I was going to add sway bars and the gear diff to start with.  Finding bits like the spur gear mount is getting harder so I'm debating how much to do with the chassis.

You can use a TA06 or TB05 spur gear adaptor. If you choose to go for gear diffs, you will need to replace the whole gearbox for FF-03R #54398 or an aftermarket one like Spec R http://www.rcmart.com/spec-spr028gbff-ff03-gear-p-33269.html?cPath=595_744_1471

Also, use thick oil (10-15k) for the diff. I'm currently using 10k oil for my FF-03 Pro-R (on-road). While I've upgraded the ball diff of my FF-03RR (rally) with aluminum ball diff joint set and used AWG instead of ball diff grease. Both diffs are performing the way I wanted them to. :)

Yup, I've had the gear diff gearbox in my parts bin for at least a year or two waiting for me to get around to upgrading the FF03.

I've had a look through your FF03 builds and they've really good.  I think Mokei hinted that there might be an FF03R re-release at some point last year, so I've been holding off spending too much but now I'm wondering if I might need an on-road and a rally FF03 too.

Replaced the tub/deck on the TT-02 fun car with a blue hard one as the old black one was getting tired (screw holes wallowed out), then put these thin balloony rally tyres on it for a laugh :D

Decided to tick another job off the list today so I put the aluminium mounts in the XV01.  It wasn't until after I'd finished and put it all back together I remembered I still have to install the sway bars.

So my Dad calls me this morning and says the neighbour was throwing away an RC car called a Ninja or something and did I want it. I thought why not, how can I say no to something that is free B) plus I can always put it in the bin if it's no good. So it turns out to be a Rising Storm! A DF-02, I don't know much about these cars, but despite being quite dirty, it looks in decent enough condition so it could make a cheap runner.

The batteries had been left in the controller and had well and truely started to corrode, but luckily no damage yet to the electronics.

I've finally got the gearbox and rear wheels for this Dodge A-100 puller project. That means that as soon as I get some time I'll resume work. It's been four years of waiting!

This is basically a front live-axle + CRP tires matched with a Rockbuster rear axle (very similar to the tamiya Hornet's) + CRP v-thread tires and wheels behind. Imma work the the chassis rails hopefully this week and will see how things go with this one :y:

I've made a thread but as it happened with all the older ones some of the picture links are broken. I wonder if there is anybody still using photobucket.

Also, last night I started the building process of the vintage Blackfoot. Restoration will come soon for this one. I stopped the process after confirming I am still missing a couple of small pieces to get it done. I thought it was complete but it was not :(

You all have a fantastic Sunday! :)

Having exchanged emails in recent years, I finally got to meet up in person with @Pintopower this weekend for the RC4WD West Coast Scale Challenge event - and you’ll be pleased to hear we both did our best to keep the Tamiya flag flying!

Alberto won two prizes in the concours this morning - the first in the Mini truck category with his scale Lunchbox on a 1/16th chassis; and another in the ‘beater’ class with his Blackfoot body scaler (on a 1/12th chassis using his conversion kit).

Meanwhile I was delighted that Hopper and Eleven won their class too - with trophies presented this evening!

managed to make another version of a RC car stand. This is my 5th revision. I also managed to laser cut some EVA foam to make the pads. I settled on a size that accommodates a number of different wheelbases and chassis sizes. So far have tested a Wild Willy, CC-01 DF-02 and a TA03F and they sit pretty well.

Bought this off Ebay as a rolling chassis! carbon fibre chassis & shock towers, front torque splitter, universal joints! and then spent a fortune on it (year after year I always say I'm cutting back on my rc but it just never happens:rolleyes:) shocks, brushless combo, 2s lipo, and savox servo took ball diffs apart put ceramic balls back in the diff and high speed gear set probably one of the most expensive rebuilds I've ever done....but I'm very happy with the finished buggy! Still need a new bumper though!

Noticed a bit of damage to the MF01X where the prop shaft mounts to the chassis.  I must've done it putting the screw back in with a bit too much effort after installing a different servo.

A bit annoying that I'll have to get a new chassis part and rebuilt the front end because of it but at least I caught it before the prop shaft came loose and possibly caused more expensive damage.  I have been looking for an excuse to buy another Jimny kit for a new body.  Or two.

I rebuild my heavy dump truck, I removed all the hop ups and ecs and casltle 5700kv motor, and build it with stock parts even with the pogo sticks.

I have done it because I am going to sell the car and I can use the motor and esc for my hotshot and the other hopup parts can I use for other projects, the hopups are not ad more value  to the car if you want to sell it, so without the hopups I can ask a lower price and the car is then easier to sell.

I like the look of the car, but the driving is not for me, I don't like the wheeling all the time and it spent more time on its roof then I run it, I know I that I can put a milder motor in it and slow it down, but for me if I do that all the fun is gone and then Its going to be on the shelf all the time.

Just placed an order for an Asterion from Tamico along with sport tuned motor. Wanted an XV-01 for a while. The idea of putting a Bowler wildcat body on it just pushed me over the edge!!!

Dug my Blitzer out of the box I planned to sell/ship it in (but couldn't pull the trigger) and gave it a run. Now I'm keeping it again, but listed my Emaxx and Blizzard for sale instead. Contemplated selling my Big Boss and USA-1. Slowly started to piece together a WR01 with a shortened wheelbase.

I haven’t had time to anything remotely interesting for a while and the house Internet has been down for nearly 2 weeks, so limited online activity on my phone 🙄

So watching this again is great 👍🏻 😂
