It might be better if they moved the pit area and trade stalls to the quiet areas at the sides of JL.

That would be a nightmare for all the racers to get to and from the track etc.

Moving the banners away from the railings to under the rostrum might work, although it only gets busy from around 10am, still fairly quiet spectator wise, atm.

It's a one off race event held for the last 2 year's, in a shopping centre (Mall?) ,run by a local Silverstone club (where the hold the full scale British F1 GP) and Schumacher racing. It's actually like a little RC festival, RC stalls, have a go track for the public, raffles / competitions etc, even the local drag strip (Santa Pod - best in the UK/Europe) have sent a static Tip Fueller (and sponsored the event too).

Couple of top drivers -

2019-01-13_07-13-53

Streamed live on YouTube, if anyone wants to catch up with the racing -

I took a drive over to the centre mk yesterday (Saturday) and it was a good bit of racing but that was it really😔! one stall (I'll spare the name)  and the BRCA was in attendance I tried to buy a brushless combo for my schumacher cat but that one stall only had massively expensive rc equipment and he looked as if he didn't want to be their! I thought schumacher would have more than just the banners everywhere and other rc manufacturers(missed opportunity for them really🤦‍♂️) all the really interesting stuff was behind closed gates to the public🤔 a bit disappointing really especially because it took me a while to get to milton Keynes and I got stuck on the M1 because of an accident! Suppose just don't believe the hype is the moral to that but like I say the racing was good👍

Primed and painted more bullhead plastic suspension parts.

This did not work out as expected. The surface is 'stained', possible because of the high air humidity from the rain we've had all night.

Just leave as-is for now, and consider it a base coat.  Try again later this week.

To soften the damage, ordered 8 oil-shocks.

Got a plug soldered onto the esc and finally gave my Turnigy short course truck its inaugural spin. Spin being the operative word! I can see where the fun lies, but they aren't exactly precision driving devices are they?!! Feels like i need a lot more space than my street for something that big and wallowy. Can see it being a lot of fun on rough ground. Had to come in almost immediately to glue the rear tyres on after rolling them off the rims. Other than that, much fun.

Fitted the rear shocks to my lunchbox then realized i had bent one of the rear springs that hold tension to the front of the diff...lol i went and ordered the AMPRO trans brace. So i then fitted the TRF springs to my rally beetle only to find out we had ordered the ones for the XV-01 chassis and not the MF01X, they work but now i need to get some longer ball studs for the back until my YR suspension kit comes in AND this kit only comes with the white springs so no options out of the box. Will it be ok running the rears on the original screws till i get new ball ends or should i hold off?

Thats a pretty cool looking kit, will you build it? There is a RS1800 kit by Italeri out now that I have, which will be good detail for the Mk II Escort body whenever I can finish it.

I managed to pick up one of those minus the box a year or so ago, they are getting pretty rare to find.

a shame about the damaged, is that a 1/16th scale or something? I seem to remember having a rally version as a kid (actually I think it was my brothers).

Not too sure , it says Bandai ( Made in Japan ) . I can remember this in red with a black stripe and i have pic of that . But i don't

see any red or black at all . As i had painted it that colour , so you would think there would be paint on the inside etc !.

Will never build the plastic models . The RS1800 has clear body , so you can see everything in side . Looks

great . I may have too look for the one you have said above .

I'm almost thinking i had two of these and this a parts one . But i'm not to sure on that . Getting old

and not remembering things are a pain .

Got some prototype enclosed battery holders for my Thunder Dragon from a vendor on treatstock. Bit rough but seem ok. Fit together fine. Hopefully it holds up as i would really like my battery better protected

After purchasing a Xray T1FK05 touring car chassis on a bargain sale last summer. It finally is time to put that chassis to a proper runner status.

Probably overpowerd for it's age, but the electronics were cheap, the car even cheaper so why not, after this I'll jump to a FPV drone build, and I'll keep maintining my Tamiya fleet for now as I like them how they are, but as usual thins tend to brake.

Let's hope this chassis stays ok for at least some time :) What I did today...

Fitted the servo, and centerd the servo horn, the sponge is there to calm any vibrations from the chassis to the servo.

