Did some more work on the Cloider project..

Remounted the shocks , the Traxxas shocks didn't come with ball joints for the upper mounting points.

Trial fitted the servo behind the front bumper, need a horn that'll take 3mm bolt now.

Dropped the wheels on to assess clearances, think i may get away without axle wideners now ;)

The 550 motor cans don't actually foul on the anti-roll bars now all the shocks are in place :P

Realised the wiring loom of the Traxxas motors and EVX-2 ESC isn't designed for a 15" wheelbase, so i'll be building a loom for one of the motors at least :)

So only a few bolts to swap for the correct length ones, electrics to install, wheels to mount properly on 14mm hex's anda body or two to sort out now !!

 Work work work. It's nice to be working again though! Dreaming about the warmer months as today was unusually warm! THis past weekend, cleaned up my tt-01, and finished a set of LED lights for an r32 drift car I have been working on since last fall. Installed the lights, everything checks out. Looking forward to trying them out at night, hopefully tomorrow after work!

Found some Falcon 'R' parts on eBay!

Woohoo!! My shelf queen build has started!

I also dropped in to see my draughtsman mate today to get plans drawn up for H/D repro 'R' parts.

Ordered 4 wheel hexes for my Clod project - £30

Only consolation is that buying from the US, at $30 a set, would work out the same or more with shipping and duties !

Plus I realised that £30 for 4 hexes is nothing compared to some of the stuff that King Cobra Distribution stock !

Commenced building my Hotshot, & already thinking about my next build, Just love building Tamiya Kits ^_^

**EDIT**...While watching Clarkson and the boys

Just spent the last 4 days ordering stock from all our suppliers (I hate this time of year LOL), one spreadsheet to another then another then another then another its never ending!!,

Also found a new Kyosho supplier with some nice items so im negotiating for those at the moment.

i ordered more parts for my racer frog. it's rediculous how much i'm spending on this stupid car to get it to handle.

but i'm determined to get it to handle and to race it in this years VONATS. darn frog! drives me nuts!

Drove out of my way to take a look at a hobby shop I heard about on the morning radio... and was depressed by the complete absence of Tamiya.

Waterproofed some servos and recievers, Got all the steering done on my ta01. Put some bracing inside my scalextric shell, to stop the window frames cracking.

What have you done today?

Should be ordering some parts for my RC10T (rear wheels, hub carriers, and bearings) from Tower Hobbies to make it a runner again :).

So, what have you done today?

I fitted my high torque servo, steering is better on my Clodzilla but still not brilliant.

Then I apparently bought 3 flights on Saudi Air at £580 each and spent £1280 in the Philippines on my credit card, so that kind of ruined my day.

I received a Logitech Driving Force GT steering wheel today:

Sorry, no home-made picture. I can tell you though that the wheel is loads of fun with the better racing games like GTR Evolution (based on the 'Race' game-engine). I also found a note today of the arrival of my custom carbon parts - but I can't pick them up at the post office until tomorrow (because the postman still has the package).

i had great success in getting my frogs suspension to work better.

now it's so plush in need to stiffen it up just a bit.

short black cva's did the trick, along with wider front arms that i found in a parts bin.

i also installed crp's rear shock mounts, and crp's front shock towers. the car finally feels the way an offroader should.

i spent way too much on this car, but i was determined to get it to handle. i still haven't hit the track with it but i knwo it will be worlds better then it was.

righ now it's plusher then my b4, thats silly soft. lol

It'll handle fine, then the gearbox will fall to pieces. Before you chuck out out the window, can I suggest putting 10 foot markers so you can see how far you chuck it? :)

lol, oh i know all about that dreaded gearbox. this car is being built soley to run at the vintage offroad nationals.

spec race with sport tuned motors. it should hold up fine, then i'll sell it.

box stock these cars handle worse then grasshoppers IMHO.

today i installed my very first Tamiya Ball diff....i had built two at the weekend (again my first build) .they are Manta Ray type.

now the above doesnt sound very special...but

I first got into Tamiya when i was 11ish...im 36 this year...never had cause to build let alone install one of their ball diffs before now??!!

I now know why the one peice thrust race is such a good idea...those microscopic balls you put in the tiny plastic carrier are time consuming to fit.

The newly made, smoothly working diff is now in my M04L Beetle.the other is going with an Ebay lot of Ta02 bits.

One of my son's friends have shown a strong interest in his DT-02, so I built a Super Fighter G out of old parts and spares for him to buy very cheaply. It runs very well with ball bearings and a Sport Tuned motor. A bit bouncy with the stock shocks, though...

Now they can race each other without borrowing any of my cars :-)

So what did you do today?

Posted
Broke my finger on my right hand. (I am Right handed) ;) Tried to install all electonics in to my Ta01, witch was very fiddling.

Who knew installing electronics in a TA01 was so dangerous?

Anyway, hope it heals well.

Done today: Installed some leds on my TA03 build, soldered a Deans connector to the TA03's ESC, and soldered some leads and Deans connectors to some vintage motors. Painted part of a 1/24 Tamtech shell.

Mainly laze around and drink Irn-Bru. But I did make a little scale aluminium toolbox. Wasn't happy with the resalt so make a wooden one. Then started on making some scale axle stands.

So what have you done today?
