the little plastic bit on the servo broke. After that I took it for a spin in the garden on the wet grass. :)

Went out and took tones of photos on my Original Untouched Rough Rider and my Shelf Super Champ for the TC competition...

Havn't decided yet of witch photo I'll choose...

After my Falcon broke it's nose and I had a devil of a job finding replacement bits, I've given it a nose job and replaced it with Bear Hawk parts.

Am hoping to get a run on Sunday to see how it performs with it's new front end.

Have you looked at the metal brace you can buy for the front? just search for tamiya falcon brace on ebay, supposed to help a lot with frontal impacts and <£10 delivered IIRC

Also any pics of the chassis with the new parts fitted?

I went to a model train show today. I got home to find a card left by the EMS courier saying that my EMS parcel could not be delivered as there was no one home. Angry, as Australia post doesn't deliver on weekends (I now know that EMS does). I'll have to wait until Monday to pick up my 2 SS body kits and diffs.

Got my BigWig up and running last night (whoop whoop) with the 8.4 v 1700mAh Sanyo stick that I've had for years. I think I need to retire my old Tamiya 8.4v Gold 1200 as that just doesn't cut it anymore and I'll be on the lookout for some higher mAh 8.4v.

Also need to strip my Technigold and give it a good cleaning.

Made up some metal top wishbones and strengthing bars for my Blitzer Beetle. But I ran out of rod ends and ball connectors so I had to stop:D I broke the collar part on my dremal

The DT02 turnbuckle kits fits the Blitzer chassis perfect. Like it was made for it.

I just brought some m3 threaded bar from ebay. Where the top wish bone goes I used some rod rod ends on each end and put a ball connector where the screw would normaly go. The beauty of doing this is you can get the camber just right. Also I think it looks better. I put the strenghting bars where the shell mounts are. To get them to fit you need to use longer screws. On the rear the bar protects my speed controler.

In theory your M3 rod for upper links gives infinite settings. In practice is doesn't. You are limited to a 1/2 turn of the ball cup (rod end) on each end of the threaded rod. You need to remove one end of the link to adjust length. Your adjustments are in 0.375mm amounts (1/2 turn of a ball cup - 0.75mm increments if you use modern ball cups that need a full turn). There is a reason why turnbuckles are on all the top end cars, and are an upgrade to a threaded rod. Example: DF03 Dark Impact with it's kit supplied threaded rod upper links and then the turnbuckle upgrade (standard on a DF03MS). It is better than a solid upper link, but why do a backyard job when the correct parts is readily available and quite cheap.

A turnbuckle has a left hand thread on one end, and a right hand thread on the other end, with a hex in the middle so you can turn the rod while it is fitted to the vehicle with an adjusting spanner (supplied in the turnbuckle kit). When you turn the rod with the supplied tool it will either lengthen or shorten the link depending on which way you turn the shaft. You do not need to remove one end of the link to adjust. Adjustments are truly infinite.

With the DT02 turnbuckle kit it also supplies all the needed mounting hardware (ball screws, ball nuts, screws, ball cups) so that you can fit it to just about any 2WD Tamiya buggy that has solid upper link or threaded rod upper links.

i've been on a serious racing kick lately.

i won the amain for shortcourse trucks with my b4 buggy this past saturday. hardly any buggies show up at this particular track so they put me with the sc trucks.

i actually ran poorly due to a new track surface, but the tq (who was beating me by 3 laps all day except for the main) broke and i battled with the second place guy who crashed on the last lap.

i found another semi local track that has buggy classes, indoor hardpack clay. so i ordered a bunch of stuff to get the car ready for that:

b4 composite chassis (i'm running the longer t4 chassis right now)

b44 rear hub/bearing carriers (b44 uses a larger outter bearing that holds up under mod bl power better)

rear hub bearings

set of front and rear b4 wheels

new b4 wing mount (only way to get the wing shims)

associated ball stud washers

enough of the modern stuff, here's what's going on with my vintage racers:

ordered .125 wheel spacers from custom works so i can run b4 wheels on my jrx2. (b4 offset is way too deep)

ordered xerun 80 amp esc for the jrx2.

picked up a really nice re-pro jrx2 body/wing and gear cover set

ordered an nice used graphite chassis for my original rc10, this project got put on the back burner due to the jrx2 purchase.

sorry i have nothing going on that involves tamiya right now. i would have bought a trf201 but i got the b4 for a song.

i'd love to race a dyna storm at the offroad vintage nationals but they are just too much $$.

i did run my clod last night until it started to rain.

That's a fantastic looking Willy you have there :)

As for me, I just had a few things left to sort out for the bash at Snetterton on Sunday/Monday ... it really shouldn't have taken all day, but it has - I keep getting distracted :)
