anything Tamiya related I have been doing this week was driving... as usual, 2-3 drives cant go without some damage, my TA05IFS has eaten a driveshaft plastic cup thing as the front diff went loose and the driveshaft (dogbone) fall out... tighten it, now the front tires grip as they should...I used the O-rings and urethane sponges for the front left drive shaft until new plastic clips arrive.

My F103, has worn of its front left tire before all others...now I have a spare Pit shimizu soft slick mounted on a white rim, I am thinking to fit until the other side wears off as new Tamiya Soft F104 slicks arrived for the F103 last week.

Yesterday I broke the front right upright on my M03, this is the 3rd time, the first two times I glued it back together, but now it is further and further towards the front of the vehicle, and gues what, after extending the ride hight to its maximum, I orderd M05RA upright set for the M03, I will update my build thread about the Fabia M03 as soon as I fit the parts and take some pictures. :)

on the other hand, I have been also doing a lot of non tamiya related stuff. For example, I made myself learn, how theoretically a drone works and how to fly it, also what to buy and not... most of youtubers say to start of with mini indoor drones... I had my eyes on the xk x130t RTR mini quadcopter or shoulde I say FPV race drone, 4 tiny 6mm brushed motors make that thing fly really nice. But it is discontinued... it does look that a lot of request were made, on gearbest over 40 backorder request... I went for the Eachine e013 without FPV headset. while a ZMR250 ''racing drone'' project was started and ordert... RTR without FPV gear... I am looking now at about 140$, the reason why I didnt go with camera was that I am a total noob at this.

But I hope this will be great and give me some nice guidlines for 2019! :) ''Airbashing''

this video is great. ''walk the dog'', he says it takes about a year to get comfortable... now that is good invested money I hope.

as if what I did today... I installed one of the fluorine coated ball connectors on my slidology servo horn, a trackstar nylon d303 servo with matching yeah racing servo mounts is waiting for the next parcel from HK, a trackstar 4.5T mod motor, HK x-car 120A esc, usb connection for firmware and programming. Hobbywing usb link software installed on the laptop also during last week. I am ready to install the electronics in my Xray T1FK05 touring car, it will be most of the time on the shelf... and when its not, I hope not to break it. :)

Flying FPV is absolutely amazing. There is no other experience like it in the world. Literally tricks your brain into thinking that you, as a person are flying. I've been into cars for 30+ years but ever since I started flying FPV quads a couple years ago, I fly WAY more than all the driving I do (and I still drive and play with my cars a lot). Have fun learning to fly. Don't get discouraged, it does have a somewhat steep learning curve, but there are steps you hit in the progression of learning that will keep you coming back for more. Here's a flight from 2 days ago.  And to everyone else, sorry, I just get very excited when someone wants to start flying FPV.

I never liked drones, and I still am not a fan. but FPV as you said something that may trick your mind, the first time I saw an FPV racing video on TV, I knew at any time of life I will have this. I am not trying to learn it any soon. But I want to achive the bird feeling. :) thank you for support. I cant tell you how thrilled I am about the micro e013 quad, as for the big fpv racer I am looking forward to build a ZMR250 frame.

Today was Tamiya Home Life Hack Day (tm).

I finally mounted the baby gate at the top of the stairs, to stop my son falling down the stairs..... this installation made possible only by using those white plastic bearings (that come in Tamiya kits) as spacers to allow the frame to fit to a timber banister post. (I knew they’d be useful for something one day...!)

Then I eradicated the ‘plastic on plastic’ creaking of the baby gate opening sound effects, by applying some Tamiya grease to the pivot joint.... now it’s super silent!

Thanks Tamiya! Two fixes for one ‘build’!

In light of this, it’d be rude not to fit a Tamiya logo sticker or two to the baby gate... :)

That reminded me that i grew up with B and B and with the famous Ray Cokes and Most Wanted 😁. Anybody knows what he is doing today?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Cokes  looks like after 2014 when he released his auto-biography he hasn't done much, being 60 now he's probably relaxing

Unpacked and admired my Sand Scorcher properly 😊

The front end changes are the dogs do da’s and I can’t wait to give her a test drive.

The pile of parts to the left are for the bin and to the right are going to be kept.

So I decided to put on new tires on the F103. Instead the pit shimizu front spare. The only thing I couldnt stand is that the rim was white. But I had some revell model paint Bronze.

good enough.

Working on the Bullhead's axels.

To finish for now, I need the 10mm aluminium bar I bought, but can't seem to find.

