Unpacked my latest eBay purchase; blitzer beetle restoration project. Shell crushed so it's more like a convertible, but the chassis looks to be in pretty good nick, should keep me away from Tonys tamiya parts store lol!. Came with a quick charger which plugs into the 12v ciggy lighter socket in your car; after 30s the charger was smoking so that will be going in the bin.

Restoration projects on hold pending parts arrival, so got on with ordering more !!

Blitzer Beetle Body

Blitzer Beetle Window parts

Blitzer Beetle nose cone Q parts

Mtroniks Viper Auto Sport Tuned 20T ESC

Acoms 27MHz receiver

Crystal set

Fighter Buggy motor plate

Another £85 gone ;)

Then totted up what i've spent in parts for the Fighter Buggy - currently stands at £70, without esc or motoe - not good when a new fighter buggy can be had with esc and motor for £64, although the rebuild experience is teeaching me the ways of Tamiya and creating a box of spare bits that will no doubt come in handy at some point.

Still need to buy the Manta Ray shell too.

Oh well, it beats doing some work lol!!

Started on a AX10 reboot last night, and will continue tonight.

So far I've changed back from 1.9 wheels and tyres back the stock AX10 wheels and 2.2 flat irons, along with replacing the stock coil overs from the shorter 100mm big bore ones. Also removed the rear bed of the Hilux body. Am looking at the best way of fitting a flat metal bed and rear roll cage to the existing X-Trail chassis. Will be looking for more 1:1 pictures for exactly how it looks. Do the rear shocks stick up at out beyond the bed, or do they stay tucked away? Further investigation required!

Tried my first LiPo battery in my TB01 Focus today, OH MY GOD!!!!!!! I know what I want for christmas now, POWER!!!!!

I really can't believe the difference, more punch, lasts longer, and the battery doesn't get hot when I run it, helps to keep the temp down under my inner cover.

All I need to do now is clean off all of the sand and astroturf fibres from inside my shell, what a mess, but I love it.

last night i took my clod off the shelf (storage shelf, not display! lol).

i had robbed the receiver out of it for a rc10t project i'm working on. i put the reciever back in and plan on bringing the clod to work tomorrow.

i want some friends to see it before i start modding it.

now i'm just waiting on a gift card that i got through work to show up so i can order the c.p.e. terminator chassis kit.

i never installed the chrome on the hard body, never painted it either. i may toss the chrome on there tonight so the clod's a little more presentable.

Nice Bruiser Mate!

Thanksgiving here, worked for a half day, and now time for some grub!

UPDATE: On the way to the meal, saw a guy enjoying driving his Frog around.

Since we had the first snow here, I decided to leave a little later. When my wife had left for work, I went down into the basement and worked on my 908/03 engine detailing. (fuel lines, double ignition, air intakes etc....)

Pics will come later:-)

Here at work I had to wait for the next meeting and snapped a good looking Kyosho Gallop off ebay for 138EUR.

Not a bad day despite my headache this morning:-)

Impulsively bought a RTR CC-01 Pajero because I'm sick of building things for the time being and just want to shut my brain off and drive something. Also, Christmas.

Installed and tested a Reedy Micro 8000kv brushless system in my Tamtech Hornet!

Fast enough to be awesome, but not out of control to destroy gearboxes (I hope!)

Cheers,

Skottoman

Spent my lunchbreak in the local model shop...

Numerous Tamiya paint sprays/pots for my Blitzer Beetle resto, and some Fast Finish chameleon jade flip/flop for the Manta Ray resto (although may cop out and do it Tamiya Gun Metal !)

Dared to ask the price of a Rough rider - £266 - no thanks, even if it does come with the limited edition bag.

Completely gave up on my Tyco Project and built the bits back into an M03 Swift....leaving me with enough left over to make 2 TA01/2 rollers.
