Painted and decaled my Hyundai i20 WRC body. Just waiting on the wheels curing in the oven from a fresh coat of Ford Meteor Grey.

Having spent an amount of money equivilant to the GDP of an average African republic on different axles, uprights and c hubs to try and fit a set of sand scorcher wheels onto a DT02 Sand Rover I have given up. It was finally after about my tenth order from Tony this last two weeks that I searched and found an old post here that said it wasnt possible. Hooray!

Instead I had some spare wheels from my Kyosho Turbo Scorpion left over (ive got Pargu alloys on that) - so with some shims and 850 bearings from RC bearings its got its boots on finally. And I actually think it looks quite good.

This whole exercise was driven by my irrational hatred of those star dish wheels which to me dont suit the kit at all. I got paid today and should have a Top Force arriving next week. As that has the same wheels Im gonig to go through this again.

Cool 👍🏻, seeing as the Bear didn’t make the grade, I can’t help thinking Scooby-Doo & Shaggy wouldn’t look out of place in one of these.

We must see the finished beetle!

I was going to call that it and name it the ‘Dung Beetle’ 😉

Just kidding, got a bit on at the mo, so don’t hold your breath. But I’ve got 2 weeks off in March so should hopefully make some progress then.

Put the Unimog body on the CR01 today.  Body posts need more than a little trimming.

It's just for the wheels. Painted using halfords paint and oven set at 50 degrees to help dry and cure the paint. They were in for 30 mins and the paint was dry.

They were bland, should have added some seasoning 😉

One of the best turned out cars I've seen - without body posts it would look like a 1:1 - FANTASTIC !!

finished my konghead today,  I convert it from a crawler back to a bashing truck with the stock tires and 3800kv castle motor and with high speed gears.

I did some soldering today,  solder 6mm bullet connectors to my 3s batteries and to my new hobbywing esc and made some adapter for charging the batteries, most of my batteries are 2s with xt- 60 connectors.

I am happy that I bought a dremel gas torch for solder thick wires and connectors , makes it a lot easier to do then with a solder iron.

Today I took my wife to a tattoo convention where she modelled for a competition, and while there I got Rabbi-kun waving a chequered flag added under my twin-star tattoo:

Amazing tattoo^^ I'm very tempted to get one of the hex wrenches somewhere :D

I've made my ESC and RX mounts for my blitzer, I need to tweak the width but then it will be sweet i think.

Battery mounts are next on the list, alongside a battery.

Picked up a loft find OG Boomerang, which I’ll probably move on to fund another build.

do I clean it first though or move it on dust and all?

Is that a genuine tattoo? If it is that's dedication for tamiya you deserve a private tour of the tamiya factory......... brilliant!

How many Tamiya related tattoos are around here? And how many of you ever thought about needling the stars or the wrench?

I did  thought about : )

Recieved my vintage Vanquish gear diff parts so I can finally bin off the ball diff in my 2013 Egress. Fitted the rear one tonight, waiting on new front gearbox halves until I can fit the front diff.

Also finished rebuilding my nephews Manta Ray ready for him to drive headlong into a tree. I fitted a BZ motor, so at least the resulting smash will be more spectacular than before.

Aye, it is a genuine tattoo, courtesy of Lientie, a talented artist who works out of the Iron and Pin studio in Lincoln (https://www.ironandpin.co.uk/).

Manga is one of her specialities, so Rabbi-kun posed no difficulties.
