A clean-looking example! I hope it sells, too :)

I am not selling anything at the moment, but uncovered some intact decal sets that might be of interest to other TamiyaClub members... The uncovering happened while I was clearing out/reorganizing a shelf for upcoming projects. This meant putting my on-road cars in long-term storage, as they are the least likely to run until the snow melts.

In the quest for storage space, I turned to old kit boxes. My Loctite Zexel GT-R box (and one of the models I am packing up) held a whole collection of wheels and tires I had almost completely forgotten about:

16acriq.jpg

I had forgotten about a few - it turns out I still have a brand-new set of Lancia Rally/Audi Quattro/Opel Ascona tires! No complete set of Lancia Rally wheels, though, so I am sticking with my jury-rigged front uprights. The abundance of Audi Quattro/Opel Ascona wheels and tires is still nice to have, since I can swap them back onto the chassis I have without issues.

There are now four cars on shelves - the Lancia shelf is intact but still in dire need of sorting:

The top shelf has now turned into a dedicated supply shelf, where I will keep paints, finishing materials, electronics, and styrene stock:

I do not see it remaining this way for long, though...

KBF

I succame to temptation and bought an immaculate new built Super Blackfoot & then couldn’t resist a mint King Blackfoot, also undriven, and even better the seller threw in so much stuff I had to refuse a bunch of it! Happy day.

I'm going to use this as a "loaner" car for the M-class racing club I've started at the elementary schools where I teach.

Firstly, Have you got room for a ‘mature’ student in your class?

And what Battery pack would you have hidden in there??

Cheers @Re-Bugged

just gave the shell a shower to get the dust off & noticed it has headlights that’ll take a bullb. Nice touch.

Did install fron shocks.

they are Yokomo BD5, bought them cheap as obe shaft was broken. Same diameter and size... as tamiya CVA shafts. So yesterday I opened and rebuild all 4y but havent got screws for rear... will solve that hopefully today.

Re-evaluated my future project plans in light of the recently announced closure of the Unit 21 track in Sleaford where I have been having so much fun lately with my F103, TB03 and M-class cars.

Perhaps it is time that I build something vaguely competitive for offroad use and explore my options at Robin Hood Raceway?

Thats a real shame, is there anywhere reasonably close to run your onroad cars?

You should definitely build some offroad cars too, its a shame ThunderDragonCy has already sold his DB01R, that would have been ideal

RHR is a great track to run on, but they don't hold that many races there. I go the the Tamiya Junkies track days which are informal track running for anything 10th scale and they are every 4-6 weeks. Lots of fun but no racing. Your best best relatively local would be the Workshop Indoor Series if you want to race. I think it's called the Schumacher Indoor Cup or something. They race in a sports hall every couple of weeks and the track looks incredible. It's offroad though, so you'd need a 2wd or 4wd mod class level buggy to have a go. It's control spec tyres so that takes some of the guesswork out.

This is them: https://www.facebook.com/WorksopRadioCarClub/

There's a couple of guys in the US on TRF Off Road on Facebook who have good value TRF211s for sale right now if you want to keep it Tamiya.

Very nice. i ran a 19X1 in my KBF when it first came out, ended up ripping the rear bumper off from the wheelies. Then bought it all back to life with a 4000kV brushless setup. so much fun!!!!! Had to rig a wheelie bar off a Pumpkin I think to try and stop it from flipping.

Somewhere I have a NIB body and sticker set

Now we're done!

Really sings with the Super Stock RZ. She's done for the most part. I'm tempted to get the shapeways engine and exhaust for it, later down the road.

Really nice to have a Wild One runner and be able to keep my restored vintage one on the shelf.

Off work to look after one of my boys who is a bit under the weather.

To help occupy him I enlisted his help to swap the tyres on my RC10. Swapping Schumacher Cut Staggers and Blocks for Proline 4 Ribs and Bowties.

The foams the Prolines come with seem massive and barely fit inside the tyres. But with some squishing they went in.

The tyres would really need to be glued for running, but for now they can stay unglued.

Been off work with man flu today, still managed to box up and ship an F150 Ranger I’d recently sold, which inspired me to look through the spares boxes & see what I could make.