And to test the dual motor drive, I need the receiver I know I have somewhere, but can't seem to find.

Its just one of those days..... <_<

At least I got this far, the steering modifications are 3D printed, and the chassis paint turned out OK. :)

I finally finished my SCT body today. Hardest body I have done. The sheer size, some small parts to paint as well, allied to poor weather and my first attempts at both masked stripes and three colours led to it taking absolutely ages. It's a Proline F150 Raptor Flotek body on a Turnigy 2wd short course truck. Whilst it's not anywhere near on a par with what a lot of people on here seem to be able to do, I am very happy with.

For those of you with a Turnigy SCT and looking at this body, it doesn't sit perfectly on the wheels - the fronts seem a little far forward but due to the 25 deg kick up they sit in under compression. I used the Ultima SC holes marked in the body (this is what the Turnigy truck is based on) and they were pretty much bang on. I would maybe place the rear holes a little more towards the rear of the truck if I was to do this again. To get it to fit I have had to flip the bumpers at both ends so they sit inside the truck body. They don't fit any other way I could work out.

Tomorrow I will take my new dremel and carve out some of the air slots to stop it parachuting.

this is really nice, I like silver and think it is a very thankful color. I would like to see it in action :)

Thanks man!  I will run this one on my garage track this winter.  I kept the drive shaft out of it so it's rwd.

Got the first half of my txt-2 time lapse build (just a roller at this point) recorded and downloading. Also, swapped the wheels the right way around (cause the front and back of the truck are nearly identical).

That looks grand to me. The flames give it just the right amount of attitude IMO. You're gonna have some fun with that.

Having got the main Blackfoot chassis together last weekend while on a short weekend break and not wanting to open to many packets and loosing bits. Last night I unsuccessfully tried binding a Futaba 203 Rx to the 3PV via the TBLE 02 ESC. Green flashing light on the ESC, nothing on the Rx. Hmmmm.

So sleeping on it I decided to just hook up the BF's servo via my SRB's Rx just so I could make sure it was centred to at least get the tie rods on, which has worked a treat. Hearing about the bump steer issues of the BF, I've gone with putting the ball connectors under the servo saver for now trimming a bit off the plastic, so the tie rods don't foul the chassis rails, adding a nut to the protruding ball connector thread . It hasn't completely eliminated the bump steer but has greatly reduced it.

I was intending to centre the servo mounting in the chassis at some stage and then probably add some AmPro steering knuckles. Job for another day, as they say. going to see how the BF goes before throw to much cash into it.

Well that was before the shock tower was installed. Now it seems that there is going to be naff all bump steer, pushing the uprights up and down through the full suspension travel 😁

I’m sure there was a YouTube clip I saw on this. Works a well it would seem.

Off for a Nanna nap now before night shift.

I had a problem with this too, from memory you need to switch mode or a setting on the tx. It defaults to the setting for the 304 rx which is T FHSS and the 203 is regular FHSS, or something. I'm not home for another week so can't check atm but check that out. I do it everytime on my Sanwa gear too, FH3 v fH4 etc. The dumb thing is that I can't tell the difference between FH4 / T-FHSS which are the super fast ones and the old/slower ones anyway.

That is awesome, winning the truck (even if its not Tamiya 🤔) is a great result. Is that the national champs or something? Forgive the ignorance...

I was there yesterday too. Took my boys so they could see some racing.

Unfortunately due to crowds and the advertising banners around the track they couldn't see much at all.

It's a one off race event held for the last 2 year's, in a shopping centre (Mall?) ,run by a local Silverstone club (where the hold the full scale British F1 GP) and Schumacher racing. It's actually like a little RC festival, RC stalls, have a go track for the public, raffles / competitions etc, even the local drag strip (Santa Pod - best in the UK/Europe) have sent a static Tip Fueller (and sponsored the event too).

Couple of top drivers -

Streamed live on YouTube, if anyone wants to catch up with the racing -

Aww mate, would have caught up for a blether! (Although spent most of the afternoon rebuilding a B64, and cutting/filing the front wheel nuts, as it didn't fit in the box at scrutineering!)

Couple of people where sitting in the cafe on the first floor of John Lewis, looks right over the track (see the chairs and tables above Trish's head in the pic)

Yeah I said to my other half that the JL cafe would be ideal. But of all the times I've been in that JL I've never actually found that cafe :)

It is a good idea for a venue though but it isn't the ideal setup for spectators. It might be better if they moved the pit area and trade stalls to the quiet areas at the sides of JL. Then they could have spectator viewing on 3 sides and a bit more pitting space.