308gr9h.jpg

2w2o2ag.jpg

fitted the reciever and antenna mount, installed a glitch buster and modified the battery holders a bit. threw the ghetto lexan holder in the trash, just a strap and plastic holders that stick to the battery.

Pinions arrived today, servo arrived a week earlier, so I started preping it as a HobbyKing X-Car 120A esc & Trackstar 4.5T 6580kV modified motor.

I decided to go with the X-Car esc, as it is cheaper then the Tackstar 120A esc, and does take 3s, so it could be good for all sorts of things, I also took the usb program cabel, the hobbywing usb link v3.2 is installed already last week, very nice programe I must admit.

as last night was not enough... thiswasoneof the better mornings in 2019

mail man brought the motor and esc with usb link from HK

282kg1c.jpg

wcd6va.jpg

finally the 90mm short sensor cable I bought last summer paid off. I turnedthe motor this direction intended so that the 4.5T Modified lettering can be easy read. :)

I like how trackstar provides a cap to secure the connections of the cables with the motor. (I got this one with my 13,5T stock motor, with the modified one there wasnt a cap or neither rubber sealing for dual sensor port.

2ykffap.jpg

shoudld have shortened the wires of theesc to motor. maybe some other day. cant wait to test it, battery is charging :)

before any driving, I will flash a blinky software onto the X-Car esc with the usb link interface, 18T 48P pinion it is now, I also have a 14T and 22T pinion.

So the blinky 508 sofware is installed, And I went for the 14T pinion instead. Nice smooth acceleration, and good high speed, it revs a lot, it goes a lot and this chassis I got setup like this, grips amazingly in corners. On high speeds it feels a bit unstable, no sway bar yet.My thoughts are now to ordera 12T 48P pinion or close to that, to use 7,95 FDR instead of 6,92 now.

But for any kind of bashing with my co-drivers... amazing. I like the feel of how sensible this 4.5T is compared to a stock 13,5T in a F1. I would say, pretty close but more stable in a touring car.I need to get a 10,5T for my TA05IFS, maybe a trackstar 10,5 or so...and try to adjust boost and timing, also the 13,5T F103 now with 2,28 fdr could use some Turbo setings.

just hear the sound :) I will rebuild the diffs and probably buy the carbon motor guard.

Ran my sct properly for the first time. Its a lot of fun, but it was tipping over and grip rolling quite easily. I tweaked the rear suspension to raise the roll centre, and fashioned a front anti roll bar out of the spare stiff bar from the DT03 set i have. Looking forward to seeing how it runs

Today i replaced all Tamiya connectors with SY60. I have 6 charger channels with XT60 connectors and I just don’t want to fiddle with adapters. Besides the Tamiya ones seems a bit outdated, and I just don’t like them.

Played around with the Defender again today.  I hate to admit but I guess I do like a Traxxas product after all.  I'm still going to repaint it green with a white roof though, on the outside of the body so it gets more of a matte finish.

Not seen one in real life yet, but those TRX4 do look amazing. That Bronco presses all my vintage Ford buttons!

Put my tools in my new ‘really useful’ tool box so that I can keep parts / miscellany separate.

Audited my M04 spares stash ahead of some chassis building in the Spring. Or even next month if I get a wiggle on.

Have nearly enough for two builds, the only real issue being the dreaded E sprue.

Do these replicate the M04 posts?

Though that still leaves me without E1, 2 and 3!

Chuffed as a maggot today receiving an email congratulating me on a 3rd place win for the 2CV in the Christmas boxes Comp :D. Congratulations also to @scollins for 1st & @acprc for 2nd.

Just like to say a big thanks to all who voted for me it is very much appreciated ;). Greatly looking forward to an M chassis joining the collection as I've never had one before.

The 2CV has an uncanny resemblance to a VW Bug my Father and I restored and also took part in the 1999 London to Brighton VW run with.

Thanks again Folks B)

TT-01 and M-04 body posts are not cross compatible unfortunately. Apart from the posts being different shapes, they also have different mounting genders. The TT-01 posts are male, the M-04 posts are female.

If you want to use posts from another model, the M-05 posts on sprue 51391 will fit.

Brilliant, thank you.

I think I have one set of front posts on a spare M04 front end but I definitely need another full set.