46285435474_f9f4eb1445_b.jpg

Finally settled on a couple of chassis that I liked the look of, though I’m not sure if the black chassis would look better with polished suspension arms, or black (like on the front)?

46285435464_2a1b683abe_b.jpg

Both are built from MK2 vintage parts but I’ve got enough MK1 & MK2 resto projects on the go, so these will just be about seeing what can be built for fun!

I noticed that with a pair I bought recently, too. They make the tyres so big around the circumference that they must have a noticeable effect on FDR.

Got my Super Blackfoot our the back of the car & on the shelf where it will reside. Fitted a sport tuned to the BD 😃

Sport Tuned

Took my it to the local skate park, again. it’s dark in the evening this time of year so I put a red led on the back and 2 white on the front. Of course it really helped & the rain made it fun. I had the place to myself. I got a bit carried away & the serious air resulted in breakages. Ordered some of this:

BD rear body mountCenter servo

and did this

Metal Hex adapters

dont think that glue is going to cut the mustard.

Finishing off getting the industrial strength ear wax off of the gearbox and gears of my recently purchased Kyosho Big Brute.

Almost done now with my usual ultrasonic cleaner + flash liquid combo but it's taken longer to break down than any other grease I've come across. I'm sure 80's kids used to raid this stuff from their dads garage/shed. Probably in a rusty old tin with no markings that the father inherited from HIS father who told him they used to use it on spitfires.

New or resto? Which shell is it going to wear?

It is all new. Well, all but the sprues you can’t get any more - body posts, bumper mounts and chassis brace which I have pinched from a spare old front end.

A few option parts - carbon gear shafts, ball diff, heat sink, oil shocks.

Giulia shell.

Well it's going good so far.

Managed to get permanently suspended from YouTube for "serious" violations of community guidelines related to spam, scamming or commercially deceptive content.

They won't specify what particular video they are referring to or what is wrong with it. I am absolutely clueless to what it could have possibly been and even more clueless that there was anything there that a human could have investigated and genuinely believed to be a violation.

I have sent an appeal but worst case, I could remain banned forever and not be able to make a new account either.

A major blow for me if I can't get it back, I don't make any money from it but I really enjoy making and sharing videos and YouTube just has such a big user base that you have the best chance of reaching people who would want to see your videos there.

Apart from that, my day is going ok! I'm in work now but managed to finish off my Kyosho Big Brute gearbox before I set off. Cleaned, re-greased and reassembled.

The YouTube thing kind of took the joy out of that though, if I'm honest.

Inspired by the 'trf' Stadium Blitzer I've seen on here I went about mangling a spare tub chassis (has a crack in it) to make it a bit sleeker. My partner has slowly been showing me how Instagram works and of course I've found it useful for pictures of cool cars!  Loving the slammed look some people have on their stadium trucks so I thought I'd give it a go with my spares.

AgMqyac.jpg

Whilst on my ABS massacre I chopped out enough to seat the battery length ways. Hoping this helps keep the weight low and along the length of the lowered car

zcDWLps.jpg

I also added a titanium plate to the base to help keep the strength up.... And also with hopes that it will make some sparks on the ground! Bending G5 titanium is a bit of a pig.

I was meant to be working this evening but I arrived only to be told that I wasn’t required. So I headed home and decided to give my M03 Mini a look over.

This was a Facebook purchase that a family member collected for me but it took a few months before it made its way to me. It was nice and cheap so I was happy to wait for it :)

I decided to remove all the old electrics and I’ll eventually fit some digital stuff instead. I’ve also got a new set of aluminium M Chassis dampers sitting here which will end up on this I’d imagine.

Wanted to 3D print a shock tower for the Dual Hunter.

But the printer head jammed, so I had to dissasemble, clean, and rebuild.

Then the extruder slipped, so I had to dissasemble, clean, regrease and rebuild.

Then the fillement gave trouble, so I swapped it and it still would not go right.

Then I pulled a wire on the head temperature sensor, to see if a loose contact caused temperure regulation problems.... and the wire came clean off with no force. So problem found....!

Just one of those days I guess......... <_<
