Painted my new Clod body with primer yesterday! But the can just stoped in the middle of painting

Just no air at all, the can is heavy so it contains paint but no air...

So I put on the first coat of light metallic blue this morning, hopefully it turns out good...

So, What have you done today?

Ordered some new parts for the Clod project (thanks Fusion and Europro)

Stripped one Clod gearbox and axle to component parts, another to do tonight.

Bought some degreaser for the stripdown of the two clod gearboxes.

Bought some plastic primer for hotshot wheel refurb.

Browsed the Tamiya and Clod forums :):D

I was looking through some old camera memory cards and found lots of photos of my old Avante 2001, made me even more keen to get my hands on the 2011 Avante...

So, what have you done today?

Done more body work on my scalextric limo project. Fill and sanding is is easier than I expected. Tidyed up my work bench. Put all building materials into one box.

What have you done today?

Well given that yesterday I started work on the Monster Hilux, that's given me a AX10 scaler chassis to work with! The Toyota FJ40 shell that I ordered from ModelSport on Thursday arrived yesterday, and I've started work on it. Coming along rather nicely, and is going to have much more scale look than I ever managed with the Yota!

Painted a body, discovered Tamiya metallic red covers really badly (10+ layers and it still sucks), installed a 3Racing Light System in said body, and had some glitching fun when testing things (suspect a dead Y-cable, or the 3Racing system doesn't like my EZ-Run...)

Turned my garage into a paintshop for the day..

1 manta ray sprayed fastrax chameleon jade, backed with fastrax jet black

2 son's Rising Storm fastrax rally blue and tamiya White

3 Hotshot in boxart red

Observations are that the fastrax paints spray much finer but have heaps better coverage, and the rising storm rear wing is a pain in the butt to spray given you have to remove the film to spray that side, and need to mask the exposed side.

Is that Fastrax paint any good? Was looking for some paint for the land cruiser, and came across that, but couldn't find any reviews of it.

My first experience of fastrax and tamiya ps was yesterday!

Fastrax is....

1. 20% cheaper

2. Bigger can

3. Sprays finer and drier

4. Better coverage rate

I was very pleased with the fastrax in use and it's final result, the PS was very second rate in use although the result was fine.

Finally got around to fitting my Novak brushless set up into my TB01, blimey it's quick off the mark now.

Been looking at my clodzilla and working out what I need and what I want it to do, plus sorting out a newly built Dual Hunter for my sons birthday.

Going to spend the evening replacing the bearings in a TA03F 97 Scooby whilst my wife watches Dancing on Ice.

i've been back working in my old job as a Quantity Surveyor, don't think i'll be here for a long time but it's great to be back with all my old workmates

all i've done today is measure up some flats and closes plus play on the web - last night i rebuilt my TL-01's MSC as it stopped working again. after a strip down, sand and clean it still wouldn't work. I tried puting my screwdriver on the bolt that holds it all together and viola! it worked. Loose connection caused by me not tightening the nut enough

Browsed the net for more ideas for project 'Cloider'

Found a set (4) new Traxxas alloy shocks n springs on ebay, so bought those up quick.

Chased amazon for my missing LCD TV

slightly off topic, and not the best pictures but here's my Manta Ray resto, painted with Fastrax Chameleon Jade, and backed with Fastrax Jet Black. Colour changes from bottle green metallic through bronze to a sort of dark gold. Needs natural light to show off the flip at its best, and its a bu66er to photograph !

I'm still off sick so last night I finally got round to sanding down my Buggy Champ's cast parts. That means today I've been able to start priming them so that I can start painting them tomorrow.

I took my Wild Dagger to the frozen lake, trying to fry the silver cans with 11.1V LiPo. No success :-)

I'll spare you for the OBC video

i dropped my girlfriend off at work, went to the scrappy and got a new steelie for her car. took it to have a tyre fitted then headed home to play with the sierra bumper then i fixed the puncture on my BMX and removed the rear brake from it

what have you done today?

i decided to give my re-re frog a second chance. when i built it i used the speed gearing and didn't like it, not to mention that i had forgot how poorly frogs handle.

so i tore down the gearbox, installed the standard gearing and am now in the process of adding shocks to the front end and trying to free up the rear end a bit to get it to react quicker.

we'll see how it goes. if it goes well it may be my entry into the 2011 vintage nationals classics class.

so......

what did you do today?
